Have You Heard The Voice Lines For Superman And Batman In The Multiversus Game?

Have you heard the voice lines for Superman and Batman in the Multiversus game?

"I know, the ice breath seems a little out there to some people, but boy does it come in handy when you're eating buffalo wings"

"Once a secret organization makes a teenage clone of you it's hard to be surprised anymore"

"Seeing all these different dimensions really makes you think. I wonder if there's one where Krypton is still around"

"Can I tell you something? I'm concerned about what Luthor's up to while I'm gone. He can be crafty...and surprisingly charming" HELLO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN

"Boy, Lois isn't going to believe this one when we get home...hope she's okay"

"Did anyone ever tell you about the time I was made of blue electricity? The 90's were wild"

"You like Beef Bourguignon?"

"You checked on Bruce--uh, Batman lately? I always worry about him. It's the brooding, you know?"

"Justice never sleeps...but I should occasionally"

"Morning! I could go for some green juice, or maybe creatine"

"This is the time of day Alfred would start hounding me to eat something"

"Alfred always decorates the manor this time of year. And every year I pretend I don't like it"

THESE VOICE LINES ARE ACTUALLY IN CHARACTER?? AND THEY'RE SURPRISINGLY WHOLESOME FOR A FIGHTING GAME

LOOK, IT’S LITERALLY EVERYONE

I’ve already posted a few of these designs, but just for simplicity’s sake: HERE ARE ALL OF THE REDESIGNS for Golden Bat: Reimagined!

You might notice an extra character you don’t recognize: Priestess Amelia is a cult leader character created by @babblingbrookebutler for the sake of fleshing out the story some, and, well…

…she kinda ties directly into Mr. Dark Bat up there.  If he looks like Golden Bat, gone Berserk Mode… good.

And yes, even Penny got a redesign.  *mutters something about Penny only showing up in 2 episodes and is really just a minor character at best*

Anyhoot, this character design livestream was an absolute delight, and I can’t thank everybody who came out to it enough for all of your wonderful and helpful input!  It’s been a blast, everyone, and I hope y’all enjoy the designs!

Meet Melon's Pack! As The Story Of Melon's Adventure Progresses, We Will Eventually See Some, If Not

Meet Melon's pack! As the story of Melon's Adventure progresses, we will eventually see some, if not all, of these yoshi buddies, so what better way to introduce them than to show off their looks? :)

In order of appearance (in the full lineup image), we have:

Bread (brown yoshi): A very sweet yoshi with a love for bread. Interestingly, yoshis don't really cook... or bake. So where exactly does he get his baked goodness?

Butter (yellow yoshi): Bread's twin sister. She's feisty and fast, and has an odd love for butter. She's willing to eat it by itself, much to her brother's chagrin.

Coconut (blue yoshi): An inquisitive yoshi with a love for coconuts! He spends most of his time exploring the beaches of the island, sniffing for his favorite treat and for any treasures he can take home.

Chili (red yoshi): A large yoshi with a hot temper, and even hotter tastes; they love spicy foods, but especially chili peppers! They're quick to frustrate and is sometimes overly strict, but is fiercely loyal and protective of their packmates. They take their role as protector very seriously, and is often the one to join Fig on her patrols.

Potato (purple yoshi): A large, chomky yoshi with a love for potatoes! She love to eat and is always hungry, but is also very generous; when they forage for food she makes it a point to try and find every tasty morsel she can for her packmates. No one goes hungry on her watch!

Pitaya (pink yoshi): The smallest yoshi in the pack, Pitaya is a little lazy and prefers taking naps under the warm sun over any of the chores his packmates task themselves with. Still, he has the strongest nose in the pack, making him their best tracker. His favorite snack is Dragon Fruit!

Melon (green yoshi): The main character of the story and the leader of the pack! Melon is adventurous, kind, and curious; he isn't afraid to venture into the more dangerous parts of the island if it means mapping out safe paths for his pack. In fact, that was what he was doing when Mario landed on his head. His favorite snack is watermelons!

Fig (black yoshi): The largest, strongest yoshi of the pack, Fig is Melon's trusted second-in-command. Her scars are a testament to the fights she's fought for the safety of the others, and she always came out on top, even if it came with a price. She has a permanent limp and is also the oldest of the pack; in fact she was the leader before she passed the status to Melon. Her favorite snack are figs!

These little rascals are all gonna be available as stickers and a stickersheet in my store's launch: Debuting TOMORROW! ;w;

Stay tuned! ^.^

On This Day, 9 December 1842, One Of The Founders Of Contemporary Anarchist Communism, Peter Kropotkin

On this day, 9 December 1842, one of the founders of contemporary anarchist communism, Peter Kropotkin was born. An activist, scientist, and philosopher, he abandoned his aristocratic background in favour of the revolutionary working class struggle. He participated in the 1917 Russian revolution, and wrote numerous influential works, including Mutual Aid: a Factor of Evolution. In this work he criticised interpretations of the ideas of Charles Darwin which focused on competition, and highlighted instances of cooperation in the natural world. “If we … ask Nature: ‘who are the fittest: those who are continually at war with each other, or those who support one another?’ we at once see that those animals which acquire habits of mutual aid are undoubtedly the fittest. They have more chances to survive, and they attain, in their respective classes, the highest development of intelligence and bodily organization.” These ideas continue to be influential today. Evolutionary biologist Stephen Jay Gould wrote of Kropotkin: “I would hold that Kropotkin’s basic argument is correct. Struggle does occur in many modes, and some lead to cooperation among members of a species as the best pathway to advantage for individuals. If Kropotkin overemphasized mutual aid, most Darwinians in Western Europe had exaggerated competition just as strongly. If Kropotkin drew inappropriate hope for social reform from his concept of nature, other Darwinians had erred just as firmly (and for motives that most of us would now decry) in justifying imperial conquest, racism, and oppression of industrial workers as the harsh outcome of natural selection in the competitive mode.” We have made available several of Kropotkin’s works, as well as a brand new beautiful illustrated edition of Mutual Aid in our online store. the most life-changing customer i’ve ever had at work was a guy who came up to me and my coworker when we were at cash and said ‘hey kids…. wanna see something?’

and I said sure because why the fuck not, i’m here for a good time not a long time, and this motherfucker pulled a railroad spike out of his pocket.

A GODDAMN

ANTIQUE

RAILROAD

SPIKE

It was a fucking foot long chunk of steel that weighed about five pounds on its own so i was like ‘huh….. neat’

and he said ‘wait. there’s more’ and he took out a screwdriver. inlaid into the head of the spike. ‘things aren’t always as they appear’ he said as he unscrewed the bit and pulled out of this goddamn railroad spike

a statue

a tiny, tiny golden statue stood on the base of this flathead screw. it was a tiny golden man standing next to a tiny golden flower with gemstones in the petals. the whole thing was smaller than my thumbnail is tall. it was detailed enough that the tiny man had facial features. it was amazing.

‘oh my god,’ i said. ‘how long did it take you to make that?’

‘here’s a word of advice,’ he said, ‘never answer that question when people ask it. it devalues your work. you’ll get faster and better at things, and be able to make more art in less time. they don’t need to know about the process, just the product’.

and he left and that’s the one artistic piece of advice i definitely wanna hold to.

don’t tell people how long it takes to make shit.

Do you have any Fun Facts today? Maybe something literary?

You know what? I think I can manage that. Everyone knows about the friendship between C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. But there's another guy who gets skipped out on, and was super-influential on Lewis.

Today You Learned about Roger Lancelyn Green!

Do You Have Any Fun Facts Today? Maybe Something Literary?

Our boy Robert here was an undergraduate at Oxford when he met Jack Lewis, who was his teacher. After graduating and becoming an Oxford scholar in his own right, he remained very good friends with Lewis and a member of the Inklings. He actually traveled with Lewis and his wife, Joy, on vacation to Greece, shortly before Joy's death in 1960.

If you read histories of the Inklings, you may notice that Tolkien didn't seem to like drafts of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe that much. Well, Lewis's friend Lancelyn Green did, and encouraged him to keep working and eventually publish it.

[Wikipedia also says he came up with the title 'Chronicles of Narnia', but there's no citation on that sentence, so take it with a grain of salt.]

Roger has his own literary career, too. He wrote several books for children, retelling myths and folklore, from Greek myths, to Norse myths, to Arthurian stories. And these books are all still widely available! He's also the author of several literary biographies of people like Andrew Lang (compiler of fairy tale books), Lewis Carroll (author of Alice in Wonderland), J.M. Barrie (author of Peter Pan), and of course, C.S. Lewis himself.

It's actually pretty cool that we have a biography of C.S. Lewis by a guy who was close friends with him, I think!

Also, he was the father of literature scholar Richard Lancelyn Green, but that guy, I think, deserves his own Fun Fact for another time.
