Leafy sea dragon mermaid! [swoon] Â (Ok, theyâre all cool, but I have a soft spot for leafy sea dragons.)
5/15 mermaid design challenge i made for myself (also happens to be during #mermay)
so far: goldfish, lionfish, leafy sea dragon, deepsea predator, and red octopus
i will post here when another 5 are done, meanwhile you can see each one & WIPs on my twitter if you want
edit: basically i realized way too late that u cant see anything of the details so i added 100% closeups for each one like i did on twitter ///shrug
I found this at Goodwill. Itâs a little gaudier than I usually like, but I couldnât resist. Now that I have it set up, I love it! (Itâs rather difficult to take a picture of a lamp in place. I mean, itâs there because I want light there, but turning on the lamp itself put in way too much glare.)
I just realized that I forgot to post yesterday! I had it planned out and just ... spaced.
Anyway, now that I'm done beating up myself (with e. e. cummingâs help), I'm ready to take on the world. If you're sequestered, this may be a good time to add some color to your life! Yesterdayâs poem was I Shall Paint My Nails Red by Carole Satyamurti.
For today's poem, if painting your nails isn't acting out enough, try some Dangerous Coats by Sharon Owens.
Reblogging for all my friends with more prescriptions than I have!
A friend of mine posted this. Reblog to save a life!
I hope no one who follows my feed needs this, but better to have and not need than to need and not have.

This may explain why I have so much crap in my purse. Â "As the designated Mom Friend, I'm required to carry tissues, pens, a pocket knife, a mirror, a sewing kit, bandages, a tape measure, scratch paper, an eyeglasses repair kit, and matches at all times in case of emergency."
Ok but imagine how the aliens would react to the idea of the âmom friendâ. Like the crew is losing their mind over the fact their human is reckless, doing so many dangerous things that would have killed any other race but of course itâs fine because itâs a human and those things are so hard to kill anyway.
The only planet that is a danger to a human is the one it came from.
So when the human-Kat comes into the control room with that adorable hopeful face a lot of the crew members are instantly on guard. The last time Human-Kat had that expression they almost lost Xe'rex to the waves of that one planet that Human-Kat just had to âSurfâ.
âCan my friend Lola come meet us for the 34-OJ mission? Sheâs right in our pathway to that new planet? Please?â Huamn-Kat says and though they want nothing more then to say no, the crew of 626- Launch canât say anything else other then yes. They know how humans react when left alone for too long. Humans claim that their greatest criminals are placed in âsolitary confinementâ as punishment which goes very far to show how much bonds affect their life spans.
Human-Kat needs human interaction to stay alive and sane (or as sane as humans can be)
So the crew agrees to have Friend-Lola on the voyage, slightly terrified of having two humans. But when the new human arrives it is not what they expected.
âKat, have you finished your paperwork? Come on man, you know itâs due in like a day. Get on it.â
âWhoa dude, I love you ok. But no. You are not going to go surfing down there. Itâs for your own good.â
âGirl you got the promotion?! Yes! Ok Ok! We need to celebrate with girls night in!â
âHey I have some tissues in my bag somewhere hold on. There ya go.â
âLook at this game I picked up on RE-vrâ. Itâs just like Cards against Humanity but space!â
âGo. To. Sleep. Kat.â
âRemember that pact we made in high school? The one where I would stop you from doing something that will get you arrested or killed? Yeah well Iâm calling it into action and saying that you do not lick anything on a unknown planet!âÂ
This HumanâŚholds common sense? That is possible for that race?!
After Friend-Lola leaves they ask Human-Kat about this and she merely laughs while swiping through photographs she had taken with the other human.
âWell Lola is the mom friend.â
And the crew of 626-Luanch are so confused because they have already seen photos of Human-Katâs birth givers and they look nothing alike not to mention Human-Kat already has a Mom. Do humans have more then one âMomâ?
âOh you know a mom friend is the one friend in a group that keeps everyone else from dying.â Human-Kat jokes.
But the crew is amazed. They have learn the reason humanity havenât killed itself off. They send a message to every out post in the area.
If xe have a human on-board make sure that they are accompanied by a Mom Friend. These are the humans in charge of keeping other humans alive and well-behaved.Â
Yes! Â There is nothing wrong with phases, or taking time to find the terms that fit you, or changing your orientation. Â My understanding of myself has changed over time.
instead of assuring everyone that it âisnât a phaseâ, why donât we just assure everyone that if it is a phase itâs fine? itâs healthy to figure yourself out? because if we tell everyone itâs not a phase and it ends up being a phase, those people are going to feel guilty, like they stole resources or wasted time. Itâs not bad to âgo through a phaseâ. Itâs a healthy way of finding out who you are. And if it isnât a phase, thatâs fine too. But if it is, thereâs no reason to feel bad.
One of the soap vendors at my local Ren Faire has a big sign, âSOAP,â outside of their shop. There are bars of soap displayed prominently. The person handing out samples usually says, âWould you like a sample of soap?â or something similar. Â
They also have a chalkboard where they tally the soap eaters for the day. There are almost always at least 10-20. On a hot day, when people have been hitting the beer booths heavily, they can get more than 50.
The market for this card may be larger than you think.
Iâm still reeling over the fact when I went with my friend to a renaissance fair, there was a lady who was handing out samples. My friend took a bite of it and all I heard was
âMy lord thatâs soapâ
