We really live in a culture where creativity is just… shut down. All the time. Let people enjoy things you think are cringey. Let people create storylines for characters and make original ones. Let people create music that’s “bad.” Let people find who they are and what they want to create. Stop discouraging people from making things that make them happy. It doesn’t directly affect you, so why make someone feel bad about what they are doing? We are all only human, we are all trying to become the best version of ourselves. And if that means making weird things then that means making weird things.
Hey uhhhhhhhh why is your username 78 is A odd number instead of AN
I’m really tired most of the time and actually don’t really care + it’s fun

I can finally share this little project I’ve been working on!! it’s called “the Crown of the Fae” and i really wanted to explore how my two characters, Aiden (the fae) and Aiva (the wee lass) met each other! And what better way to do that than in the form of RHYME!!! But honestly, these two characters mean a lot to me, and I’m so glad my book illustration class finally gave me the opportunity to do a little more with them! .
Friendly reminder that “rock paper scissors” exist in the Avatar universe
It’s made after the avatar cycle
Not which element actually beats each other in reality, cause that would depend on the bender. In the game it’s decided who wins after the order of the avatar cycle.
Water beats earth
Earth beats fire
Fire beats air
Air beats water
Who wins between water and fire? No one, they are opposite elements. They can’t beat each other.
Who wins between air and earth? No one, they are opposite elements. They can’t beat each other.
The hand gestures are either a move in the bending style or a representation of the element itself;
Water - A hand doing waves (suggestion) - no one really knows the hand gesture for water
Earth - Hand is clenched as a rock - as shown by Aang (pictured above) in the episode City of walls and secrets
Fire - Fingers are flames - as shown by Sokka (pictured above) in the episode City of walls and secrets
Air - A hand facing forward - as shown by two Airbender boys in a flashback (pictured above) in the episode The storm
That’s all the information we have about it at the moment.
(Decided to give the updated version it’s own post)
As some of you might already have guessed, I’m a fan of Japanese girl idols. One of the many, many idol groups in existence today in Japan is NMB48, a Osaka-based spin-off group of the (in)famous AKB48. NMB has a weekly show that’s surprisingly entertaining as well as educational called NMB to Manabu-kun, in which the members of NMB and a few comedians listen to guest lectures by experts in various fields.
Back on May 15th, the theme of the episode was pataphysics/the science of sci-fi. One of the topics of the lecture held by university professor Yanagita Rikao was the age-old question of “WHY ARE MAGICAL GIRLS NEVER ATTACKED WHILE TRANSFORMING???”
This was his answer, based on the magical girl series Futari wa Pretty Cure.
Question: The transformation scenes in Pretty Cure are very long, so why don’t the bad guys attack the girls in the meantime?
“Even when I was little, I was thinking ‘Hey! Attack them now!’”
“I found this odd as well, so I watched the transformation scene many times. And what I noticed is, when the Pretty Cures yell ‘Dual Aurora Wave!’ and transform, a rainbow-colored column of light shoots up from the ground, going BOOM!”
“And then the Pretty Cures levitate, and go up into the air. Based on this, I believe the protagonists of Pretty Cure are being held up in the air by the power of light.”
“When we think of light, we usually think it heats up things or lights up things. But in reality, light has the power to hold up things as well.”
“When the sun is beating down on us in the summer, the human body is being pressed downwards by the sun beams with a force of 2/100,000g.”
“But this is only about a one-hundred of the weight of a mosquito, so no matter how hot it is, we don’t feel that sunlight is heavy.”
“So that means the light holding them up must be extremely strong. If we assume that the two Pretty Cures each weigh about 45kg and do some calculations…”
“It means the light during the transformation must have the energy of 2,100,000,000kW per 1m2.”
“While the entirety of power that Japan is capable of generating is only 100,000,000kW.”
“So they’re using 21 TIMES the amount of energy the whole of Japan can generate.”
“So what would happen if a bad guy jumped in to try to sabotage their transformation?”
“He would EVAPORATE INSTANTLY.”
“DEATH AWAITS ANYONE WHO DARES TO DISRUPT A PRETTY CURE TRANSFORMATION.”
“So this means the best thing to do would be to transform close to any bad guys.”
“Yes. They are the strongest while they transform, and are practically invincible.”
Ok so that other post really got me thinking and like…no wonder Aang is so freakin quick to offer advice. That isn’t just him trying to be a good friend that’s him carrying on Air Nomad culture. That’s him acting according to how his people have always acted. Only now it’s not appreciated. Only now his advice is akin to “pre-school teachings” and not worth listening to. No wonder he wanted to cry when Katara shouted at him about his “infinite wisdom getting old”. Like ok, obviously being yelled at fucking sucks. But I bet it was mostly because he was raised with the understanding that the monks teachings meant a great deal to the entire world. And now it doesn’t.
He woke up in a time when all those teachings meant nothing to anyone but him.
I have F in PE because I can’t pass the swimming. And next week we are gonna dance alone in front of the class. I can barely talk in front of the class without feeling like I’m gonna break.
And I won’t dance in front of the entire class when I already have a F. Just accept it.
Honestly “thanks I hate it” is one of the funniest phrases in the English language
