I love overcomplicating things, apparently! Anyhow, I got the right answer so I’m good.
Happy Wednesday :)
07/09/2018 Biology notes in the local library!
I met up with a friend and we are having a very productive day.
Damn 😳
Sometimes you're just an introverted loser who sits alone in your room with a cup of tea and a book, has fantasies about morally grey fictional characters, is severely touch starved with a completely fucked up sleep schedule and slowly declining mental health.
After a much-needed month off, I decided to watch some chemistry lectures on YouTube to remind myself why I want to study this in the first place. I thought it would be a good idea to go right back to basics and give myself a rock-solid mathematical foundation to stand me in good stead for October.
If you’ve been following me for a while you might notice that this is not my beloved purple HP, but its sleeker, younger cousin - I retired that one and it is living out its last years with my mum. After 5 years of abuse, it deserves it!
I love bees!
save the bees🐝
So I got a big tesco delivery and I made my first ever mug cake, which was HEAVEN! I also did a couple of small assignments and carried on with my summaries.
I make all my notes in advance of lessons (these chemistry notes are weeks if not months in advance) so lessons are revision sessions and I can just get on with practice questions. I can add to them in lessons if needs be :)
This is a little late but let me introduce myself. My name is Lauren, but most people nowadays call me Lozza (or some variation thereof).
I’m a January baby, born in 2001 and I’m an absolute nerd! I love learning and am curious about just about anything so I thought I’d finally join the studyblr community because I love it here!
I’m that one friend who is always spouting out obscure facts you didn’t realise you needed to find out :)
I’m taking my A Levels at the end of this academic year (2018-19) and I’m studying:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- French
- German
- Maths (self-taught)
with the hope of going to Cambridge to study NatSci and eventually specialise as a chemist.
I love languages as much as I love science and am also a bit artsy sometimes - I used to want to be an author and I love writing. Art, too! I also love horses and used to ride (I can’t anymore unfortunately - my wrists have given up on me 😂)
Organic chemistry is my favourite thing ever and I do play with molecular modelling kits for fun. I’m also always buying books (mostly in French and German nowadays) and I never. end. up. reading. them.
Anyway, I’m always down for a chat so my ask box is open 24/7 if you need someone to talk to or even just want to say hi haha
I’m always looking for mutuals so don’t be shy ☺️
I hope your studies go well and have a great day! x
Thank you so much! I appreciate that more than you’ll ever know xx
(I am still alive folks - I’ve got my German speaking exam on Friday 17th May and I’ve just done my French oral, which went fantastically!)
My first year of uni has been over for an entire week now - time has flown! I have not been feeling particularly productive all year because of burnout. The other day, I decided out of pure curiosity to improve my maths skills. This is a big milestone in terms of my recovery - I’m starting to look forward to learning again :)
18/5/19
17 days until my first A Level exam!
Sorry I’m so inactive - I’ve just been getting speaking exams out the way for French and German.
French went amazingly; German not so much - but then my standards are very high so it will likely still get me good enough marks.
But now I can get stuck into my other 3 subjects! Not a fancy set-up this evening; just my favourite notebook and pens and my trademark cup of tea haha
I hope you are all looking after yourself during this stressful period - especially those who are taking exams, whatever level they may be at x
Lauren, 22 - England - chemistry PhD student - studyblr - English, French (fluent), German (B2) - original and reblogged content - nice to meet you!
