Someone gifted my mom a small pot with three succulents. She absolutely loved it, and brought it home to put it by the window.

They were very pretty, but there was a particular one that everyone in the house liked and no one had seen before.

Sadly, after a couple of months, said specific succulent started losing the leaves it had and even lost a branch. All due to an excessive watering since my mom, with her best effort and love, has been watering every two days.

So I took care of the pot, changed the soil, put it where it could get direct sun, etc. But despite my best efforts, the weird succulent we all loved was decaying dramatically.

I didn't know its name and after asking people around without an answer, I managed to identify it with google lens. So I went full investigation mode to save the weird and beautiful succulent.

Turns out it is native to south Africa and it's very uncommon. Needs sand instead of soil, many ours of direct sunlight yada yada

I'm reaching the last part of the article where, AND ONLY AT THE END, warns it a highly TOXIC.

Not only when consuming it, but also by touching it!!

I go to my dad with the news as "This is not advised for homes with small children and pets for it highly toxic and must be manipulated with gloves! Can you imagine, I even touched it already!"

My dad then reveals that he also touched it. So we went to tell my mom, who had ALSO TOUCHED IT ALREADY.

I'm really sorry for Mr. Senecio but i won't make any more efforts to save it

I am once again enamored with the idea of simple domesticity, so here are some ideas/prompts that y'all are also welcome to use <333

Coming up behind A while they cook/clean/whatever and B wrapping their arms around them

Brushing/braiding/fixing their hair as they read a book aloud

Adjusting their clothes

Laid out on the couch together, watching something or reading, just generally close but not necessarily focused on one another

A can't find something they're looking for. They call out to B for help and B comes around the corner with it, kissing A on the cheek as they say where it was

A cuts their finger. B sits them on the toilet lid as they clean it and bandage it, and press a kiss over it. (Bonus is A asks "Will I live, doc?" Extra bonus if B teases them about needing to amputate it before the infection spreads)

Teaching the other something they know really well, like cooking, sewing, how to fold a shirt, etc

B has to get up and get ready for work, but A just pulls them closer for cuddles

Sitting on opposite ends of the couch but A has their feet in B's lap and B massages them, especially if A has to walk around a lot

One of them starts to get up when the baby starts crying, but the other stops them and gets up instead. Bonus if they don't return and are found fast asleep in a chair with baby on their chest

Singing and dancing around together

A remembering after B gets back from the store that they needed something, but B noticed they were out and already grabbed it

Feeding each other bites

Celebrating their different cultures together

A falls asleep on the couch. B tucks them in or squeezes onto the couch with them for the night

A napping on the couch when B is in the living room because they feel safer with B there

Running baths for each other

Having "bath dates" where they take a bath together with glasses of wine on the side

Folding laundry together

Having a unique way to find each other if they get separated in a store (whistle, Marco Polo, etc)

Surprising each other with flowers or knickknacks for no reason

Going to a toy store together when they don't have kids just to play with the displays and make fun of crappy new toys

Having a specific routine to going to bed, specifically how they say goodnight (Kissing foreheads, kissing a finger and pressing it to their lips/nose, etc)

Unique ways of saying "I love you", especially if one has a hard time saying it (tapping them, holding their hand, alternate phrases like "I like you a lot")

This went on way longer than I thought it would. Feel free to add any more you can think of or ask for clarification if I explained something poorly :)

okay let's get into my thoughts of each track based on the titles: Track 1 - Fortnight (ft. Post Malone) POST MALONE??? i swear, i'm not joking, i had like a dream or a thought a little while ago that was like "lmao what if taylor collaborated with post malone what would that be like- she would never tho that would be crazy" so ig i manifested it?? ngl i don't listen to post malone and i haven't heard many of his songs. except i think that one song about circles that was on the radio a lot a while ago when i would listen to the radio all the time was his song. it was fine, kind of annoying tho once i heard it too much. i'm really not sure what to expect with the song, but i do like the title. a fortnight is two weeks so i'm curious if time will have a significance in this track, let alone the album. she wore a clock choker last night and kept asking Tree if her watch was set correctly, apparently to midnight, so i have a feeling time may be a theme within the album. idk but fortnight just gives me middle ages castle vibes so i'm curious if this song will have modern vibes, old hollywood vibes, or like ancient vibes when it comes to setting.

Track 2 - The Tortured Poets Department the titular track!! okay i genuinely have no ideas whatsoever for what this song could be about. maybe another anti-hero/yoyok type song? or even like a mastermind/labyrinth type love song? tbh idk- im really curious to hear other theories or opinions on this track so pls share !!

Track 3 - My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys 101% about a bf who once treasured and loved their relationship starts letting it die (cough joe cough). that phrase is so powerful because it provides the perfect imagery to show "yeah he loved me a lot, but he also hurt me" whether or not he knew it, he did it. this title definitely gives me like poetry title vibes so i'm curious what not only the lyrics will be but what the actual musical element will sound like.

Track 4 - Down Bad OH BOY A DELUSIONAL TRACK YES PLEASE. i can already tell that a running theme within this album is like wanting someone you can't have or loving someone too much that it's an issue. oh boy am i ready for the down bad delusional song this track will give us. i'm really hoping it'll be more of a happy delusional than a sad unrequited love delusion because i could see it going in that direction and as clever as that is i would like to be supported in my delusions. i'm really excited for this song.

Track 5 - So Long, London I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO TALK ABOUT THIS ONE OMG. THIS IS THE WHOLE REASON IM MAKING THIS POST. OH BOY. OKAY SO. the parallel to London Boy is CLEAR. bye bye joe. FAREWELL. we are officially done and over. there is no way in which i can look at this track title and not think "this is about joe" because it just so clearly is and i am HERE for it. i am curious if it's going to be a bad bitch call-out track or a sad mourning track...we'll just have to wait and see ig! (just realized it's a track 5 so it could be more emotional, but maybe she'll go a different route this time? i don't know but it'll be great fs)

Track 6 - But Daddy I Love Him OH MY GOD. as a lesbian it's frustrating that i'm sure many of these songs will be heavy on the "he's a boy" so it'll be harder for me to sing along earnestly, BUT that being said...i CANNOT WAIT for this track. i honestly don't know what the vibe will be for it but i'm sure it's phenomenal and i can't wait to hear it.

Track 7 - Fresh Out the Slammer is this a phrase? am i out of the loop? hold on lemme look it up..okay all i've learned is that there are several other songs with this same name. truly have no clue what this could be.

Track 8 - Florida!!! (ft. Florence + The Machine) i. i don't even know what to expect. i think i might just expect nothing because that way i'll definitely be surprised and delighted.

first off, i want to say that i am really hoping we're gonna get some classic literature references in this album. we already have the little allusion with "All's fair in love and poetry" so i'm hoping that means there will be more to come. these are my thoughts before reading the track titles so. one of my favorite references is in Getaway Car with "it was the best of times, the worst of crimes" (The Tale of Two Cities, Charles Dickens) so if we get more like that again i will be content. "I love you, it's ruining my life" OH MY GOD. LOVE THIS LINE. one thing though: what does it mean? because clearly it's not like an album or track title. is it a lyric in one of the songs? because it's such a good line and obviously i love having it here, but i really hope it is revitalized in a song.

BRO I LOVE MY FILM TEACHER

i have been seriously struggling with schoolwork recently and one of the classes affected by that has been my film class and ive been really stressed about my missing assignments (which y'all have definitely heard about on here) but my film teacher is the absolute best and this is the email I got from her today 🥺☹️🥹 literally love her (also she knows im usually on top of things because i had her as a sub for my speech teacher last year when my actual teacher was out for maternity leave)

no but fr now im gonna get those assignments done so that i can get on her bright side and everything goes right in the world. i also have to work on my documentary for film tonight too but I can just work on that late into the night. RAHHH

update! finished it last wednesday and even reread heartstopper vol 4 yesterday since it overlaps with solitaire. really amazing how i can't bring myself to do homework or read normally but when my crush recommends me a book i say "yes ma'am🫡"
