It has been brought to my attention that some of these are wrong and that Carmy is absolutely a male wife so I fixed it
I have no explanation for this
I think that introducing the word platonic into media really fucked people up because now people can’t tell the difference between something that’s platonic and something that can be read as platonic but is inherently romantic. Carmy and Syd aren’t platonic. They can be interpreted as platonic if that’s how you see it yourself, but they’re just not platonic. If your coworker/business partner is the one calming you down from an intense panic and you’re out here telling them that you couldn’t do this without them, that you wouldn’t even want to do it without them and that they make you better at this and not your girlfriend who you won’t even call your girlfriend then I hate to break to you that’s not platonic

As much as I want to see a moment where Carmy meets Syds dad, I’d like to see a scene where Donna meets Syd. Ofc course Carmy would be terrified that Donna would have one of her freak outs so he’s freaking out, but instead she just glances at her and back at him and just asks “does she make you happy?” and he responds “yeah um, yeah she makes me really happy.” And she just smiles or walks away or something. Because I like to think that after Mikey, she just wants her kids to be happy and loved in the way she couldn’t.

“Carmy has too much baggage and Sydney deserves better than that” is such wild take because you’re essentially just saying that “this person has trauma therefore they aren’t good enough to be loved” and that’s such a fucked up ideology because everyone has and/or has had their own issues but that doesn’t make them unworthy of love. A big part of relationships is the understanding that your partner may have trauma/issues but it will never make them any less worthy of being loved. That’s why sydcarmy is so beautiful, because they see all of each others flaws, issues, and trauma and they love each other regardless

Obsessed with the idea that Sydney had a celebrity crush on Carmy because she immediately fangirled over him when they first met (“I know who you are, you were the best cdc at the best restaurant in the U.S.”) and he made her the best meal she’s ever had and now they’re opening a restaurant together and falling in love
I feel like we don’t talk about “I’m sorry I didn’t know we were running OUR menu by Claire now” enough. The way Sydney very clearly sounds somewhat betrayed that Carmy showed/discussed their menu with Claire because to her this her and Carmy’s thing and no one else’s. This line along with “i need your focus just like you need mine and I don’t want to share” is giving very much I want all of you and I don’t want to have to share with someone else
Not to hate on Claire x Carmy by any means (ship what you want idc) but I just want to know why your ideal ship is traumatized man x girl who constantly reminds him of his past. Not even the good parts either, the part where his family who he already has a turbulent relationship with is pressuring him to be with her. I understand the whole childhood friends to lovers thing but they clearly aren’t it, yes she says she loves him but that’s not true, she loves the idea of him she had when they were like 15 but that’s not who he is anymore and vice versa. Childhood friends to lovers is supposed to represent growth and change but Carmy and Claire are still holding on to their childhood versions of each other, they’re both holding on to a high school crush and that’s not what Carmy needs. Carmy needs to move on and start his healing journey but he can’t do that if he’s white knuckling a childhood crush trying to make it into something it’ll never be. That’s why the panic attack scene is so significant, Claire is the dark and upsetting past that Carmy’s stuck in but Sydney is the bright and hopeful future he could have if he just allows himself to let go of the past and move forward with his life
I just wanna know what would’ve happened if Claire had walked in while Carmy and Syd were under that table
Sydcarmy has fully ruined my brain because I’ll be listening to any song ever and suddenly it’s about them
Listen, I love seeing Carmy be pathetic for Sydney as much as the next person but I need to see Sydney be a little pathetic for Carmy too. We talk how about how Syd is Carmy’s saving grace and how he worships the ground she walks on but I need to see the same from Syd. I need to see her realize how much she actually cares for this wet dog of a man, to see just how much she needs him too. I need to see her slowly grow in love with Carmy all the while coming to the understanding that together they work like a well-oiled machine and nobody else could fill the space that Carmy now occupies in her life, even if she did want someone else to. I need to see her epiphany when she realizes her feelings him and see her wrestle with those feelings only to come to the conclusion that it always has been and always will be Carmy for her. That at the end of the day they will always come back to each other and she will always come back to him. Because this only works if they’re equally as soft for the other outside of the tough demeanor they try to present during their day to day lives and while working The Bear
