house md tiktok headcanons (i have brainrot)
-i've said it before but i'll say it again, chase has an account where he exclusively posts thirst traps. he always does them like in the hospital or while wearing scrubs so ppl r like ""omg he's hot AND a doctor😍😍"
-house knows abt this tiktok. he lurks on a burner account and is waiting for the perfect time to blackmail him with it
-house also has a fairly popular account where he posts videos abt monster trucks
-cameron posts medical PSAs and stuff like that. good natured shit, yk
-foreman would refuse to download tiktok, but he'd watch facebook reels or youtube shorts for sure
-wilson's guilty pleasure is watching silly animal videos on tiktok. like he thinks tiktokt is bad for u, but he can't help going on it after a long day at work
-cuddy is a mommy vlogger.
-i have no idea where the idea of taub doing asmr came from but i love it and he would. i like to imagine he does those roleplay ones with a plastic surgery theme LMAOO
-thirteen doesn't really use tiktok, but she has it. maybe has a few friends only videos of her doing trends and stuff
-kutner would spent sooooo much time on tiktok. he'd come in talking abt all these niche trends and nobody would know what the fuck he's talking abt
i want to violently slam him against a wall (repeatedly)
i think i'm just sick of the idea of media consumption being an important avenue of expression of one's morality. like so much discourse online is focused on how to consume media in a morally correct and responsible manner and i no longer know what purpose it serves beyond making you feel like a good person. the ideology of these socially conscious fandom type spaces feels increasingly miserable, self-defeating, and disconnected from reality
I see you left a mark Up and down my skin, skin, skin I don't know where I end And where you begin...
House deleting the message that would let Wilson immediately move out of his apartment, staring at his sleeping body in silence while the soundtrack is playing "love will make you do wrong" is actually insane, the lost craft of queerbaiting
i wish so badly that we had gotten to see foreman and amber really really interact cause they're very like eachother in terms of narrative function and character. both of them ARE house, one step removed - foreman is black and amber is a woman, and neither of them can afford to be as messy and reckless as house can afford to be, because they know that they won't be seen as good enough even if they're right all the time. foreman is running from his personal life and feels like an outsider in every situation. amber understands her place and knows that if nobody likes her, she has to be right, to make up for it. both of them have the guts and the brains to be house, but they are just too far removed from the qualities about house that allow him to get to where he is in the world with very few barriers. they're both such fascinating examinations of what you can get away with when you're not at a disadvantage from the beginning
those close-up shots of House feeding a chemo-struggling Wilson his personal stash of Vicodin are among the most weirdly and profoundly (homo)sexual pieces of media ever
He's so done
Can I touch lightly on this topic? Have you ever loved someone that is emotionally manipulative? Someone who can mentally play you like an instrument? Have you ever had someone step into your life and slowly remove others from it? This person could have truly loved you, but loved you in a way that was so silently violent it changed you. Then, by the time you realized it and tried to pull away, you found pieces of them stitched into every part of you.
Now imagine after painstakingly cutting them out, stitch by stitch, they are thrust back into your life. Even worse, you realize you love them. No matter how much grief this relationship has caused you, you crave their love. Their fucked up love. You push away healthy love for this weird battle of wills.
I would throw us both off the cliff too. It makes perfect sense.
People who call every ship that has a little bit of hostility or is slightly fucked up, problematic and toxic, would not survive hilson or any house md ship.
The healthiest ship had a guy fake the drug trial his girlfriend was in and then fired her so he wouldn't lose his role as the leader of the team.
And the second healthiest is between the same guy and another guy who he claimed to have hated and also the other guy killed a dictator and had the first guy cover it up.
imo.... house has a fair bit more empathy than wilson. this bothers both of them immensely.
i think house is easy to perceive as unempathetic because his actions are often counter to acting with empathy or at least like... seem that way. but i think this is kind of a mistake and also kind of diminishes his responsibility in his actions? he absolutely understands when he's hurting people on purpose and he knows how they feel- that's, in part, why he does it. he is very hurt when people around him suffer in real ways and gets incredibly distracted by it. house lashes out when people are suffering in ways he cant meaningfully change because it hurts him and hurting that person is causing an emotion he has control of.
in my opinion wilson has a pretty normal amount of empathy for a doctor, which i think is maybe slightly less than an average person. i think he feels a kind of void about this though and i think he massively obsesses over being a good-enough person; wants to think morally good thoughts and feel morally good things and one of those things (to him) is a level of empathy he doesn't really have. i think this perceived failure leads him to extremes to compensate (like give up a large piece of his liver to a patient who sucks)
