ES|| He hecho una nueva versión del caracolito enamorado. Hace muchísimo tiempo que tenia el esbozo y el apunte de color hecho en procreate y también realice una versión de la misma ilustración en formato vertical para la exposición de postales de @gallerynucleus . Además tengo pendiente una nueva versión donde quiero experimentar con mucho más gouache y menos acuarela! 🐌 En las imágenes podéis ver el resultado final, el primer paso con solo una capa de acuarela y gouache para el azul del fondo, y el esbozo. Por cierto recordad que si queréis tener o regalar una de las postales de la exposición aun las tenéis disponibles en la tienda online de la galería! EN|| I’ve made a new version of the little snail in love. It's been a long time since I had the sketch and the color tests made in procreate and I also made a version of the same illustration in a vertical format for the power in numbers exhibition at @gallerynucleus . I also have a new version pending where I want to experiment more with gouache and use less watercolor!🐌 In the images you can see the final result, the first step with just a layer of watercolor and gouache for the blue in the background, and the sketch. By the way, remember that if you want to have or gift one of the postcards from the exhibition, you still have them available in the gallery's online store!

Ya hace casi un año hice una ilustración enorme de un bosque fantástico inspirado por mi amor a la lectura y las infusiones. Con todo esto de la cuarentena os la vuelvo a compartir! EN|| Sharks are one of the most endangered animals on planet Earth, it’s estimated that in the last 50 years their population has been reduced by 70%. There’re 17 different species of shark in danger of extinction, like this one in the illustration, the Carcharias Taurus. This problem is especially significant in the Atlantic where fishing fleets can deploy 1,200 km of fishing lines with 28,000 hooks where all kinds of animals are trapped, especially sharks. Furthermore there’s also the indiscriminate fishing of the babys, which, taking into account that most shark species are characterized by having a low reproductive rate, a slow growth rate and late sexual maturation, makes it impossible for sharks to overcome their population decline, making them very susceptible to overfishing. On the other hand, climate change also affects sharks, the water temperature is increasing, the oxygen content of the water is decreasing, especially in coastal areas, and the waters are becoming more acidic. One of the main reasons why protection measures have not been put in place for these species is because the shark meat market has many economic interests, since it’s used for cosmetics, nutrition products and food. Sharks, due to their importance in the food chain, play a fundamental role in the sustainability of marine life and in the ability of these ecosystems to mitigate and adapt to climate change. ES|| Los tiburones son uno de los animales más amenazados del planeta Tierra, se calcula que en los últimos 50 años su población se ha reducido un 70%. Hay 17 especies distintas de tiburón en peligro de extinción, como este de la ilustración, el Carcharias Taurus, también llamado tiburón Toro o “Solraig clapejat” en catalán. Este problema es especialmente significativo en el Atlántico donde la flotas pesqueras pueden llegar a desplegar 1.200 km de líneas de pesca con 28.000 anzuelos donde quedan atrapados todo tipo de animales, sobretodo tiburones. A todo esto se le añade la pesca indiscriminada de crías, que teniendo en cuenta que la mayoría de especies de tiburón se caracterizan por tener una baja reproductividad, una tasa de crecimiento lenta y una maduración sexual tardía, hace imposible que los tiburones se sobrepongan al declive de su población haciéndolos muy susceptibles a la sobrepesca. Por otro lado el cambio climático también afecta a los tiburones, la temperatura del agua esta aumentando, el contenido de oxigeno del agua esta disminuyendo sobretodo en las zonas costeras y las aguas se están acidificando. Uno de los principales motivos por los que no se han creado medidas de protección para estas especies es porque el mercado de la carne de tiburón mueve muchos intereses económicos, ya que se usa para cosméticos, productos de nutrición y para alimentación. Los tiburones, debido a su importancia en la cadena trófica, tienen un papel fundamental en la sostenibilidad de la vida marina y en la capacidad de estos ecosistemas para mitigar y adaptarse al cambio climático. ES|| Me da la sensación que el verano se ha acabado en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. Un día iba con camiseta de tirantes y al otro con un jersey! Aunque aún hay días, o mejor dicho momentos, que aun hace un calor aplastante, el frío se esta abriendo camino súper rápidamente. Parece que el otoño y la primavera vayan difuminándose y solo sepamos en que época del año estamos por las lluvias y los días acortándose. Por una parte me da pena que se acaben los días de tomar el sol (o como me gusta decir a mi “hacer la fotosíntesis”), los colores brillantes de la naturaleza, los días increíblemente largos, las fresas, la sandia, el melón y todos las maravillosas frutas de verano y los pantalones cortos, pero, por otro lado, ya viene el tiempo de dormir con el nórdico, cosa que me encanta! Y para despedir los días largos de sol y el calor un trocito de una ilustración antigua con aires muy veraniegos!🍉 EN|| I get the feeling that summer has gone by in the blink of an eye. One day I was wearing a tank top and the other a sweater! Although there’re days, or rather moments, when it’s still overwhelmingly hot, the cold is making its way super quickly. It seems autumn and spring are fading away and we only know what time of year we are due to the rains and the days getting shorter. On one hand, I’m sorry that the days of sunbathing (or as I like to say “to photosynthesize”), the bright colors of nature, the incredibly long days, strawberries, watermelons, melons and all the wonderful summer fruits and shorts are over, but on the other hand, it's getting so much closer the time to sleep with the duvet, which I absolutely love! And to say goodbye to long sunny days, a piece of an old illustration with a very summery atmosphere!🍉

ES|| Esta soy yo y mi gato imaginario.☀️ Para los que no me conozcáis: Me llamo Anna Valpuesta Farré y soy ilustradora infantil. Nací y vivo en Barcelona y me apasiona crear personajes adorables que solo con mirarlos me saquen una sonrisa. En mis tiempos libres soy una voraz devoradora de libros y siempre llevo una taza o termo de infusión de hierbas en la mano (fresquita en verano y calentita en invierno). Me encanta la naturaleza y los animales, siempre voy mirando los pájaros, las flores y plantas, las abejas y cualquier animalillo que me pase por delante… Me fascina descubrir animales que no sabía que existían en el mundo y tengo una llista mental de animales que sería un sueño ver en directo en su hábitat natural. Por este motivo siempre aparece naturaleza en mis ilustraciones. Ahh! Y me gusta hacer fotos, pero no que me las hagan y creo que esta es la primera vez que hago un autorretrato!! 🌻🐝

EN|| This is me and my imaginary cat.☀️ For those of you who don't know me: My name is Anna Valpuesta Farré and I’m a children's illustrator. I'm from Barcelona and I’m passionate about creating adorable characters that just by looking at them make you smile. In my free time I’m a voracious devourer of books and I always carry a cup or a thermos of herbal tea in my hand (cool in the summer and warm in the winter). I absolutely love nature and animals, I’m always looking at birds, flowers and plants, bees and any little animal that passes by...
