Got myself a sweet treat. Going to eat it in ritual fashion like I am a god of old and it was placed on my altar
Hi I also do art! my laptop is broken rn but I still can use my phone. Big fan of cosmic creatures and I can't wait to draw xer more
Don't post my art anywhere please!
So I'm reading the girl from the other side rn and idk they just remind me of each other a lot
I'm starting to get so tired of seeing posts that are like "Well actually, that latest Trump executive order is not a real law, infact it's downright illegal so don't despair". Like brother, he launched an actual literal insurrection and got away with it, who cares if something else he does I also illegal? Who cares if his EOs are not laws when they are being enforced as if they are?! Sure his "ban all DEI" orders are illegal, that didn't stop all the corporations from complying with his orders. Who cares that DOGE is not a federal agency and doesn't have any legal power, they are acting like they have absolute power and no one is stopping them. I need liberals to finally wake up and realize that laws only exist if someone is enforcing them. You government, the entity that's meant to enforce those laws, is full of bloodthirsty fascists who are perfectly happy with everything that's going on. You are not "becoming a dictatorship", you've been living in one for the last decade. They just finally finished consolidating their power and stopped pretending.
demisexuality can be so hard to explain because itās misconstrued as you just wanting to trust the other person before you have sex with them. and I get why the misconception happens. But demisexuality differs in that there isnāt sexual attraction at all before that bond forms.
I think what people have difficulty with is the idea that there are people out there who arenāt experiencing sexual attraction at all until a certain point, if ever, because weāre taught that sex, libido, and sexual attraction are all the same, both in and out of queer spaces.
And when youāre learning about asexuality and demisexuality, you may learn that people have romantic and aesthetic attraction separately from sexual attraction, and that sexual and romantic attraction arenāt necessarily intertwined, and that may challenge your worldview on sex.
But āI trust you enough to have sex with youā isnāt the same as āIām not sexually attracted to anyone but you, and the reason Iām sexually attracted to you now after weāve established this close bond is literally because of the bond of trust weāve been able to formā.
Itās easy to see how those can get conflated. On the surface, if youāre unfamiliar with asexuality, they may sound the same. But itās important to acknowledge the difference between āno sex until I trust youā and āno sexual attraction unless I trust you and maybe not even thenā.
Demisexuality is housed under the asexuality spectrum. Itās part of the gray area between being allosexual and asexual. Itās part of why the definition for asexuality includes ālittle to no sexual attractionā. Itās a mostly asexual experience with an asterisk.
While being demisexual may have impacts on a persons sexual activity, even demisexuals have a varied relationship to the act of participating in sex. Libido and sexual attraction are not always intertwined either, which can make telling the difference tricky.
I think of sexual attraction as libido that has a compass. Since I rarely ever experience sexual attraction, but do have libido, itās noticeable for me when that libido actually has a direction to go, rather than being a floating, nebulous, independent thing.
Remember, not everyone is demisexual. Thereās a difference between waiting to have sex and not having sexual attraction at all until a certain point. This also inherently ties demisexuality to romantic attraction and relationships, and not all demisexuals are alloromantic.
But if you read what demisexuality is and think āeveryone is like thatā or āthatās just being a womanā, you either 1) are demisexual 2) donāt understand what it is or 3) both. And itās okay to not know. Just as long as youāre willing to try to learn.
So as someone who's taken a college biology class with an entire unit dedicated to sex differentiation it's been bugging me immensely to see so many people (mostly on threads) say that "we're all female at conception" There's some truth to female anatomy being the "default baby" because it takes less developmental energy to create/maintain but "we're all female to start" is a way oversimplification of this to the point it's just not true. I'm not claiming to be an expert by any means but I would like to spread the knowledge I do have bc I think it's honestly cool as hell
To start I've seen this talked about a lot in relation to Trump trying to sign an executive order that categorizes people's sex by "the gametes they have at conception" There's so many issues with this. A zygote is not producing gametes at conception, it's a single cell. A zygote carries the genetic coding for which sex you are but genes are not the final determination and only make up part of your sex. For example, you may have an SRY gene which is the catalyst for male development but it may be damaged and not expressed. A person may present entirely as one sex but not be able to produce gametes, Sex isn't just one characteristic.
Once a fetus begins developing its organs it doesn't just start out with female anatomy which can then "become male anatomy if you have the genes for it" We actually start out with undifferentiated gonads (which are still not producing gametes) and two duct systems, one that can become the female reproductive organs and one that can become the male. They're called the Müllerian and Wolffian ducts. (Science illustration so you know I'm not just pulling this out of my ass)
This is where our genes come into play deciding if our gonads become ova or testes and which ducts develop into our reproductive organs. Shout out to all my intersex folks, a lot of intersex conditions become expressed at this stage of development. For example, a person with androgen insensitivity syndrome would have XY chromosomes but would have missing or non-functioning androgen receptors. This means their gonads become testes and the hormone that degrades the Mullerian ducts is released, but their body cannot use any androgens to continue male development. This means without androgens the wolffian ducts also degrade and the person would have external female genitalia and internal testes. My knowledge on the more micro-biology and chemical reactions part of sex determination is more limited so I can't really talk about it in a comprehensive way but I just wanted to share this really cool human fact.
no matter how hard i try i will always be that little girl wondering why everyone is better friends with eachother than her and begging to be loved
Iām not going to shut up. Iām not going to lay down and die. I will not be complacent. I will not greet fascism with a polite smile. I refuse to hide. I refuse to give up.
Iām going to be LOUD and RUDE and ANGRY. Iām going to FIGHT and YELL and PROTEST. I WILL NOT hide who I am. I know some of us have no other choice but to hide for their own safety, so Iāll yell twice as loud and fight twice as hard and be twice as visible for all of us. I REFUSE to let fascism win. Iām going to outlast. Iām going to SURVIVE. Iām going to LIVE.
ITS NOT OVER UNTIL ITS FUCKING OVER
