I'm too stoked. I can't focus, can't work, I can't think about anything else right now. Here is some stoked music:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[Image description: A reindeer at nighttime, in the snow, with glowing antlers. Caption reads, In northern Finland, reindeer's horns are painted with reflective paint in order to avoid car accidents. End image description.]
[Image description: a tweet from user Stacy Cay (@stacykay) reading: If a trans woman became the world champion in bubble blowing you'd hear some shit about male saliva density and lip stiffness /End image description]
[Image description: text reading, #this is literally it. this has psychological support. #time as we perceive it "slows down" during new and/or challenging experiences #because our brains are encoding more details about the experience. more data = larger file size = a "longer" memory #hence time "slowing down" during highly stressful events. in fight/flight/freeze we take in A LOT of detail that we otherwise wouldn't # and one of the reasons childhood and adolescence feel so long in retrospect is because we were having novel experiences all the time! #the older we get the less "new" everything is #UNLESS we make an effort to continue learning and growing and trying new things whenever we can. #it's not only good for you but your life will literally feel longer. time will literally feel slower. #anyway i just think it's neat. :^) #psych #tags /End image description.]
literally though if you feel like your life is slipping through your fingers and every day goes too fast… try doing hard things, not just taking the easy route, like reading and making art and exercising and cooking a meal from scratch and journaling, doing these things without distraction, without being absorbed on a screen… the time will stretch and you’ll be reminded that life is long and beautiful if you make it so.

I love how much Dulcie cares for Eddie, and I love seeing the reasons why she feels that way, what it is about Eddie that she responds to. I really got such a physical sense of Dulcie, from reading this, of how she feels in this situation -- her intense need to find Eddie, to make sure Eddie is okay. This whole fic really made me go "Oh, my heart."
These two. I love them so, and @groovebunker has captured them so well, here.
Also: many of us have written fics in which Cath gets her shit together, and I like those; but I also like seeing Dulcie notice the ways Cath is really not behaving well, in this moment. Cath in canon is very unskilled, and it's refreshing to see that acknowledged.
Ugh. This really is just so lovely, and it really stayed with me after reading. Go read, enjoy, comment. <3 (Previously: Deadloch fic rec list)

“I'm lucky enough to live close to the Camargue, a perfect place to photograph pink flamingos (Phoenicopterus roseus). This image shows a flamingo searching for prey in a muddy pond. The photograph was taken late in the day, with light cloud cover. Positive exposure compensation produced the high-key effect. The result reminded me of a paintbrush covered in ink.”
