Day 50 (1:42) of rewriting my novel

Today I continue my quest or rewriting this stuff in reverse. I wrote the "capture" of Ir Nouzonif. (It is a tragedy: the President has already fled with the magic, but not the Heroes' bodies.)

I haven't been too active on here in the past couple days, and that will continue to be the trend as we continue into the fall. (American schooling, as it were.) That doesn't mean I'm not writing, or paying attention to anything y'all send me! I swear I'll get around to tag games when I'm able.

Day 47 (1:23) of rewriting my novel

I finished Part 3 today! Like all the others, I'm sure it's a hot mess that doesn't quite fit together, but it's a first draft and that makes me proud of it.

I've reached about ~57k words, and that's actually the most I've ever written on a single thing, which I'm also proud of.

Today was literally just filler scenes. Mind-bendingly drivelous filler scenes. Well, they weren't just incoherent babbling from me, Somehow, I have to plan out Part Four tomorrow, but I have a big drive tomorrow, too, so I may take a day away from writing. I dunno, yet. Stay tuned.

Considering Meiste is being written from a 1st person limited point of view (that POV being Izi’s exclusively) I think it would make more sense if it felt like he were naming the chapters, himself.

I.e. Chapter 1: That was Where it All Started

(Henceforth, I’ll use X to denote a digit of unknown value)

Chapter XX: Ruining my Own Coronation

Chapter XX: Odapir City is a Crazy Place

Chapter XX: The Big Lie, Revealed

Chapter XX: Look Who Came Crawling Back for More

Let’s go back to naming our chapters!

Here are some examples of chapters names I’ve come up with!

- Break you out of your shell

- A plot to make the girl happy again

- Yesterday is a memory we can't all forget

- Regret is something we get over by doing

Lets hear some more unique chapter names!

Y'know, it's weird how the Egbert house doesn't have a garage or a carport or anything. Surely a paragon of fatherly responsibility like Mr Egbert would know better than to simply leave his car exposed to the elements at all times.

I was yapping about register (sociolinguistics) in therapy when my therapist asked if I (as an undiagnosed autistic person) use sociolinguistics to understand other people.

While I have thought about that, I'm not entirely sure that's the case? Sure, linguistics as a whole is a special interest, but where my interest really lies in the whole thing is historical reconstruction of protolanguages.

Like, you're telling me we don't know where the gender system in Indo-European languages came from? Or where Arabic triconsonantal roots came from?

Sociolinguistics, while useful as a field of interest, just isn't quite mine.

The best kinds of people start their explanations with "okay, so..."
