I think Francisco was her first choice from the beginning, and if she didn't choose Francisco she probably would have chosen Isabel or Luisa. (Or possibly Esteban, but I feel like she probably decided who she wanted to dance with long before she had forgiven him).

Being crowned was a very important moment for Elena and while she cares about both her friends and family, she just gave her friends job promotions, which means she'll probably get to see them all for work-related things. But she probably won't get to see her family quite as much being Queen, so it was quite a nice gesture dancing her Abuelo instead of one of them

And even if none of her family members were there, I don't think she would have chosen Mateo, Gabe, or Naomi for a very certain reason. You see, in the song “Fit to be Queen” Gabe & Mateo both seem very keen about dancing with her. But the thing is whether you believe that either of them or just one of them or neither of them have a crush on her, the fact is they both wanted to dance with her. And they seem to view her choice as a choice between the 2 of them (when it wasn't).

It seemed to me like a resurgence of their rivalry from "Party of a Lifetime," where they were fighting over who was her "best" best friend. And I know they've fought with each other about other things since that episode but never about how much Elena liked them. I mean Elena just cringed away from both of them and put their hands together instead of holding either one of them. Because whether you believe she has a crush on either of them or neither of them, she recognizes this could become a point of contention between them.

If Elena had chosen Naomi, Gabe and Mateo could possibly have also taken that personally and added Naomi to their rivalry. (Don't get me wrong I don't think that they would be annoyed about it forever, but they might make a rash decision in the short term because of it.)

I do Headcanon that Elena probably danced with all 3 of them at some point during the coronation. It's just that since the “most important” dance was the first dance, she dedicated that one to her family instead.

Hi! I don’t remember if I ever properly thanked you for the Carla and Vestia drawing that I requested from you a few months back. Knowing how the show pairs Jaquins with the humans, I would say that Vestia and Carla are a perfect match for each other in the same way that other humans and Jaquins in the show are paired together. Vestia was a rogue Jaquin who became a Gaurdian of Avalor again and was reaccepted amongst her kind. Carla is a Malvago turned Wizard who was accepted in Avaloran society

(I am curious though about what you thought of her hairstyle and dress since I was experimenting a bit with style for it.)

Yes, they do fit pretty well together. And they both seem to be really clever and determined so that would also match up if they were on a mission together. Plus, together they could probably make some of the sassiest comments you've ever heard!

Isabel:

Favorite thing about them: She tries to be cautious and find logical solutions to her problems. And sometimes her anxiety can overwhelm her but in the end she still carries on and succeeds.

Least favorite thing about them: The pink and yellow dress she wears as a formal dress in some of the earlier episodes, some people like it but for me the colours just really seemed to clash with each other on it.

BrOTP: Her friend group and her sister. Also Catarina.

Random headcanon: After the coronation day she starts a part time music band with Christina, Amara, Quique, and Olivia. She sings lead vocals and plays lead guitar(dion). Everyone just expected that it would be a cute little band that plays really happy songs but they surprised everyone when they instead played intense emotional ballads of angst. They were a huge hit. (Her family is concerned about this, but then she pointed out that it's her way of letting off steam as a teenager instead of doing something like overthrowing the kingdom or obsessive revenge. Esteban and Elena felt very called out but also couldn't disagree with her).

Unpopular opinion: Not so much about her personally but I believe that her first invention for moving the rocks in Class Act up the mountain (the crane) was a much better idea than just launching them at the top of the mountain. If there are any workers on top of the mountain while they are launching rocks then people could get seriously hurt, not to mention the shrapnel from the rocks splitting apart. And if they miss the shot at the top of the mountain then the rocks are going to end up flying off to who-knows-where including the town.

Random headcanon: One of her main hobbies is sailing and she's so good at it that she often steers the ship when her family goes out on the ocean. (She and Naomi would become fast friends if they met).
