Pixel party scene from a rejected poster design. Maybe I'll turn it into a Where's Cha-Cha-Charles poster.
Graphic Booklet: Male Emotions
Further character study for the graphic booklet’s male character. I needed to simplify my typical facial style to pull out the highs and lows I was looking for. Since the character has very little to say in the story, I needed a very expressive, cartoony body capable of movement aplenty.
Birds of Brooklyn Update
Still at work on the poster of the common birds of Brooklyn. This is where we stand at the moment. The plan is to do 15 birds for this poster, and 15 more for the rare birds version. This frequency rating is based on the Prospect Park Audubon’s statistics and my own wandering through my home park. Very excited to get this one wrapped up and printed!
TV - Adventure Time
I’ve been at my Home home in Maryland the past few weeks. I’ve been doing a whole lot of bicycling (they have hills here, real hills) and catching up on some design work. Being that there isn’t a whole lot of night life (not something I take much advantage of in NYC when I’m there but it’s nice to pretend I would), I’ve also been catching up on some television. I was completely unaware of one of the awesomest animated things ever made: Adventure Time. Completely hooked. Extra funny, some awesome character design, and moments of great stretchy animation. To a lesser extent, I’ve been playing some cell phone games too, one being Sword & Sorcery. And now, these two things combined.
Happy New Year Late!
This Christmas, I made my girlfriend a calendar and am still in the process of making. Every month it features different characters from comic books we both enjoy. Here we have the wonderful Lumberjanes. I went with the cover artist Noelle Stevenson's style and since it's the Year of The Goat - goats. Eleven more to come in this series. Enjoy some 2015.
Started a new collab project with my animator pal Mike Wechsler. Animation with these two folks coming real soon. Not to spoil, but they will be your instructors in fitness.
My buddy does an epic Wrestlemania party each year, so I made some "get out of a shot" cards for the various games where when you lose, you drink. I think it's the only way to get people pumped about wrestling if they're not already. I went with a few famous finishers here. I'm new to wrestling but I already know I missed the best guys, namely Hulk and Macho Man.
Legends of Rock #05 - George Harrison
Fab Four week continues with the lead guitarist for the boys from Liverpool. George seemed like a pretty cool guy, and seemed to stay cool for his entire career, which had to be hard. Big props to George.
