We’re snowed-in here in Baltimore, and it’s making me miss warmer weather, green things, flora...

So here is a beer label I designed and illustrated for Union Craft Brewing’s special spring-time saison that they crafted exclusively for Atomic Books in Hampden. A wonderful pairing of comics “for mutated minds” and a light, fruity ale.

I've always wanted to illustrate beer and wine labels and this was a really fun way to dip my toe in. I hope I get the chance to do more!

Reblogging my own post because GOBLIN. THE GOBLIN. IS IN BALTIMORE. TOnight. And I'm gonna see them and wear my own dumb shirt and it's gonna be the strangest, most rad time, and everyone? go ahead. be jealous.

"Suzy, Do You Know Anything About…witches?"

"Suzy, do you know anything about…witches?"

Suspiria, a masterpiece by Dario Argento. This trippy, amazingly surreal horror film is the subject of my newest tshirt design for Pizza Party Printing's upcoming movie night at the Ottobar. They'll be showing not only Suspiria, but the 1989 horror, The Church (paired with a fucking metal shirt by Jimmy Giegerich), so if you’re in Baltimore at the end of the month, be there! Immerse yourself in blood and beer (and the music of the one, the only Goblin). It’s gonna be spooky.

The Suspiria shirt is up for sale now at Pizza Party! Pick one up while you can!

cartoon quickdraw

Cartoon Quickdraw

Cartoon Quickdraw is a fun and likely goofy journey into nostalgia in which you choose a classic cartoon character (video games too), draw them in a minute from memory and throw the drawings into a pile. The drawings are revealed, the best and worst are chosen and, in hard core versions of the game, the worst drawing gets tattooed in permanent marker on its artists' arm. Fortunately we didn't do that when we played last night or I would have a totally wrong Rocko-as-a-puppy, a doofy Megaman or a ridiculous Foot soldier (TMNT!) on my arm right now. Can you figure out the rest of the characters?

Good way to keep your doodling fresh, but more importantly just hilarious times (note backwards-hand Sonic).

Saturday is the opening of Q Pop's Akira Toriyama tribute show in honor of Dragon Ball's 30th Anniversary. Here's my little contribution: the two sides of Launch, a quirky character that I've always loved. Details for the event here.

Hi! I was wondering if it's possible to submit art for the twin peaks zine, or if you're just selecting from certain artists you know. I'd love to make sure that there is some log lady coverage in the publication, but let me know when you have the time. Thanks!

Hi there! I'm late in replying to this. Sorry about that!

I've been asked this question many times now, so consider this my general answer to everyone. Thanks so much for asking, but unfortunately, I invited the artists in the Twin Peaks zine to take part privately, so submissions were never open. This is my first anthology-style zine, so I debated for a while whether I wanted to open up submissions for it, or curate artists by invitation. In the end I felt more comfortable asking artists because I simply wasn't sure if many people would respond to an open invitation. But folks seem really psyched about it, which is just fantastic, and even though the zine is now full-up with artists, it appears an open call would have worked out fine! I'm only sorry I can't make a book out of everyone's work. Next time, if I make another one, I plan to open it up for submissions.

And don't worry! The Log Lady will get plenty of love!
