Note: If aren't going to participate in Pro-Palestine action, do not mention it!

For accountability: This is how Magz plans support Palestine during Global Strike January 21 to 28.

Am going to put more Palestine posts in queue, with more focus.

Am going to not spend on anything during week, nor go out (rare anyway).

Am going to not publicly post our arts and promos (of art freelance work).

Am going to read and learn more on Palestine - as there still more can learn.

Am going to be even more visibly pro-Palestinian.

Am going to continue keeping up with what's happening in Gaza.

Am going to continue boycotting products and services on BDS' Boycott List, including not giving free social media promo and good impressions.

Am going to try learn Palestinian Arabic.

Am going to describe, transcribe, and alt text posts on Palestine when possible - to make it more accessible (Am Multiply Disabled).

Am going to share ways to help.

One of shorter checklist options:

Global Strike checklist.

no spending on your cards.

no work and no school.

participate in local action.

follow palestinian voices.

share footage from gaza.

comment + like palestine post.

message pro-palestine peers.

don't engage with other content.

Longer checklists:

For Palestine: Global Strike 21 - 28 January 2024

1. No Work
Don't go to work. Don't go to classes. Call out. Talk to your colleagues, organise it together. If you cannot strike the whole time, do an hour together in solidarity. Walk out. Put up signs on your desks and
anywhere visible, let people know about it.

2. Be Visible
Wear clothes and bags in support of Palestine. Make signs, banners and similar eye-catching gear. Walk around with them, position them in your window, on your desk, anywhere it's visible. Hand out stickers
and flyers and infographics.
3. Don't Buy Stuff
Prepare and buy what is needed beforehand. Avoid going to stores, don't buy anything online. If something is needed, stay visible (see #2) and avoid companies profiting from Israel's crimes (follow the BDS boycott and check out bdnaash.com). Do not buy luxury items or anything not urgently needed for survival.

4. Let the World Know
Talk to media about the strike. Post about it online, on social media and anywhere you can. Talk to people in your life about it. Invite people to strike with you. Spread the word as far as possible. Take part in local action.
5. Avoid Leisure Activities
Don't go to watch a movie or eat in a restaurant. Skip the drinks after work and don't try a new class right now. The goal is to be disruptive, hit the economy and be noticeably absent. If you cannot, follow the above: stay visible, stay loud, keep talking about Palestine.

6. Help Each Other
Ask unions for help. Cover for somebody, engage in mutual aid. Plan for disruptions. Don't try to be perfect - it makes you more likely to give up altogether. Do what you can and help others do what they can. We're stronger together.
7. Shut Social Media Down
Use social media only to spread posts about Palestine. Scroll past the rest, don't engage. Don't post anything else. Don't use apps otherwise. Let Palestinian content flood the online world during
strike days.

8. Whatever You Do, It Counts
You can't do it all? That's ok. Find ways you can take part in it. Post on social media, use common hashtags (#StrikeForPalestine #FreePalestine #CeasefireNow). Write a song, make art. Turn your knowledge into informative posts that can be shared. Be the voice of the silenced. The more you can do, the better.

But really just do *anything* that support and raise awareness *more*, learn, or contribute. Whatever can manage do n able sustain.

If wasn't able to prepare in time, can still participate for rest of week. Is not "all or nothing", don't have to give up. Keep Palestine in your thoughts and actions !

A Pragmatic and surprisingly comforting perspective about the Trump 2nd Presidency from the ACLU

***Apologies if this is how you found out the 2024 election results***

Blacked out part is my name.

M (name redacted) – The results of the election are in: Donald Trump will be the 47th President of the United States. I know these results create fear for many, particularly those whose communities have been most targeted and threatened by the President-elect's extreme rhetoric and policy proposals. If President-elect Trump comes for our communities, he's gotta get past all of us. President-elect Trump has been crystal clear about his plans to deport one million immigrants every year and target the enemy within – which, for Trump, means anyone who disagrees with him. He is dead serious about seeking retribution against his political opponents and deploying federal law enforcement to shut down protests and muzzle dissent. Guided by Project 2025, we are sure he will try to make good on those promises.
He and the administration officials he will put in place will work to attack the rights of LGBTQ people, implement archaic and cruel immigration policies, undermine press freedoms, and make it harder for Americans to vote. It is not hyperbolic to say that this president presents a clear and present danger to our democracy. But here at the ACLU, we're clear-eyed about the chaos and destruction a second Trump administration will cause to our nation. We're done with the hand wringing. We won't be admiring this problem. Instead, we are ready to take action the minute Trump takes the oath of office. The fact is, we're familiar with fighting a Trump White House. One week into Trump's first presidency, we were the first organization to challenge his Muslim ban. And when the administration sought to include a citizenship question on the 2020 census, the ACLU took that fight to the Supreme Court and won. It was our litigation that stopped the inhumane practice of separating immigrant families at the border.
The ACLU filed 434 legal actions against the first Trump administration's illegal and cruel actions – and we are prepared to fight again with the organization's full firepower. There is not a doubt in my mind that the ACLU is ready to meet this moment: We have a detailed playbook that breaks down exactly how to fight Trump's Project 2025 agenda. We have plans in place to litigate, legislate, and mobilize for reproductive freedom, immigrants' rights, LGBTQ rights, racial justice, and all civil rights and liberties – in the courts, in Congress, and in the streets. We have a nationwide network of affiliates that uniquely enables us to take our fights local and build firewalls against the worst of Trump's policies in every state across America.
M (name redacted), here at the ACLU, we play the long game. We've been around for 105 years. We've seen 19 presidents come and go. With your support, we will vigorously defend your right to protest and speak against our government. Especially when that government attacks our civil liberties and civil rights. The next four years will be challenging, but we'll be ready on day one. You can count on it. We're counting on you, too. In solidarity, Anthony Romero Pronouns: He, him, his ACLU Executive Director

I’m not going to let this make me give up. It’s disheartening, and today I will wallow, probably tomorrow too

AND

I will continue to do my part in my community to spread the activism and promote change for the world I want to live in. I want to change the world AND help with the dishes.

And I won’t let an orange pit stain be what stops me from trying to be better.

I think two of my favorite readers are fast food reader and everglades reader 🥰

Also the everglades reader posts immediately reminded my of Fluffy (the comedian) skit about the crocodile hunter. (Cant remember the actually words just the touch part lol).

Ever!reader: you see that?! That one right there has a bite force equal to biting into a boiled carrot! / This one is so venomous it could paralyze you faster than it take for you to fall to the floor!!

...

Ever!reader: I'm gonna touch/poke it! 🥰

"You see this little guy right here? This right here is a wandering spider - one of the most venomous spiders in the world. Nausea, severe pain, abdominal cramps, erections that can last for hours, breathing difficulties that can lead to death if not treated soon enough...."

You count off the small percentage of the list of symptoms you've mentioned so far with your fingers as the drider looms behind you. Little was quite the broad term to use for it. The creature was large enough to where they could probably fit your entire head between their fangs has they wished. It ponders how a human could be so brave to turn their back on a beast of their kind while rambling on about the very side effects they have a probable chance of inflicting you with at any given moment. Perhaps it was stupidity. Either way, the spider was positively enthralled by you and your nulled sense of danger. How on earth has a person like yourself survived out here for so long?

"Anyway, I'm gonna poke them."

The drider shifts - given little to no time to process your words as your finger pads the fuzzy layer of skin right where a nose would be if they had one. You laugh as all six of their eyes point towards the area of their face where your hand had touched.

"Boop!...See, this little guy is chill. Barely any reaction at all"

True be told, the drider was too stunned to move a muscle. No one's ever had the nerve to touch them like that. And which such a carefree attitude too. You truly had zero regards for your own safety -

Which only meant if you ended up in the spider's web there's really no one to blame for your disappearance but yourself. If anything they'd be doing you a favor by taking your well-being into their own hands.
