Heyy Thanks For The Tag :)

Heyy thanks for the tag :)

Ieyasu (7) is INDEED nasty in namecalling MC but he had some good (if not complicated) side of him. TBH not what I expect for the one who waits, but he did try to wore out MC's patience (and failed). Still, their backtaking episode was GOOD.

Hide (6) is Kind and Charming as usual, but I kind of know how he works; sometimes come off as manipulative off-screen. But for someone who made the cuckoo sing, his actions are understandable. And the best monent was how he responded to Inichiyo when he discovered who wrote that letter.

Nobu (5) is NOT easy if I were in MCs shoes, imagine being forced to marry just like that...and all because he wanted a cook? Haha. Nope. But it would have been better if MC made some a little bit more resistance to him (and see how Nobu goes about rhat in full measure). Anyways, knowing his character, the story did paint Nobu as such a very forceful "you will be my wife whether you like it or not" suitor.

SLBP Cuckoo Event Review

MC as the cuckoo in that famous samurai cuckoo saying… I definitely liked the premise of the event. And here’s what I thought of the contents, in increasing order of happiness!

SLBP Cuckoo Event Review

Ieyasu’s story starts out on a bizarre note: when MC visits his temporary shop because of his random love letter, his goons capture her and Yahiko (poor Y gets rope burns…!), he proposes marriage sweetly, MC calls him out on his fake bullshit, and he reverts to his pissy, insulting self. The guy spends the next few weeks visiting MC’s restaurant, not eating anything, and calling MC stupid. And because MC’s a masochist and highly susceptible to reverse psychology, she works way harder to impress his picky palate than I personally would’ve… Eventually Ieyasu asks MC to move back with him, gets pissy when she doesn’t immediately accept, and disappears for months so that MC can wallow in angst, before coming back and sweeping her away.

…Ugh. WTF did I just read? Why did Ieyasu even like MC in the first place?! He claims he saw her working and instantly fell in love, but that’s BS and his motivations are unclear. And why did MC want to impress this rude idiot anyway? In this story Ieyasu deserves a punch to the face, not delicious food and true love. I hated it. Ieyasu fans may disagree, but I personally can’t stand his stupid “poison smile” right now. ^_^

Personal enjoyment: 1/10

SLBP Cuckoo Event Review

In this story it’s clear that Hideyoshi’s been harboring a crush on MC for a while because she’s “cute and hardworking.” Giving Inichiyo an aneurysm with his flirty tactics is simply a plus for this charmer. MC’s shy, but he spends his days allowing himself to be friend zoned and being nice to her and helping with groceries and such. And making MC jealous with his perfumes handkerchieves and fixing women’s sandals, but hey, we always knew this guy was a rogue, lol. In the end, right before he gives up on MC forever, he realizes that MC’s jealousy stems from mutual feelings, and the story ends on a hopeful note (“Perhaps this doesn’t have to be the end of things just yet?”).

I thought H was pretty likeable in this event personally, but as with Ieyasu, I found his romantic motivations to be unclear. How was it possible he had a crush on MC if he’d never talked to her before? What made her so special, besides plot reasons?! In any case, I don’t love jealousy plots and the story itself was pretty simplistic imho, but H was sweet and I thought it wasn’t too bad overall.

Personal enjoyment: 5.5/10

SLBP Cuckoo Event Review

Nobunaga’s ES starts out in a classically Nobunaga-ish fashion, with the guy demanding marriage from MC out of nowhere. And MC’s having none of it! He eventually reveals he actually wanted MC for her one-of-a-kind cooking skills, lmfao. Of course. This makes total sense 😂. Anyway, Nobunaga drags MC to hang out several times during his stay in Kyoto, and the pair eventually do grow genuine feeelings for each other over sugar-fueled dates. The guy comes back from a battle to rescue MC at a critical moment, confesses his final reason for wanting MC (“because I couldn’t think of dying and leaving you behind”), and everyone lives happily ever after.

Nobunaga is an absolute treat when he’s not hurting anyone with his ridiculous antics, and he was definitely in fine form in this story! He gives off strong YA novel love interest vibes with his stupid imperiousness (that MC doesn’t take seriously thank goodness), and I am A-ok with that, lol. I also liked how his motivations were clear throughout the entire story! Overall, I thought this ES was delightful to read and it was definitely my favorite of the lot.

Personal enjoyment: 9/10

All in all, I wouldn’t say this was my favorite event, but I came in with no expectations so from that perspective it could’ve been worse.

If you want another (more thirsty, lol) perspective you should check out @aedysa’s recap! I have no idea how to link on mobile though ^_^

Anyway, what did you all think of this event? :)

Could you please give me something like a list of things that need to be determined about a character, more than just age, height, gender and things like that, please i need like a list of as many as possible 💕💕💕 your blog is a miracle

I will try my best. This is a list I usually try to conform to (but I have it stored in my head, rather than as a physical list, so apologies if it doesn’t make much sense…!):

Character motivation. What are they doing? Why are they doing it?

Backstory. What happened before their debut in the story?

Greatest fear. Speaks for itself; what do they fear most?

Relationships with other characters. Who do they like? Who do they not like? Who opposes them? Who helps them? Who are they related to (by blood, or circumstance)?

Main personality traits. Positive ones, and negative ones.

Moral limits. What will they absolutely not do? What would they consider doing to meet their goal?

Attitudes/Opinions. What are the main issues in your story’s world, and what is this character’s opinion on it? How do they behave towards other characters, based on their opinions of them? Who or what do they consider to be below them? What behaviours do they choose to do or not do, which gives them a sense of importance/self-esteem (i.e. being tee-total, going to church every Sunday w/o fail, always adopting pets, rather than buying them, etc)?

Abilities. Either magical, or non-magical depending on your setting. What are they best at? What are they not so good at?

Speaking skills/conventions. How do they sound when they speak? What is their vocabulary like? How do they manage/behave in everyday conversations?

Education. According to your world’s standards, how educated is the character?

Family. How were they brought up? What was their family situation like?

Friendships. Which friendships do they value the most? How many friends do they have? How easily can they make friends?

Sexual/romantic relationships. How many relationships has the character committed to? Can they commit to relationships? How do they behave when in a relationship? How do they feel about other people’s relationships?

Work. What do they think about work? What kind of work would they like to do? What kind of work are they doing? If the character is a student, then consider their work ethic, their favourite subjects, etc.

Sense of self. What is your character’s self-image like? How do they feel about themselves? What do they think about themselves in relation to other people (i.e. how do they compare themselves to somebody else?).

Health. Speaks for itself; what is this character’s health like? In the past, in the present, and in the future?

Housekeeping. How do they live, in an everyday setting? Are they tidy, or messy? What things do they consider to be necessary to a daily routine, and what things do they consistently forget about/deem to be unimportant?

Politics. How they view society, and what should be done in a ‘civil’ society. What they think of their world’s politics. How they might ‘class’ themselves.

Religion. Their views on life, death, and creation. Their understanding of their ‘purpose’, or their beliefs in how everything came to be.

Tastes. In fashion, food, and anything else you might think of.

I hope this helps, Anon! Maybe some of our followers might reblog this and add extra things, or you might think of extra things you can add yourself. Feel free to do so, if this is the case!

Hideyoshi and cute

image

Ok let it never be said that you don’t know what you want. ;)

“Pick one.”

Hideyoshi hands you a box, small and cute and ribbon-bound but unmistakable, a gilded logo winking atop from the chocolate shop you’d mentioned was the thing you missed most about your hometown. The plaza is busy, shoppers milling about and the faint strains of carols slipping out of the warm shops each time one of the doors opens up, but there is a bit of peace in the shade of the towering crown jewel of the enormous Christmas tree, and the twinkle of the tree lights behind you is mirrored in his mischievous grin.

Bemused, you ease the top open, only to blink at the single truffle nestled carefully in tissue within. “There is only one,” you say, confusion wrinkling your brow as you reach in to lift it out.

“Exactly.” Hideyoshi laughs, only it sounds a bit off, and you realize when you blink up from the chocolate in your palm that its because he’s kneeling before you. “Just like…there’s only one woman I love, and only one woman for me.” He takes the box from your nerveless fingers and pulls out the ring that had been hiding beneath the sweet. “I know you have countless choices out there…but I’m hoping that you’ll say there’s only one for you too.”

He holds the ring out, and its only because it catches the shimmer of the tree that you can see how his hand trembles, as if it bears the weight of ever so much more than a bit of gold and gem. “Marry me?” he asks, in a voice that shakes ever so slightly too, and you realize it’s the only time you’ve ever heard him sound unsure.

“Yes, yes, of course!” you say, or at least you think you say. It doesn’t matter much because the next moment your arms are around him and his lips are on yours, hot and fervent. Somewhere in the dizzying gasp of it, you realize the chocolate has slipped from your grasp to fall on the ground…but it doesn’t even matter. How could it, when these kisses, and the promise of a lifetime of them, are sweeter than any confection ever could be?

How did Tadakatsu, Kageie, Yasumasa, and Tadatsugu die?

There is a legend that Tadakatsu died after injuring his hand from carving. If this story is true, he might have fallen ill from the infected wound. If not true, then presumably he died of age.

It was said that Kageie was executed by Kenshin. The story has it that he had sold a horse to Nobunaga, and Kenshin suspected treason. ETA: This was apparently considered a legend, and the official account of his death is due to disease.

Yasumasa seems to have contracted a disease and died of it. Tadatsugu died normally from age.

Things food snobs are wrong about

“Organic” isn’t better for you or for the environment. It actually means nothing of any significance at best and is sometimes even the more wasteful, more hazardous option.

A shitload of “natural” food including a lot of imported produce is grown and harvested through slave labor in inhumane conditions.

Pizza, fried chicken, french fries, fast food, candy bars and chips ARE nutritious. They are loaded with good things. Just because they have an abundance of excess fats and might not be healthy as a staple doesn’t mean they are “nutritionless” or that their calories are “empty.” Those are hokey buzzwords pushed by the people in charge of how much you pay for the alternatives.

Eating healthier costs more. Much more. Looking down on people for their reliance on cheaper food is extremely classist and expecting everyone to be able to live off fresh veggies and cage-free meats is insultingly unrealistic in the modern world.

“Processed” literally only means the food went through some kind of automated process. This can be literally the exact same thing a human being would have done to the food for it to be labeled “unprocessed.” Being processed does not make something less healthy.

Chemicals with long, scary names are part of nature. An apple is full of compounds you probably can’t pronounce. A shorter ingredients label only means they didn’t bother listing all 300 things the product is actually made of and HAS to be made of.

Preservatives, artificial flavors and other additives are not the devil. Most are harmless and in general they are part of the reason you haven’t already starved to death or died of a food borne illness.

MSG is not bad for you at all.

The fact that something might be made of “scrap” meats like pig snouts or chicken necks only means one thing: that we didn’t waste perfectly normal, edible meat.

I DON’T KNOW HOW I FORGOT THIS IN MY FIRST VERSION OF THIS POST BUT GMO’S ARE NOT DANGEROUS TO EAT. GMO’S ARE SAVING LIVES. YOU’VE ALREADY EATEN GMO’S BEFORE YOU EVEN KNEW THE TERM. IT’S FINE. EAT THEM.
