Started a new collab project with my animator pal Mike Wechsler. Animation with these two folks coming real soon. Not to spoil, but they will be your instructors in fitness.
Recently I was asked to complete a few videos for a company that makes official information about buildings and construction projects available to the public. Above is the main overview video addressing the problem of blight and how the software addresses it. It was a fun project and I’m pleased with the results. It allowed me to utilize a style that was fun and capable to telling a procedural story.
I took this project through all stages, completing storyboards, illustration, animation, recording voice-over, sound and music.
From the Hmph
I started recording some music again. Got a little album in mind with lots of guitar loops and lots of lyrics crammed into 2 minute and under songs. Tentative album title is Jacuzzi Juice. Alternate tentative title is Austin, The Man, Not the City. Here is one of the tiny tracks I recorded Sunday afternoon and a comic inspired by the tiny track!
Picturesque Sunset Reveals Park Slope Rooftop Deathmatch Cage
There was a lovely sunset the other night here in NYC. Stuck out the window of my third floor apartment, I got quite a view of the cotton candy sundown. It was very peaceful and a bit sad because it is the end of summer, and days of warmth and people living outside are numbered. As I reflected on this change, from out to in, blue to gray, green to brow-HOLY CRUD, THAT LOOKS LIKE A DEATHRINK! There it was, on the horizon, a shoddy looking cage, constructed of chainlink fence with some sort of hide stretched across the top. My roommate suggested it may be for pigeons. This is no aviary, it is a place for dandy Park Slope men to reconnect with their primal roots, I am sure of it. I plan on keeping an eye on this and I will keep you all posted!
Take a Septembral stroll with me through 10 new choice tracks. As usual, most are what's been on heavy repeat, filled in with classics from the vault that fit just right for a Septembral stroll. Enjoy.
Batman Moods: Heartbreak
About a year ago, I did a one-off drawing of Batman. I really liked it and only recently realized I could do more if I wanted! So, this will mark the reboot/kickstart of the Batman Moods series. First up, a broken hearted Dark Knight. Bruce Wayne seems like a tough playboy with stuff figured out, but you know that guy must have gotten his gut busted by a batlady at some point.
A quick GIF for the ongoing project that my graphics crew at mTV works on each day - a character or thing Drawn From Memory.
Recently had several conversations with folks about the history and current state of the Bond franchise. I'm a pretty huge fan of the series as a whole, but could be a whole lot happier about the current choices being made about the (historically) suave and cunning spy in the suit.
