@cravked // trilla suduri
whatever it was that had led this woman out here, it must have been awfully important –– she couldn’t imagine what exactly it was, given that there didn’t seem to be anything of any kind of significance in the immediate vicinity. trilla stood up as the other seemed to give up on her task at hand, straightening back up once more and letting their hands clasp behind their back, a tall, militaristic posture though the situation was rather casual. even as a jedi, she’d still been trained to fight, to be an army. so much for being peacekeepers. she’d never rid herself of old habits completely.
“if you’ve got enough credits to pay for a decent meal on this place, then i can get you there.” it wouldn’t entirely be out of the kindness of her heart, after all. she could use the extra credits with how far out of society she’d been for a while. she had some catching up to do.
but the mandalorian’s words make her want to laugh, well aware of the reputation that they had. them and jedi were ancient enemies, but she wasn’t a jedi anymore. “well, if you try to kill me, then i will kill you,” trilla answered simply. “i can take care of myself, even against someone like you. you’re not a threat to me, even if you want to be.”
Sabine grinned at the other’s invitation. She didn’t even know who this stranger was, nor what they wanted, but they seemed to have a sense of humor, at the very least.
“A meal, huh? Well, you drive a hard bargain, Trilla.” They started packing up all of the supplies the two had been using. “But, I think I can manage to scrape something up for the two of us. This is a rather...unusual circumstance, after all.”
Sabine hummed quietly to themself while cleaning the makeshift camp. It had been a long while since they had had playful banter with someone else, and even longer since she had genuinely smiled.
“And, hey, I could be a threat if I wanted to! Even if you could kill me, I think it would be quite the fight. I suspect we would be pretty evenly matched.”
The Mandalorian shouldered their pack once again and nodded at the visitor.
“Well, come on, then, burc’ya. Time to learn more about the mysterious stranger who I’ll be dining with this evening.”
“Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters. Their silence is your answer.“
Fingers itched to grasp the vibroblade at her waist, but paused. Of all of their interactions, this was the closest Sabine had come to an actual threat of violence. To hatred-- pure and unadulterated.
“Trust, Armitage, that when you join the silence of my ancestors, no one will mourn you, let alone notice your departure. Despite all your efforts to be remembered, no one will feel joy or pain or heartbreak, because no one will have cared enough about your life to waste the energy.”
Anger read cleanly across their face, cool and unwavering. Motionless.
“At least I have a family, even if they are ghosts. Can you really say the same?”

original intro
spectrcsix // Ezra Bridger
ezra knows this is kind of a big deal. from what kanan’s told him everyone’s kind of running under the impression that he’s been dead for a little while which - is a little disheartening, but he’s dealt with worse. he thinks. besides, it’s nice to give them the surprise that he’s not, right??
he’s lucky he was kind of expecting her to leap at him and thankfully he’s ready for it, staggering for a moment as they collide but managing to catch himself and stay upright as he holds sabine in a tight hug. maybe a little tighter than it should be but - it’s sabine. after all this time, everything he’s been through - everything they’ve both been through, he figures she’ll understand. besides, she doesn’t seem to mind it given the way she’s holding onto him too. he goes to say something when she pulls back, only to get hit over the head anyway “hey! i said not to hit me!” he exclaims, but there’s no heat behind his words, no anger. he knows it’s coming from a place of care and fondness as it always has with sabine. it’s just how they are.
it’s hard to be completely sure what she’s saying, ezra never got the chance to learn her language, but he spent enough time around mandalorians to pick up the intention. “uh - i dunno what you just said, but please do not hit me again.” he smiles and rubs the back of his head. “wild space which is - really vague i know, but it’s kinda hard to explain when i didn’t know for sure where i was. why do you think it took me so long to figure out how to get back?” pausing, ezra drops his hand by his side and looks at sabine for a moment - really looks at her. “what’s been going on? i mean - i missed a heap, i know, so. catch me up.” there’s an unasked question there in his quieter, more serious tone. are you okay?
Their little brother stands tall now, but examines them over with some concern. There is hesitancy in his stance, an unspoken anxiety. Sabine reaches for his hand, and holds his calloused fingers between her own.
“Vod’ika...you don’t have to talk about it if you don’t want to.”
That was painful to admit, but at least he was back. His loss was...well, it had taken its toll on her. It had rocked them to the core, pushed them away from family and towards isolation. After what had happened to Kanan, Ezra’s disappearance and (apparent) death had forced them into retreat. But they had to remind herself that it was no doubt hard on him too. Whatever he had been through-- whatever means he lived by in order to survive-- must have been hell. She was proud of him, even if it remained unspoken. They squeeze his hand once, and look down at their mud-caked boots.
“You talk when you’re ready. Whatever it is, I know you fought your way back to us. You came when you could...and that’s. That’s enough, Ezra.”
She dropped his hand and instead shouldered the pack they had dropped in surprise. He had to be old enough for a drink, right?
“C’mon, Ezra. I’ve still got that bottle of Tepasi wine we stole when we were kids.” They smiled in fondness, starting to throw an arm around his shoulders but hesitating. What if he was uncomfortable with their touch? She didn’t want to overwhelm him. Instead, they just bit the inside of their lip and then gave him a sad smile.
“Looks like we can finally have that toast to the Empire’s defeat, after all.”
@generalspectre // Hera Syndulla
Hera still, after two years of peace, struggled with the idea of quiet nights. With Jacen sleeping quietly in his bunk, they sat on the ramp, cup of Ryl tea in hand. If she closed her eyes she could feel like she was home. They heard the speeder bike before they saw it and their lekku perked when they recognized the painted Mandalorian armor. “ Sabine !! “ they called, tea forgotten as she jumped up, moving down the rest of the ramp to wait outside the ship. Maybe it wouldn’t be as quiet as she originally thought.
@call-me-spectre-five
After a long night of thought, Sabine had made up their mind. Surely Hera had understood their need for time and space, but the grieving period was finally drawing to a close. Of course, the pain would always stick with her, but the best thing they could do now was surround themself with those that truly loved them. She needed to remember what it was like to be loved, and to practice it in full. The war had taken so much from her, had stripped her of friends and family members alike, but at least there were still a few people left that cared. As they had hoped, their surprise visit was well-retrieved.
“Hera!” They pulled each other into an embrace and Sabine allowed herself-- for the first time in weeks-- to truly feel held.
“Thought you could use some company. How are you and Jacen? And Kanan?”

@cptfulcrum // Alexsandr Kallus
You deserve that. Through the war there was nothing he thought he deserved more than a prison cell. As Fulcrum he had done some good. That he could acknowledge. It was the only thing that kept him waking up for almost a year, the only true purpose that kept him at bay. He had done more when he had truly defected, become a full fledged member of the Rebellion. But so many people had seen the error of their ways before he had, refused to cross a line that made them that terrible person he had known he was. Sabine had left the Imperial Academy when they learned what their weapons were being used for. They had morals. It had taken him far longer.
Still, the words coming from The Mandalorian are said with good intentions and he smiles a little, tipping his head in thanks. In truth, he would have done anything that Garazeb had asked him to afterwards. He wasn’t willing to throw one of the only good things in his life away. Even if the thought of going to Lira San would have turned his insides, had he known before they arrived. He supposed that’s why it remained a secret to no one but him. “ The war has changed us all so much, hasn’t it ?? “ he questioned vaguely, turning away from them. All of their friends and loved ones had been scarred, some more than others, but The Empire. Even at its end there was still pain. So much unknown. “ do Mandalorians long for peace like many do ?? “ he asked. “ Because I think you deserve it too, if you want it. “
He looked down as she continued, not able to speak as the words faded between them. He felt a little like he was betraying Zeb by looking into Thrawn’s movements, that he was pushing away the home that they had made together. It wasn’t that, never that, but he needed to do something after Ezra’s death. He couldn’t watch the mourning of his closest friend any longer. “ It is okay to be….. Struggling. “ he finally decided was the word, looking back at her. “ I know I have been, as Zeb has. “ he admitted. “ Lately I’ve felt restless. I want throw myself back into something, though I didn’t know what. “ Even as he tells Sabine that it’s okay to be hurting, he’s admitting that he’s attempted to ignore all of that for action. It was a typical imperial response. Again, his decades of training back at the forefront of his world. “ Zeb would be happy to see you, if you wished to come visit. “ he finally said.
Heavy emotion clouded the air between them, and silence counted itself as a member of the conversation. Sabine’s lips upturned into a small, wistful smile. They hesitated while their friend spoke what he needed to, and nodded when he was done.
“...I think we all reach for peace, Kallus, but in different ways. Some people, not just my own, think the best way to order is through spilled blood. I used to think the same.”
She paused. They could feel the emotion radiating off him, as much as he tried to guard himself against it. She wasn’t nearly as intuitive as their Jedi friends, but she knew the guilt and shame he grappled with. She recognized the hollow gaze in his eyes when he talked about the toll of war.
“Thank you, for coming all the way out here, for finding me.” They considered his words, still weighted on the air. You deserve it, too. She let that settle within her and instead decided to address the other part of his assurances.” I know I’m not in any place to give advice, but....I understand the need to keep working, to bury yourself in it. Really, I do. But, I’ve been learning-- there’s a fine line between keeping the people you love safe and abandoning them altogether.”
So much went unsaid between the two, and she hoped he felt the same understanding in the commas, the sentiment in between words.
“Kallus, if time and place permitted, I would love to visit you both on Lira San someday.” To see the home you’ve made together. “But, until then, how do you feel about getting a drink?”
sacreficied // Kanan Jarrus
there had been a long time when kanan did not have to concern him about attachment for others. in the period between the order falling and hera finding him, there had been no one for him to attach himself to. the order hadn’t cared about sex, and he’d never let anyone or anything be more than that. but as he had regained his connection with the force, began to incorporate that into his life again… attachment and connection was something that he had thought a lot about.
“kind of,” he paused for a moment before offering more information. “we’re not supposed to let it control us –– attachment, or love itself, or… the fear of losing it control or guide us. it’s easier said than done.” he tried to live by that, still. it was why years ago he’d told ezra to take over, well aware that his attempts to save hera would be affected by his love for her.
still, kanan did not regret a thing. if it came to a choice, he would choose hera and the rest of his family. he’d always been the ‘ do as i say, not as i do ’ type anyway. “well, no one ever said any of us were wise,” he quipped back with a grin of his own cracking across his features.
Sabine listened with a focused intent as he spoke, trying to make meaning of her friend’s words. For all of the jokes and bullshit banter, they did like hearing Kanan talk. Liked learning about his creed and the family he once belonged to.
“‘Easier said then done.’ That should be our crew’s tagline, huh?”
They paused on the notions of love and control and possession and guidance. She traced through their memories, wondering just how many actions had been driven by the desire to protect someone they cared about. More, it seemed, were inspired by the instinct than not. Whether it made them smart, or wise, she couldn’t say. Mandalorian or Jedi, everyone had to find a way to cope with the inevitability of feeling.
“Y’know, if I had to bet my money on the wisest of us, it’d probably be Hera. Sometimes I think they’re smarter then all of us combined.”
@spectreoflasan // Zeb Orrelios
“I am cool,” Zeb snapped. “You know what’s not cool? Karking up your guts before it’s even hit kriffing midnight because you don’t know how to hold your liquor.” Karabast, he’s going to have to set a good example, isn’t he. With once last wistful glance at the mutlicolored and very potent-looking drink in their hand, Zeb slid it down the bar to the person on their other side and grumbled, “Knock yourself out, mate. You! Barkeep! Two waters, now.” Zeb’s gruff edge lingered as he turned back to Sabine. “Now hydration, that’s cool. You want to actually enjoy your drinks? Then pace yourself.”
Oh, for the love of Alderaan. ‘Hydration, that’s cool’ ? Zeb had never felt so old in their kriffing life. But that’s what Sabine needed right now. Guilt twisted his stomach as they stumbled against him. Hadn’t Zeb’s lousy excuse for a parallel-timeline counterpart bothered to teach her to drink properly? Zeb set a steadying hand on Sabine’s shoulder, even as their last comment provoked a growl. “And for the last time, Kallus is not my boyfriend. ‘Sides, he’s in no state to be looking after anybody right now.”
“I w-would hold my liquor fine! If you would give it back to me!” They yelped as he pawed her reaching hand away. (Heh. Pawed). They shot the bartender a nasty glare and tried standing on her own. Feet felt like lead and head too thin, and the metal of the counter dug into their skin.
“Zebbbbb, don’t you think I deserve a drink after the shit year I’ve had?! W-why not! Why not get fuck-king shitfaced?” She huffed. This had to be a joke. First all of the-- the shit! The shit with Ezra and Kanan and Mandalore, and-- and it hurt! It hurt and it was scary and it made her hands shake and her chest tight and! And they just wanted it to mute, just for a moment! Moisture pooled at their eyes as Zeb spoke, as they responded. At his words, her face fell immediately, turning from anger and fear to...to something that ached deeper. Something was wrong. Something was really wrong.
“Wh-what do you mean he isn’t your boyfriend? Did. Did something happen?”
cptfulcrum // alexsandr kallus
Kallus has long since known that the Ghost crew had forgiven him for the atrocities he’s committed. Even as he struggled to understand how or why, he would be grateful to his final days for friends such as them. Sabine would understand the significance of this in a way that no one else tasked would. They would understand the research that had gone into this, the inner turmoil while he had struggled with the Imperial idea of his body. Years later and it haunted him, the guidelines beat into their soldiers. “ Thank you. “ he said simply, nodding his head as he put his personal code into the datapad. Then he handed it off to them, the picture simple and not able to be understood to someone that didn’t know him. The Fulcrum Symbol featured, with fauna native to Lira San in another image. Finally, a third image of some flowers native to Lasan. He’s no artist, but has a vision. He knows Sabine is the one to execute that for him. “ This is quite personal to me. I want a tattoo. “ it’s to the point, lacks the emotion he has surrounding the whole idea, and his insecurities about how Zeb would feel about the whole thing. “ If it’s amenable for you, I’d prefer you to help me with this. “
The image drew a sharp inhale from the Mandalorian. The concept was striking, a symbol equal parts sharp and soft, a contrast of edges and curves. It was as though the picture itself was blooming before her eyes; she could already see the colors springing to life, filling the spaces between lines. They thought of the equipment that sat just inside her ship and the weeks since it had been used. It was a practice she was well-versed in-- but this time was different. It was so much more than ink and skin.
“Kallus, I...” But what words could she speak to answer a request so heavy? Sabine understood, of course they understood, what this meant to him. They could imagine the struggle he’d faced just to ask so much of her, the nights he must have wrestled with the regulations the Empire had imposed on him since boyhood. The tattoos she had were-- like so many other things-- an act of rebellion against them. And now it was his turn. Wordlessly, she nodded, holding his tired gaze with their own. Their grip on his hand tightened.
“When do you want to do this? I can have a few digital drafts made up withing a few hours, but I won’t rush you. Take it on your own time, and I’ll follow you.”
@cravked // trilla suduri
a life of solitude was something that trilla had gotten used to with the last two years, alone on the outer rim, staying as far away from society and individuals as she could. there had still been some necessary trips to markets for supplies that she needed; it had been a sharp learning curve to life as an imperial where all of her basic needs were met, just as they had been in the jedi order. when she hadn’t isolated herself, it had not been a problem. her skillset left her particularly capable of making money when she needed it, capable of mercenarial jobs that… the average person just could not accomplish on their own. she’d been among the best as a padawan, and learned so much more when training as an inquisitor. her arrogance had never failed her: she was capable of anything she set her mind to.
still, after all of that time, isolation had remained to be somewhat easier. maybe it was because of how sour things had gone with cal, or the fact that the others that she had run into had left her feeling less than about herself. quiet spaces away from people was what she needed, but she was still trying to follow the call of the force, to allow herself to be more than the darkness that had eaten her up for so long. much of it had faded. trilla found herself bathed in light more than dark these days, paranoia being the main thing to set her back. she ached for isolation, but the force continued to guide her in another direction, to tell her no. stumbling upon this stranger was just one of many instances that seemed to serve as proof for the idea.
trilla’s gaze fell upon them in the distance, debating with herself for a few minutes before she approached. she still maintained a modest distance when she spoke to her. “i can’t imagine that you’re accomplishing much out here.” her voice was cool and neutral as she spoke, chin held high even as the other’s seated position forced her gaze down to look upon them.
Sabine noticed a figure slowly approaching her from the distance, seemingly making right for the Mandalorian and their broken transport. They sat uneasily astride the speeder, working nimbly at all of the complexities of the machine before them. She made sure to note where their blasters were at the moment (just in case trouble arose). She looked up as, after a few minutes, the stranger stopped some distance away. They made a short comment about the bike, and without turning away from the interloper’s gaze, Sabine stifled a laugh, short and bark-like.
“Y’know, it would go a lot faster if I didn’t have someone griping about my work to distract me.”
Sabine realized that their words may have been harsh, but it was a lonely galaxy, and they knew not to trust everyone that came up to them with a blaster on their hip and a half-cocked expression of smugness on their face. Still, this approaching stranger seemed...different, somehow. They couldn’t place how, only that they seemed just as wearisome a traveler as herself. This person didn’t seem to want to bring harm or tension, to either of them. In fact, they seemed just as uncertain as the Mandalorian felt. Maybe that’s why, instead of offering a belittling quip or turning them away, she extended a handheld soldering tool to the newcomer.
“But, I will take your help, if that’s what you’re offering.” They paused, and flashed a small smile. “But only if I knew who was so generously concerned with the state of this busted piece of scrap metal.”
