#polblr would be uninhabitable if we ever got a real canon anime Adam Mickiewicz or Juliusz Słowacki#but I'm not sure how much sense would it be to put them in bsd tbh#I did draw it once but it's more of a realm of 'wouldn't it be fucked up if...'#personaly I'd go with Tuwim#wouldn't say no to a bsd Gombrowicz too#he'd be fun and quite in line with bsd themes I think three bards feat Norwid and Wyspiański as a whole-ass faction? Gombrowicz to snark at them? There is 0 reason for them to be in BSD proper unless the plot somehow moves directly to Europe. That said, wiki mentions Micky met Goethe - an opportunity for a gaiden-esque story with some vague Buraiha-but-with-travelling-Natsume parallels
everyone has those authors that you would be so unhinged about if they were introduced in bsd right?
mine are: emily dickinson (it might be too late for her but I’m in denial), franz kafka, and any german author but especially goethe (c’mon asagiri give us the rest of the transcendents) and schiller. I’m not able to describe how unhinged I would be if any of them get introduced
The stereotype of the ugly, unfuckable feminist exists for a reason – because it’s still the last, best line of defence against any woman who is a little too loud, a little too political. Just tell her that if she goes on as she is, nobody will love her. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’ve always believed that part of the point of feminist politics – part of the point of any sort of radical politics – is that some principles are more important than being universally adored, particularly by the sort of men who would prefer women to smile quietly and grow our hair out
If you’re a feminist you’ll be called a man-hater. You don’t need rebranding (via nothingman)
LET'S GO WE FINALLY GOT HIS NAME!!!
I know it has some deep meanings but it's funny his name is just literally cicada
Also the ep47 name is Lament of My Wingless Body,i wonder if it was hinting us his name.To think asagiri had already named him but just decide to tell us on a random day lol.It can be about the episode but i don't remember details about it.
oooo this is cool!! i didn’t know he was given a name, thanks for the info :D
the episode name could mean many things. i haven’t put too much thought into it until now actually.
id assume a wingless body would be a metaphor for possibly someone not being able to escape something? kind of an opposite to the phrase "spread your wings" as a way to motivate someone to move/change?
in lament of a wingless body could be grieving the time she couldn’t escape? in reference to yosano grieving the past (possibly grieving shunzen here)?
or lament of a wingless body could be her grieving shunzen(which you said means cicada), like you had said! i like this idea a lot actually
The Nine of Swords is a Minor Arcana tarot card, also known as the Lord of Cruelty. (…) If this card is shown in an upright position, it can mean deception, premonitions and bad dreams, suffering and depression, cruelty, disappointment, violence, loss and scandal. However, all of these may be overcome through faith and calculated inaction. This is the card of the martyr and with it comes new life out of suffering (…) If the card is shown in an ill-dignified or reversed manner then it has a different meaning. When turned this way it means distrust, suspicion, despair, misery or malice. Total isolation away from comfort and help: institutionalization, suicide, imprisonment and isolation. However, in a generally positive spread, the reversed meaning of this card can also indicate that the nightmare may be ending. The Nine of Swords reversed can actually be a hopeful card, counselling faith in the future and the promise of better days ahead.
- sure, on wikipedia it's unsourced but seems to cross-ref well
life choices
also: if the answer is vampires AND he relies on them so damn much, why isn't entire Meursault turned. ...does it mean that the fact he didn't despite it giving him an advantage (and vampires can hide in the populace) make his control freak tendencies an Informed Ability?
thanks for prompting me to come to that conclusion, i hate it.
which was beside the point; if entire prison is under his control (if it wasn't it means the majority of wardens of the prison for the most dangerous just... failed a spot check. collectively. While moving in a prisoner whose ability they do not fully know) Chuuya offing guards would immediately cue a setup for "now that you have killed your partner Would You Kindly now stay where you are as i initialize (already did) shutdown-drowning sequence (which he already knows Chuuya cannot stop, taking advantage of 101) for that corridor so you can join him.". Since Dostoy does discard everyone after 1 use--
--psyche! topic hijack.
Imagine Dazai's gloating making sense. If different arguments(1) were used all this would grate less and the ending(2) note would be more cohesive. The cohesiveness would disarm our whining somewhat. Fukuchi who trusted media/the government/HD (=other people) getting rekt + Dostoy who trusted Fukuchi getting rekt vs Fukuchi who probably could get Fukuzawa/HD in on it with charisma (and having to prepare for it i.e. refine his political theory) but didn't and thus gets rekt + Dostoy who could rely on his hand-picked manipulated underlings but didn't and thus gets rekt.
1.1) not reusing underlings; to do so would mean expending resources/taking risks to bail them out of various states of capture, but doing so would set up persuading that Dostoy is not a completely terrible boss which would mean MORE investment + trusting them to not fuck up. "laze all day so others with do things for me" is useless on purpose.
1.2) 'underlings are less useful when controlled with fear/when they get something out of it' with Sigma as exhibit A. Dostoy works them presumably for months/weeks/days and Dazai persuades them in under 20mins.
2) option i haven't seen elsewhere: meta-plot twist that it looks like manga is catching up to anime but actually reroutes elsewhere. That aside, between that, plot twist: actually dead, plot untwist: BSD plot armor i'm not feeling ANY of the options, chief. Especially the last one: this would be setup for lining up for F. Dostoevsky's imprisonment and Crime and Punishment. Which would include Dostoy changing his mind while recovering, but given how hydra-like multiple bitching sessions have been so far.....
kind of wild that fyodor expected that dazai would die in meursault when bro has literally cheated death in front of him before. like did dead apple mean nothing to you babygirl?
carmen as nyarla with boobs: their function is roughly the same, tho in early Personas nyarlathotep targets specific people as part of their game with philemon, who would be… ayin? uh.
does that mean qliphoth deterrence works on personas
manifesting personas as weapons/suits
peccatulums ranking as cannon fodder oppositions in palaces distortion-spaces, does that mean that they can also manifest from thin air?
re: reloads; they don't really match to the 'embodiment of self/desires' so probably not. That said: then Head cracks down hard on them for unpatented/untaxed ammo production
negotiations, but steamlined into MD event setups. and to add to that - REMOVING SMT FROM PERSONA
shadow-possession (P1?/P2/P4) as a full-blown distortion
finally handling jungs "overpowered by their own persona" - with a distortion, naturally
pls elaborate about the sufficent velocity thing
because we need more persona project moon crossover stuff hot dang
the well and the sea of souls are like. if they aren't the same thing, they're right next to each other. joker has a fusion accident and ends up with mountain of smiling bodies instead of legion.
give me a plucky teenager who summons One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds as their starter persona.
NETZACH QUEST IN PERSONA 3 IT FITS SO MUCH DAMN (if you're a Sufficient Velocity person you know what i'm talking about)
Post Persona 5 bad ending AU where after getting absolutely wiped from existence, the PT wake up in The City. It's just the logical conclusion to that bad end, where no one is free and only thinks about surviving to the next day. No one hopes, no one dreams, no one believes in anything. The strong crush the weak, the weak gang up on the weaker, and the cycle goes on and on and on. Literally their worst case scenario nightmare.
On that note, Carmen and crew really saw the Fall of Humanity and went "I can fix them!" (they could not)
Considering The Library is made of Light, which is like, concentrated enlightenment and hope, I think Morgana would be drawn to it (and then they all get booked lmao)
Carmen's Palace. Just in general. If she even has one; it's not that her desires aren't distorted, it's that SHE IS THE DISTORTED/ING DESIRE INCARNATE-
Joker manages to capture an Abnormality as a Persona somehow. Shenanigans ensue.
Speaking of shenanigans, considering the way the mind manifests in The City, I wonder if the PT's guns would do that thing they do in Royal where they automatically reload after a fight. On that note, I feel like that trick would fail against higher level humans since their augments likely let them see past the fakeness
JOKER 👏 AND 👏 AKECHI 👏 GONE 👏ANGELS 👏 ANI 👏MATIC👏 YOU 👏 COWARDS 👏👏👏/lh
add more if you like, i would love to discuss further
Vladimir Nabokov predicted emoticons in an 1969 interview and little recently has excited me as much as this tidbit.
(p.114, Strong Opinions, Nabokov)
@raytyger thank you! real insight into cardgames = gained!
ahaha assumed magic, too has "increase" != "becomes". But it turns out it doesn't have truly wild rulings on lingering statchanges xD
good enough to boost.
By the way, I've heard talks of death threats and/or someone camping out at project moon's office, can someone please share a source on that? I'm genuinely not sure where to look, is all.
