THIS IS AMAZING LOL
lol. I am living for the comments under the official trailer video.
Expanding on this, I'd just like to say that if we call people stupid for hating Mabel, they're not going to want to listen to us when we explain why she doesn't deserve the hate.
well, just explored the "mabel pines defense squad" tag
there were a lot of strongly worded posts

Am I the only one who noticed just how SAD Mabel was in Mabel Land? She was nowhere near the excitement and happiness she felt when she first held Waddles or when she shares a laugh with Stan or when she admires her smart brave brother. There was this deliberate undercurrent in every word she spoke of a girl whose heart was broken. (seriously MAJOR props to Kristen Schaal for getting that across in her voice alone)
That’s why Dipper could say with complete certainty “You’re not happy here”. And Mabel KNEW IT, she knew it from the start! She just needed to hear the words spoken out loud. Which is often what needs to happen for a person to realize that what they’re doing is wrong.
I honestly don't get people who thought Dipper should have accepted Ford's apprenticeship offer or that he was once again bending over backwards to please Mabel by rejecting it, as if the apprenticeship and Mabel Land weren't two sides of the same coin.
Everybody can tell Mabel Land was a bad coping mechanism to Mabel -a way to have her avoid facing reality. But Ford's apprenticeship would've be the same thing to Dipper if he accepted it.
Since the begining of the show Dipper wanted to fastfoward childhood with his attempts to woo Wendy, lying about his age to seem more mature and skipping trick r treat to go to a teenage party, and getting the oportunity to just skip middle and high school and go straight to studying the paranormal like an adult with Ford is just more of that. It's another form of escapism, even if it seems more "grown-up".
When he gives up the apprenticeship, he's not giving up his dreams -if they defeat Bill he can come back to Gravity Falls with Mabel and study the paranormal as much as he likes and he even had a plan for making a ghost-hunting show when he grew up, as he told Ford as the latter was doing his offer.
Instead, he promisses to have Mabel's back and vice-versa as they've always had before, because as much as reality and growing up sucks, it's the people around you that make it bearable.
Stan dies
Mabel self-harms
Ford gets tortured
Dipper suffers
something something Grace's t-shirt being too large for her shoulders something something Simon's hoodie being too short for his arms
there's a metaphor about growing up somewhere in there, I think. maybe. idk
I have read two fics in the last two days where Ford wakes up and his first instinct is to point a gun (specifically at Stan)
how do i get these proships off my suggested stuff
Look guys, its Dipper Pines.
With such a knack for theatrics it’s amazing Ford didn’t major in drama
I don't know what this is
But it made me laugh
I think one of the best things about dipcifica (both romantic and platonic) is just that neither of them have a clue about what the other person is like.
Like yeah, Dipper doesn't have any idea about modern fashion and other stuff Pacifica values but Pacifica doesn't know either.
And if they even decided to date, both of them are gonna struggle planning it. Dipper 'overthinking' pines for obvious reasons
and Pacifica cuz, what is she supposed to do? Most of what she knows isn't going to work with Dipper like it would with other people.
Is she supposed to plan a date in the supernatural black market? Do they even have restaurants like the mall does?? Can she even reserve a table???
And what is she supposed to wear? An alien outfit? Dipper like kissing aliens right? What fashion do aliens even have?!
Thanks you! I appreciate it and will send it to you (if I ever actually write it lol)
Also I looked at how I asked and it appears I was . . . very excited *side eyes the all caps first five words* I'm so sorry if this doesn't make any sense
we love the idea of feral ford but even moreso we love the idea that stan mimics him sometimes
like
stan: sorry bud i gotta go through your stuff real quick
ford: *angry cat noise* D:<
stan: don’t ‘mreh’ me
ford: mreh
stan: MrEh
reblog if the first musical you listened to was not Hamilton
CAN I WRITE ONE TOO? And then we'd have multiple feral Stan twins MREHing at each other!

I would love to read anything you write about them!
I was going to lament the complete lack of longer fics centered solely on Dipper and Mabel's relationship, before realizing that I have, in fact, read one story like that. However, Dipper was so traumatized he acted pretty different.
This is also the story that convinced me I shouldn't read main character death.
Here's the finished version . . . honestly not my favorite, but it's okay.
"Trust the process"
The process:
I had a dream and now I headcanon that Dipper is magic and has the power of coincidences, which is why so many cartoon plot things happen to him (like finding Journal 3 and the "ultimate power" inscription from the video game episode)
As a note... it showed up in the Billford tags anyway. Oops. ^^;
Oh my goodness
I don't know what to do
I don’t know how I feel about this . . . On one hand, it’s not exactly inaccurate. It technically was about billford. On the other, I don’t want anyone thinking I actually ship them
If I ever say I ship Bill with ANY member of the Pines family, it’s an imposter. Shoot them. Preferably with fire. Lots of fire.
(Anonymous is referring to this post of mine: https://www.tumblr.com/cakeiscoolsblogthing/770974696442413056/every-day-i-long-to-shake-roughly-34-of-the)
Every day I long to shake roughly 3/4 of the fandom by the shoulders and shout at them that any relationship Bill and Ford had was horrifically abusive
Pacifica getting kicked out and going to the Shack AU won the poll for what I should focus on, which I sort of expected. Or maybe I just hoped for that outcome since I have more of an idea of where that story is going than the Bill Wins AU.
Pacifica's AU is going to be one story, maybe two. However, I recently decided that the Bill Wins/Weirdmageddon AU would work better if I turned it into a series and separated it into episodes so I can focus on different groups of characters.
Good news and bad news.
Good news: I finished the next chapter of A Fight To Remember!
Bad news: I want to wait until I've finished the final two chapters to post it.
Potentially good news: I'm going to try and get them finished soon so I can post all three in quick succession, hopefully by the end of the first week of the new year.
Merry one day late Christmas!
Edit: Here's a link to the series I'm talking about: https://archiveofourown.org/series/3995638
. . . I'm gonna do another poll and put it for just one day
Why did I set the poll for three days . . . I didn't expect this many votes and am dying of curiosity
Can we talk about this:
And how big a deal it is?
I mean, look…we all know Soos is the perfect replacement for Stan. We all know that by giving Soos the role of Mr. Mystery, he’s not only making Soos’s long-term dream come true, he’s cementing the unspoken father-son bond they have by making Soos the closest thing Stan has to an heir.
But a job title isn’t all Stan gives him.
Let’s be clear here–Stan lives like a poor man. He’s cheap and loath to spend a single penny when he can mend, reuse or steal what he needs instead. But I don’t think that’s a sign the Shack isn’t making him money. On the contrary, everything we see about the Shack reinforces the idea that it’s making great money. Stan isn’t poor. He’s miserly. There’s a big difference.
We never see an episode where Stan’s worrying about how business is dropping off or where the Shack is open but deserted. Whenever we see Stan give a tour, there’s always a crowd. And with one or two exceptions (tourists leaving angrily after Waddles eats the Cornicorn) the tourists are almost always forking over huge fistfuls of cash. The Shack frequently hosts huge events that the entire town shows up for, and Stan’s often surrounded by huge piles of cash. The Mystery Shack is such a fixture of Gravity Falls that it’s on the town map hanging in city hall.
Stan’s bitter promise to his family that he would make millions quite frankly probably came true.
Stan didn’t just give Soos his dream job, he gave him an incredibly profitable business that he could have probably sold for millions. Stan “bleed ‘em dry ” Pines. Stan “wouldn’t loan you a nickel without charging interest” Pines. He gave it to Soos for nothing.
Soos deserved it. After ten years of the most loving, devoted loyalty to his father dad papa padre employer for what I can only assume was terrible pay, he had earned it. But that’s not really my point–my point is that Stan, who couldn’t even bring himself to spend a few dollars on pancakes for his niblings, gave away potential millions to his son heir precious child that he loves so much employee with a smile, without hesitation.
That is huge. That is amazing. That is both an important sign of character growth and an indication of how much Stan loves this precious baby man.
Lake: I'm really glad "fight me" has replaced "sue me" because I don't have money but I do have fists and I'm always angry
