i think jinx is alive because otherwise it wouldn't make sense narratively. it would've been nasty, even.
this reminds me of the story arc of xiao in genshin impact. xiao is a character who doesn't see any worth in himself, he's a disposable weapon. he sacrificed his social life to his duty and would readily sacrifice himself, too. in one of the story quests he does exactly that, and gets saved by his father figure. and still to this day i see people who agree the developers should've let xiao died there because it would've shown the darker side of the game.
but why would that make sense? with both jinx or xiao, it would be such a bad tone to let the end of the openly suicidal character's arc be them succeeding in a suicide attempt, whether it's self sacrifice or not.
genshin devs made the statement of that quest that xiao is worth something and he needs to see it, and there always will be people ready to save and help him, and an attempt disguised as self sacrifice shouldn't be his first response. the same is applicable to jinx.
her ending overall makes sense. she had to be presumed dead so there aren't people chasing her trail, but she had to break the cycle by walking away. it's not the cycle of violence that many centrist stories about discrimination make, oh the two sides are just pointing fingers at each other and should just stop. because it's not what silco says. deaths following one another, people getting fed into the jaws of the system existed before, and this will continue. i think through the hallucination of silco jinx's mind arrives to the conclusion that the cycle of oppression is unbreakable for one person to try.
jinx isn't the one to stop it. jinx needs to walk away from all this pain. not because this is how oppression will stop, but because she just can't do anything else. wasteland sings how she wants to just rest. if death is like falling asleep, then she chooses death.
but writers choose to let her walk away in peace. because any other choice that isn't a happy ending would've shown that she was right all along when she tried to off herself. it's not a hopeful conclusion to her story, but in my opinion it makes sense.
Witches. Named after witches for their shared skill in brewery that no normal Player could master, but there was a difference between a witch, and a Witch.
Witches were beings that had learned to duplicate the powers of an admin, able to manipulate the natural world beyond a Player’s natural ability, to defy the laws of physics, and harness magic and potions beyond anything ever seen. Loved by the void, and all the oddities of the unnatural world.
They were a true rarity, one in one hundred servers.
And Tubbo was one of them.
—————————–
Or, Witch AU, because Witch!Tubbo is cool, and him using magic and being badass in general is cool.
Witches, as previously mentioned, are basically less powerful versions of Admins. They do not naturally have this power, however, they have the ability to harness items and magic that gives them it.
Witches and witches are different. Normal witches are the basic brewers. Witches, with a capital W, and sometimes Italics, if they’re the first word of sentence(because otherwise it’s confusing), are named because they share their brewery skills with them, but are otherwise classified as Players.
Since Witches are so rare, the majority of them have Titles. Some are inherited, some are gained, and some are given. These Titles aren’t just for flair, having a Title enhances a Witches prowess in a certain magical area, though it certainly doesn’t mean it’s the only one they have to work with.
Some Witches are the Coven, from X life, Aphmau, Eret, George, Karl, and probably some others, I haven’t figured it all out yet. Tubbo, before the Dream Smp, spends most of his time with the Coven, and is apprenticed to Lizzie.
Due to being hunted in the pasts for the abilities, Witches in general tend to hide their nature from all but each other. Of course, it’s illegal to go after them now, but better safe than sorry, and all.
Tubbo doesn’t have a Title yet, but when he eventually earns one, I was thinking something like the Sea Witch, with power of sea, because Captain Sparklez and stuff, or the Spruce Witch, with power over spruce biomes and all within it, because Snowchester and foxes.
Befriended Tommy many years ago, and went to the Dream Smp because he invited him. With the amount of things that happened, he didn’t have time to ask for help from the Coven or anyone else.
Kind of just an Au where he decides ‘no, no, I’m done letting people screw me over’, except instead of it being just nukes to protect Snowchester, he also decides to dip back into his magic and make all kinds of potions as well as dig out all his Witch-related items that he hid when he was in the Smp as not to be discovered.
He bonds with the Witches within the Smp, discovers Michael takes after him a bit more than he thought(his little Nether Witch, how cute), and Snowchester turns into a heavily fortified cozy town filled with many magical creatures waiting to devour anyone who upsets their master. The Coven comes to visit and help out too.
Maybe Kinoko Kingdom turns into something similarly magical, but a bit less fortified, since there’s two Witches there as well, and a demon. Quackity’s a bit confused, but supportive of their magical natures.
I’m torn between Tubbo’s familiar being a fox, or some bees, or some strange mob from X life or somewhere else that just decides to either keep low, or only follows Tubbo to the Smp after Snowchester starts coming along.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle AU.
Teens Tommy, Tubbo, Purpled, and Ranboo are supposed to spend their detention day clearing out the school’s basement-that goes south when they stumble upon a video game that’s much more than meets the eye, and are quickly dragged in over their heads.
Wilbur, Phil, and Techno are all brothers. Fundy has Alex’s role, stumbling upon the game years ago, and getting sucked in.
Phil is Tommy’s dad, however, he spends a lot of time trying to get Wilbur back on his feet after the loss of his son, to the point of Tommy often feeling neglected and unseen. Thus causing him to cause trouble in school to gain some of his father’s time.
Techno’s the teacher in charge of their detention, putting them together in hopes they’d forge a friendship.
Purpled has a disregard for authority, due to pretty much raising himself while his brother worked to keep a roof over their heads. He doesn’t see a reason to do things a certain way when he can do them much more efficiently his own way, leading him to get into arguments with his teachers quite often.
Tubbo is Tommy’s former childhood friend, the two drifting apart over time. He often gets in trouble purposely, to have an excuse not to go home to his father, Schlatt, who’s either drinking, or too busy working too acknowledge him.
And Ranboo is just a target for bullies, often getting dragged into fights and blamed for things he doesn’t do, to the point of seeing no reason trying to deny it when he’ll only get in trouble for it anyway.
When they’re dragged into Jumanji, they find themselves allied with NPCs that seem more human than not, and on a quest to complete the dangerous game in order to get home.
Tommy becomes Theseus Crafter, a young librarian with access to a ton of books and knowledge, and was in the jungle following his mentor, Ghostbur.
Ranboo becomes Ran Wastaken, the deadly assassin and younger sibling of antagonist Dream, who saw his brother’s corruption, and set off to stop him.
Tubbo becomes Tobias Halo, the youngest member of the Halo family, who are explorers and treasure hunters by trade.
Purpled becomes Hunter ‘Lavender’ Rose, blossoming botanist and cousin of underground fighter Hannah Rose.
Fundy is Ren Todd, a brilliant spy, who’s been working under Dream for years to collect info on him.
To finish the game, they’ll have to collect their various allies, free Dream from the Demon’s Mask, and return the jewel he stole to it’s rightful place in order to break the curse on the land.
📺 The Umbrella Academy
Necromancer AU.
Schlatt, Puffy, Dream, and Tubbo are a family descended from a long line of necromancers, and other magic users associated with death.
Schlatt and Dream got the direct Necromancer magic abilities. Raising the dead, and reviving them, and other abilties along those lines.
Puffy and Tubbo’s magic, on the other hand, revolves more around ghosts, and the like. Puffy specifically can contact and call upon those who died via the ocean.
Tubbo’s are much more varied, with him being able to do things as big as sharing his power with them to give them physical form temporarily, or as small as simply always being able to hear them.
He has a few ghosts who specifically like to stick by him. They often take the form of bees, mingling with the ones he cares for, and telling him what they learn of.
Quackity isn’t a necromancer himself, but he married into the family via Schlatt, and some magical marriage ceremony. When Schlatt died, he still stayed part of the family, and got custody over Tubbo.
You can only really marry into the family. So when Sapnap and Karl decided to get together with him, they had to ask Tubbo’s permission. Sapnap got it, Karl was a bit confused, but he’s learning.
When Puffy found Foolish, he was injured, and had to take on a smaller form in order to heal. She mistook him for a necromancer’s child, with how his magic felt, and took him under her wing, protecting and helping him.
The misunderstanding was cleared up soon after, but by then, Foolish was very much part of the family, and nobody had any intention of making him leave anytime soon.
There’s magical bonds between the family members. Tubbo’s bonds with both Schlatt and Dream shattered during the festival and the final control room respectively.
Not a lot of people actually know they’re necromancers. It’s not that they’re hiding it, to be honest, it’s just that most people aren’t really magically inclined enough to know the difference, and it’s never really come up.
Surprisingly, out of all the SBI, it’s Techno who’s aware of Tubbo’s status first. Long story short, the voices are spirits that have attached themselves to his bloodline, and Techno’s spiritually sensitive enough to understand them, but not see them. They were bothering him one day, and apparently, Tubbo too, since the boy asked him if he could make them quiet down.
Tubbo knows a lot of weird things and skills from ghosts. Sometimes they offer to teach him about what they did in their lifetimes, and he’s never been one to refuse knowledge.
Magic-users can share magic between them. It’s common practice between family and spouses. Quackity isn’t an active magic user himself, but he has a pretty impressive magic store, and knows a fair bit, after marrying into the family.
He used to share magic with Schlatt a lot, when the man insisted. It’s supposed to be a give and take thing, but Schlatt was more of a taker, so Quackity never fully understood the practice, and doesn’t really get why Tubbo is so careful with how much magic he takes when they do it.
The revival book is full of dark magic. It’s what corrupted Dream and Schlatt, bringing their worst traits to the surface with a hunger for power.
i'm curious
you can check which movie it was here!
pls reblog and put in the tags which movie it was :)
So…the fox sees the future.
Yikes.
Anyway. AU where Tubbo’s a fox hybrid like Fundy and they bond over that and look out for each other. Tubbo quickly becomes his favorite uncle, and is the first person who little Fundy tells about his spooky, weird dreams. He was gonna tell Eret too, the day of the Final Control Room, but, well…the sentence speaks for itself.
Tubbo ages normally because he’s more human, with just the ears, tail, slightly better senses, and some instincts. Meanwhile, Fundy can shift fully between a fox, human, and hybrid form, and has got the whole package, thus aging quicker. Basically just those two being close, and watching each other’s back, and maybe me seeing how much I can make this shift canon. Idk.
