how to get motivated when you just want to sit on your bed and eat popcorn (aka me yesterday)
I’m going to be splitting this post into 3 categories
1) general motivation “tips”
2) how to be motivated for school stuff
3) motivation for other tasks

1) General motivation tips
• if you can do it In 5 minutes or less do it NOW
If won’t take long to do get it done then go back do doing what you were doing, “losing” 5 minutes of electronic time is better than never finishing what you need to do. Ex: I can clean off my desk in less than 5 minutes so I’ll do it now instead of waiting
• the hardest part is getting up
I know if you don’t have any motivation getting out of bed is the hardest thing and you’ll need some help with that so if you get on your phone as soon as you wake up put it somewhere where you have to get up to get it then don’t go back to your bed until you finish one thing you didn’t do yesterday
• I know it’s hard to find motivation but as soon as you do one small task you’ll want to do a bigger task then before you know it your to do list will be all marked off
2) motivation for school
Doing school stuff after school isn’t the most fun thing since you’ve been there most of the day and you just want to relax when you get home
• study/homework as soon as you get home or right before bed.
If you want to get homework out of the way do it as soon as you get home then you have the rest of the day to do whatever you want, if you need some time to have a break right after school do what you need to do then save a few hours before you go to bed and do homework then (bonus: if you’re doing homework before bed and not using your phone you are increasing your ability to sleep)
• no distractions
I know this all too well and get distracted super easily especially when I’m trying to do school work, to solve this I turn my phone all the way off and put it in a different room, this helps because I can’t just reach over and get distracted by notifications or endless scrolling. Whatever you get distracted by remove it
• keep everything you need on your desk
If you know you need a ruler for your homework get one before you start and put it on your desk so you don’t have to get up and get it, keep a water bottle and a small snack on your desk so you don’t have to get up and get distracted getting it, if you know you need Lip balm, hand sanitizer, gum, ect. Keep that at your desk too.
• find the best study method for you
If you’re struggling with one study method try a different one, find a method that works for you so you want to study
• summarize notes into short “essays”
If you missed a day of notes get them from a friend and summarize the main points into small paragraphs so when you need to study but don’t want to you can read the paragraphs (a little something is better than nothing)
3) motivation for other things
• find inspiration
I do this a lot and I think it really helps. When I’m going to clean my room and I’m not in the mood I’ll give myself a few minutes to get on Pinterest and go through my future bedroom board to get motivated then I’ll clean
• start small
Do something small first then work your way up to bigger things
• 2 minute tasks
If you have no motivation force yourself to do something for 2 minutes, if you still don’t want to do it after 2 minutes get up and do something else but once you start for those 2 minutes you are more likely to keep going
— I’m probably not the best person to get motivation tips from but I hoped these helped even just a little, this is my first time doing something like this so feedback would be greatly appreciated <3
🏡Working at home🏡
Today most schools and universities are closed, most of us are now working from our place and it can be difficult to meet the conditions to study. So here's some tips to help you study from home!
1. Don't stay in pajamas all day!
I know this might be tempting but this doesn't help to wake up your brain. Putting on clothes you wear outside can trick your brain into a more productive mode.
2. Keep a schedule
Quarantine is a good time to rest so you don't need to spend as much time working as you are in school ; but you should keep a schedule, with fixed hours to work. For example from 10am to 12am and from 2pm to 5pm. In order to stay focus, you can use the Forest app and activate the Reminder function.
3. Find yourself a working space
Staying in bed is really tempting, I agree with you but it might not help to be productive. I took too much nap while working in bed so never again! Try to find a different space to work, in order to separate your resting space from your work place. A trick that might help you : use some decoration to build your own working space. Adding some plants on your table and a good lighting on your table when your work can help.
4. Create a productive atmosphere
The perk of working from home is that you can get more comfortable than in office or school. So be free to pour yourself some tea or coffee. To avoid distraction, I tend to play lo-fi playlist so I'm not distracted by every noise I hear (aka the cries of my neighbor's babies).
5. Keep track of your task
A lot of teachers are giving assignments with different due dates, WRITE THEM DOWN! If you have one, write them on your bullet journal and amake to-do list with all the tasks and divide your assignments steps by steps so you can cross things off your list more often!
6. Try new hobbies
Always wanted to do something new but never had time do to so? Well... Now you have all the time in the world! Make this quarantine less boring by trying new things (that you can do at home, of course)! Wanna declutter your home? Lear how to cook? Doing exercices at home? You have all the time needed!
And of course, take care of yourself and your relatives!

Know what you want to achieve soon and in the future. This helps you know where to go and stay motivated.
Do the most important things first to save time and energy.
Have a daily plan that includes work, rest, exercise, and learning.
Make big tasks smaller so they're not scary, and you can see progress.
Use methods like the Pomodoro Technique (working for a while, then resting) or blocking time to get more done.
Notice when you're avoiding work and make yourself start.
Control yourself from getting distracted or doing things just for fun.
Say no politely when you can't do more things without getting stressed.
Stay healthy by eating well, exercising, and sleeping enough.
Keep learning by reading, taking classes, or trying new things.
Check how you're doing with your goals and change plans if needed.
Tell a friend or mentor your goals so they can help you stay on track.
Keep your spaces tidy to help you focus better.
Learning discipline takes time, and it's okay if things don't go perfectly.
Think good thoughts about yourself instead of bad ones.
Imagine doing well to get motivated.
Mistakes are chances to learn, not reasons to give up.
Be happy about even small successes to stay positive.
Listen to advice from others to get better.
Be ready to change your plans but keep your main goals.
Try mindfulness to concentrate, be calm, and know yourself better.
Write about your progress and plans in a journal.
Turn off things like social media when you work or study.
Think about things you're thankful for to stay happy.
Do quick tasks right away instead of waiting.
Spend time with people who help you and make you want to be better.
Let others do tasks that you don't need to do, so you can focus.
Get better at handling problems without giving up.
Picture doing well to stay motivated.
Drink water to think clearly and stay healthy.
Have a special place to work or study to help you focus.
Wait for bigger rewards instead of quick ones.
Keep things simple, both around you and in your mind, so you can concentrate.
Listen to advice without feeling bad about yourself.
Use apps and tools to manage your tasks and time.
Reading helps you learn and think better.
Decide what's good enough for you and stick to it.
Believe you can get smarter and better with practice.
Do creative things to stay imaginative and interested.

A daily routine is a great way to keep yourself on task. The longer you stick with it, the more each task becomes a habit and it starts to get easier. But a routine isn’t universal, each person has its own.
plan: before your day starts have in mind - or in a paper - what needs to be done on that day or the next one. It will save you time.
wake up before you need: if you have extra time before you go to work or school, having extra time for you is essential. Eat calmly, take a shower, pack or things and don’t live your house late.
don’t go hard on yourself: enjoy your breaks and take a breath. Pushing yourself to the edge is going to tire you before your day is done. Listen to some music, eat a snack, read.
set a time to sleep and wake up: most people need 8 hours of sleep per day. According to what you need, schedule a bedtime and wake up time that gives you plenty of sleep.
prepare your meals: if you don’t have time to cook daily, take one day off and cook for all week. It’s healthier and cheaper than getting take out every single day.
follow and repeat your routine: if you don’t try it, you won’t know how your day works. Trying and adapting it is essential to create a perfect routine and transforming it into a habit.

Finished the first 3 pages in a little over 45 minutes, then kept at it and finished all 6 pages of notes that I needed to catch up on.
We’re doing les phrases hypothétique, which I forgot about from high school and actually love, they feel like a math problem.
I still have a psych module to do tonight, but I’m proud of how productive I’ve been so far today.
