Alright, here we go, I’m finally doing it ! A simple and lighthearted one-shot between Sans and Esha to go along with this PERFECT commission by @woolpen 🤎 (themes : loneliness, brotherhood, comfort, change, belonging) 💙 Here ! 💚 Thank you @unnamedcrane, for the proofreading and help ! ✨
I’m testing out my English writing, so sorry in advance if it’s not perfect (I write in French first, then translate, then tweak a bit). But hey, hope you’ll enjoy it ~

Esha often runs into Frisk in Toriel's school hallways, and whenever she can, she joins the primary schoolers activities once the kindergarteners have left to be able to spend time with them. She quickly grew attached to the kiddo, finding them absolutely adorable (and kinda weird, in a good way). Esha's always up for babysitting Frisk whenever needed : She sings anything they ask for, they watch cartoons together, have fun playing outside, or do craft activities.
Being an only child, Esha sees and cares for Frisk like the sibling she never had. She admires their qualities and feels relieved that Frisk gets to enjoy a peaceful childhood (despite the tensions between Toriel & Asgore). Something she never got to experience at their age.
Esha can sometimes be a little overzealous with her affection... Thankfully, Frisk is patient ! They adore her just as much, though at times, when Frisk look at her, there’s a hint of melancholy in their eyes.
She reminds them of someone...

hello!! I was wondering: how does Sans view Esha's physical and/or spiritual beauty?? (i.e the way she carries herself)
Hey there ! 🤎
Physically, Sans adores her curvy and soft figure, perfect for cuddling (whether romantic or platonic). He’s also fascinated by the contrast between their hands (and honestly, so is she). But what captivates him the most are her brown "puppy" eyes : he finds them incredibly expressive and often uses them to decode what she’s hiding or to understand the messages she silently sends him.
(And more secretly… he’s absolutely obsessed with her lips.)
Spiritually, it’s one of the key things she shares with Papyrus : Sans deeply appreciates her authenticity and the way she enjoys life. The smallest things amaze her, almost like she’s constantly rediscovering the beauty of their environment, even though she’s always lived on the surface.
It’s calming and inspiring, someone like her or Papyrus, who genuinely appreciates the little things of life and highlights their uniqueness... A nice counterbalance to his pessimism.
Esha also has that reassuring aura : her gentleness, kindness, and patience are a huge comfort to him when he struggles with anxiety (mostly because of his new life on the surface), traumatic flashes, or nightmares (we know about who and what).
And because she avoid pressuring him to explain exactly what’s wrong (see here), it makes her presence even more soothing.
However, he’s well aware that her mind isn’t all rainbows and glitter. He knows Esha carries the weight of many things (he don't know what yet, but he can tell) and that she fully understands the cruelty of life.
And yet, here she is, smiling, filled with ideas for tomorrow...

💚 Esha is set in a post-pacifist route where the characters live on the surface. She gets a job at Toriel’s school and becomes friends with her, Alphys, and Frisk before gradually getting to know the other main characters.
She’s a support character who helps the cast integrate into surface life (culture, history, fun facts, sociology, etc.).
Esha spends a lot of time with the Papyrus-Sans-Undyne-Alphys quartet.
She’s deeply interested in the culture, history, and sociology of monsters, which she studies on her own while asking questions.
It’s a sort of constant cultural exchange as she forms strong and genuine bonds with the cast, helping them grow while they also help her grow in return. In the meantime, my little Esha finally got her signature outfit & body ref ! It was interesting and a bit challenging to choose her a signature look since clothing says so much about a character. At first glance, you should be able to "feel" who they are. We're super happy with the result !

Esha was lured during a walk in the forest while singing alone. A Fae, whose identity remains unknown for now, complimented her voice, and she naturally thanked them...
She’s a Fae tied to the Spring/Summer Court.
She’s a very promising apothecary apprentice, working for a feisty old Fae named Oam.
Esha makes various remedies and infusions based on Oam’s recipes, but she’s also created her own. She specializes in warm infusions to improve sleep, reduce anxiety, and relieve stress.
Her recipes quickly became pretty popular, Oam is very proud !
She always smells like fresh flowers and plants.
Esha still has an angelic voice but is too shy to sing in public. She only sings for close friends or in places with very few people.
She remembers her years of belly dancing from when she was human and still dances beautifully.
Anna made her dress and Esha often visits her to bring her favorite teas and keep her company.
Esha also loves spending time with 5am. She sometimes has to help her heal after she have eaten some... questionable weeds.
Esha has a blessing by Nightmare that allows her to deliver goods in the Winter/Autumn Court.
She feels uncomfortable in Ink's presence for some reasons.
Her signature flower is chamomile. 🌼
💚 About her love interests
Nightmare has been watching her from afar ever since he granted her the blessing to travel between the Courts, and he seems to have taken a certain interest in her. He’s heard about her voice and is subtly looking for a way to convince her to sing at his Court.
Error has tried a few of her creations and seems to particularly enjoy their effects. He places frequent orders and insists that Esha personally delivers them to him... Wonder why, huh ?

In Japanese culture, "blue spring" is a poetic metaphor for youth. The word "aoi" means "blue," but it also conveys a sense of immaturity, inexperience, or being unripe. "Haru" means "spring," a season often associated with renewal, growth, and beginnings.
Sans's new life on the surface. New sceneries, new sensations, new people, like Esha. A fresh start.
Together, "blue spring" symbolizes youth as a vibrant yet uncertain time of life. It reflects the intensity, awkwardness, and emotional highs and lows, self-discovery, and facing challenges, but also one filled with limitless possibilities.
This is their ship name !
