ESP|| No sé si soy yo o el tiempo esta un poco loco, un día voy en tirantes i pantalones cortos y el otro voy más abrigada que este dinosaurio! Diría que ya podemos guardar las bufandas en el armario hasta el año que viene pero no lo tengo tan claro… ❄️☀️🌜 Os gusta este personajillo? Lleva escondido des de principios de año, a diferencia de mi, ella ve que nieva y no piensa en hibernación, si no que coge su patinete y sale a intentar ser mas veloz que el viento! Pequeño esbozo realizado en @procreate inspirado a partes iguales en el emoticono de Whatsapp que me encanta y me tenia obsesionada hasta que descubrí los stickers de Telegram, en Piecito de “En busca del valle encantado” (una memoria lejana de mi infancia) y en @animalsmechanic 🦕 ENG|| I don't know if it's me or the weather is a bit crazy, one day I'm wearing tank tops and shorts and the other I'm wearing more scarves, coats, sweaters,… than this dinosaur! I would say that we can keep the scarves in the closet until next year, but I'm not so sure anymore... ❄️☀️🌜 Do you like this character? She has been hiding since the beginning of the year, unlike me, she sees that it’s snowing and she doesn’t think about hibernation instead she takes her longboard and goes out to try to be faster than the wind! ES|| Esta soy yo y mi gato imaginario.☀️ Para los que no me conozcáis: Me llamo Anna Valpuesta Farré y soy ilustradora infantil. Nací y vivo en Barcelona y me apasiona crear personajes adorables que solo con mirarlos me saquen una sonrisa. En mis tiempos libres soy una voraz devoradora de libros y siempre llevo una taza o termo de infusión de hierbas en la mano (fresquita en verano y calentita en invierno). Me encanta la naturaleza y los animales, siempre voy mirando los pájaros, las flores y plantas, las abejas y cualquier animalillo que me pase por delante… Me fascina descubrir animales que no sabía que existían en el mundo y tengo una llista mental de animales que sería un sueño ver en directo en su hábitat natural. Por este motivo siempre aparece naturaleza en mis ilustraciones. Ahh! Y me gusta hacer fotos, pero no que me las hagan y creo que esta es la primera vez que hago un autorretrato!! 🌻🐝

I'm from Barcelona and I’m passionate about creating adorable characters that just by looking at them make you smile. In my free time I’m a voracious devourer of books and I always carry a cup or a thermos of herbal tea in my hand (cool in the summer and warm in the winter). I absolutely love nature and animals, I’m always looking at birds, flowers and plants, bees and any little animal that passes by... It fascinates me to discover animals that I didn’t know existed in the world and I have a mental list of animals that It would be a dream come true to see live in its natural habitat. EN|| This year I’ve the pleasure of participating in the collective exhibition “Power in numbers 7” at @gallerynucleus in Alhambra (California, USA) with four original postcards. Here you can see a close up of my favorite postcard “marine wildlife” full of little fish with chubby cheeks and pink lips. I’m a little sad to say goodbye to the piece but I hope it finds a great house where it’s appreciated and loved! If you want to buy it, the exhibition opens on September 3, however you can find more information on the gallery’s website. Not only it’s my favorite illustration (how can it not be… have you seen the little crab’s eyelashes?!) but I’ve also had a great time painting it, I used watercolors, gouache, polychromos and neocolors. By the way! Which little fish is your favorite? I’m in love with the yellow one on the top! 💛 

 ES|| Este año tengo el placer de participar en la exposición colectiva “Power in numbers 7” en la @gallerynucleus en Alhambra, California, USA, con cuatro postales originales. Aquí podéis observar un trocito de mi postal favorita, la vida marina, llena de pececitos con mofletes y morritos rosados. Me va a dar mucha penita despedirme de ella pero espero que encuentre una casa genial donde la aprecien! Si queréis comprarla la exposición se inaugura el 3 de setiembre aunque podéis encontrar más información en la web de la galería. No solamente es mi ilustración favorita (como no lo va a ser… habéis visto las pestañitas del cangrejo?!) sino que me lo he pasado genial pintándola, está realizada con acuarelas, gouache, polychromos y neocolors. Por cierto! Que pececito es vuestro preferido? Yo estoy enamorada del amarillo de la parte superior!💛

ES|| He hecho una nueva versión del caracolito enamorado. Hace muchísimo tiempo que tenia el esbozo y el apunte de color hecho en procreate y también realice una versión de la misma ilustración en formato vertical para la exposición de postales de @gallerynucleus . Además tengo pendiente una nueva versión donde quiero experimentar con mucho más gouache y menos acuarela! 🐌 En las imágenes podéis ver el resultado final, el primer paso con solo una capa de acuarela y gouache para el azul del fondo, y el esbozo. Por cierto recordad que si queréis tener o regalar una de las postales de la exposición aun las tenéis disponibles en la tienda online de la galería! It's been a long time since I had the sketch and the color tests made in procreate and I also made a version of the same illustration in a vertical format for the power in numbers exhibition at @gallerynucleus . I also have a new version pending where I want to experiment more with gouache and use less watercolor!🐌 In the images you can see the final result, the first step with just a layer of watercolor and gouache for the blue in the background, and the sketch. By the way, remember that if you want to have or gift one of the postcards from the exhibition, you still have them available in the gallery's online store!

ESP || El otro día fui a ver un nido de cigüeñas, son unos pájaros tan preciosos y elegantes! En esta “nueva normalidad” me calma muchísimo ver los animales seguir con su vida, volar libres, cuidar de los suyos Las cigüeñas habitan en el norte de África, Europa y algunas regiones de Asia central y oriental. Aunque siempre han sido una especie migratoria, se ha incrementado notablemente el número de aves sedentarias y muchas de las aves que aún migran han acortado las distancias alimentándose principalmente en vertederos y arrozales. Durante años la población de esta hermosa especie ha fluctuado bastante; algunas de sus amenazas más importantes son: episodios de sequia, perdidas de hábitats de alimentación, transformaciones agrarias, uso de pesticidas generalizado, caza ilegal, choques contra tendidos eléctricos, eliminación de nidos… Detalle de la ilustración “viajar leyendo” repleta de flores de todos colores, como el edelweiss, blanca como la nieve donde vive. ENG || The other day I went to see a stork nest, they’re such beautiful animals! In this "new normality" it calms me to see the animals go on with their lives, taking care of their own. Storks are a bird that lives in North Africa, Europe and some regions of Central and East Asia. Although they’ve always been a migratory species, the number of sedentary birds has increased significantly, and many of the birds that still migrate have shortened their distances significantly feeding mainly on dumps and rice fields. For years the population of this species has fluctuated quite a bit; some of its most important threats are: drought episodes, loss of feeding habitats, agrarian transformations, widespread use of pesticides, illegal hunting, collisions with power lines, the elimination of nests...
