One of my favorite tropes is character with a nasty toxic personality who tries very hard to do the right thing anyway
the second you say ''i'll just give my character a random name and change it later'' you're already doomed. placeholder names are no joke. you will be taken hostage
i love fictional murder couples so so much because they're always like sorry nothing personal but i have to blow up your house and stab you to impress my evil wife
me, a writer, staring at one sentence for 10 minutes straight: i don’t know what’s wrong with you but i don’t like you
I want to finish revising my WIP, I want to fall into my new short story for the weekend and only emerge once it’s done, and I also want to get started on a new novel that I’m obsessed with. Instead of doing ANY of these things, I have too many options and am just scrolling endlessly instead
“they tried to kill each other” yes and? do you have a problem with true love
I know everyone says adverbs are the devil but “said softly” is an ENTIRELY different thing than “whispered” and I will DIE on this hill
that halfway stage of oc creation when you're closing in on the design or the personality or both but the other half of the character's still a nebulous concept and they don't even have a name but now they're alive and they demand to be heard. agonizing
