frankie reminded me to write why barbie roberts and wednesday addams are ONE AND THE SAME. of course, that is from my own point of view since i'm writing them both with personal headcanons and everything. so here we go.
both barbie and wednesday have little to no knowledge about human emotions – they try to make it logical, but it almost never works out for them.
both barbie and wednesday have signature colors – fun fact, wednesday's signature color used to be pink too! also black and pink are really nice colors. i know black isn't technically a color but fight me, i stand by what i said.
both barbie and wednesday CANONICALLY (i don't agree with that bs) have something against men / masculinity overall. barbie dismisses ken just as wednesday dismisses xavier in the show. BOTH show some remorse by the finale.
both barbie and wednesday are defying stereotypes – the girly girl barbie breaks away from traditional gender roles while the goth barbie challenges typical perceptions of a young girl's interests. ALSO THEY ARE BOTH AIMED FOR LITTLE GIRLS!
both barbie and wednesday show the potential of dynamics between two or more people – barbie existence is linked with the other dolls (she has friends, boyfriend, even family members) && wednesday's existence is linked with her family (the infamous title: addams family values).
both barbie and wednesday are stubborn lil shits – look at any barbie movie and tell me she isn't stubborn af. look at any addams family movie or tv show or even comic and tell me wednesday isn't stubborn af. this is a dare. i dare you.
both barbie and wednesday are influenced by how the world perceives them – in the barbie movie, barbie went on a mental breakdown check when a girl called her a fascist. wednesday's villain origin story starts when she notices how her family's being treated by everyone else.

there's a dreadful sentiment digging at her chest, with metaphorical claws, that is. she wasn't worried about the speed, about the car, not even about herself. she was worried for him. lips pursed into a thin line, huffing through her nose. an intention arises, to rest her hand on his arm, to reassure him other than with words that it's going to be okay, but she doesn't follow through. instead, she just stares at him with her doe eyed crystal gaze, feeling sorry that she can't actually help him. it takes a while before she exhales all the air that she was holding, as she was trying to find the appropriate words to tell him – spoiler alert, none seemed to be kenough.
" dolls make mistakes too. " she wasn't defending anyone, but it was true, " and they hurt too. from my own experience the crocodile tears were first real tears. we – you are allowed to feel emotions. and i can't provide the answers to all those questions. but i know that it's no fun what you're feeling. " her gaze flickers to the road, it seemed awfully quiet, probably because everyone else was attending the party. " where are we going? because i have an idea that might help. "
She steps in, and he's off in an instant, pressing the gas peddle to the floor. The faster they leave, the better he'll feel, as wind whips through their hair, almost drowning out the music and her inquiry. Hands grip the steering wheel, and he keeps his eyes on the road in front of them, tempted to pretend he didn't hear her - but she's perceptive, and he's a mess, it would be foolish to act like everything's okay.
He turns down the music enough so it doesn't shake the car anymore, but provides enough background noise so it isn't awkward.
"I don't know." He's being truthful, looking anywhere but at her reflection in the mirror, "I thought he loved me. Why the hell was he kissing someone else? Why was he kissing Barbie?"
both hands delicately hover to hide the mouth — a manifestation of barbie's anticipation for gift giving surpassing even the enthusiasm for the holidays.. there was something too special about seeing another unwrap a present, knowing or otherwise what it contains. the way their eyes lit up with joy and the way a wide smile spreads across their features, as they return to the past, when they were kids and everything much easier. kids deserve to be happy and, unfortunately, for barbie everyone's a kid of someone else. which doesn't leave anyone she knows without a little present. cerulean optics observe chrissy intently, as if not to miss the peak of joy. a melodic chuckle escapes her throat upon hearing chrissy's first verbal reaction. hands clapped together as her fingers interlaced. ❛❛ yay, i'm so happy you're happy with it. at first i was thinking maybe i should bring you there and let you get your own bear, but then i thought about it and i couldn't spare you the element of surprise. ❜❜ unable to contain herself, she involuntarily spills the beans —. it was extremely difficult for her to keep such a secret hidden as it often overflowed her psyche. the compulsion to divulge or bestow presents promptly upon acquisition was simply insurmountable. ❛❛ luckily, i found something you can choose from. you have to come with me to the christmas market but you'll be picking what we'll do there. how's that sound? ❜❜
barbie has arrived to your inbox, chrissy. and guess what? she brought a pink care bear to which she put a santa hat on before badly wrapping it up. it was pretty obvious what was behind the red paper wrap, but barbie hopes the gesture overthrows the awful wrapping job she's done. ❛❛ this belongs to you. i thought i should give it to you before we go to the christmas market. i just couldn't wait until christmas. i hope you like it? ❜❜
---☁︎。⋆。 Chrissy's eyes absolutely lit up at the present. "You didn't have to get me anything," she nearly whispered out, taking the package from Barbie's hands. But the thought and excitement the woman showed made Chrissy excited to open it. The teen had a small hunch on what it could have been, but the excitement didn't lessen even as the younger carefully unwrapped the paper. (Chrissy had always been the type to make sure wrapping paper was taken off without any tears or rips. As pristine as she could keep it.) "Love-A-Lot Bear," she answered with a bit of aw in her voice, adjusting the little bear's hat. "Oh, I love it a lot," a giggle was evident in her voice at the slight pun. "Thank you. This really just started everything off in such a good spirit!"
was this soul crushing sentiment what heartbreak felt like? the questions pops up for only a brief moment before flashes of ken blinded her view — he was the perfect boyfriend, the perfect friend, the perfect anything anyone could ask for. and now, she has lost him. she enters veronica's house, wandering aimlessly inside, having little to no idea whether or not she wants to sit down. everything in her being urged her not to, she had to stay alert, to move around, maybe then she'd tire herself enough to not feel feelings anymore. " it's over! " she bawled, throwing her hands in the air ; barbie didn't know whether or not to wipe away the stream coming from her eyes, cover her face or succumb to the agony sprung from within. " i - i don't know how to be anything without him, vee. like – i understand i may have neglected him lately but i would've tried changing that. and now i'm afraid it's too late. " cue the desperate, unavoidable sobbing that passes rose rouged lips. " what am i gonna do? " hands fluttered once more, seeking refuge in the folds of her dress, only to emerge again to wipe away the constant stream of tears rolling down her flushed cheeks. with each erratic movement, her arms embraced the air around her ( despite being suffocating at this time ) , as if reaching out for a love that was no longer there, aching to hold onto what was now lost.
