I was writing a story that takes place in the Ghostbusters universe (during afterlife), but the protagonist (my OC Vanessa) is completely unaware of what happened in the past, so here’s some of my favorite parts (all separate from one another) before I (possibly) clean it up and post the full version.
Things are left vague on purpose, but I hope you guys enjoy these little bits of story… I’ll probably release more of this soon because there’s a lot…
btw if any of you are curious about the “poor stranger,” make your guesses as to who they are, if you’d like. There’s a lot of bits of writing that talks about them. :)
Update on the Ghostbusters Mouthwashing/Ghostbusting/Throwing the boys in space but changing the scenarios because Jimmy did horrible things AU!!
Tagging @justarandombirb and @maybemang0 cause they already know about this potential AU’s existence and you two seem to at least like the idea of the boys in space :)
All I know so far is that this will be similar, but not exactly the same as Mouthwashing for the obvious reasons (those reasons are that Jimmy is obviously a horrible character, and that is his whole point- but it’s obviously very uncomfortable making any character like him because that just feels wrong.. especially what he did to Anya..)
The cause for the crash would be an accident, still don’t know why..
As for the characters- the only definitive ones I know is that Slimer would be Polle the horse (Mango’s idea), and Rookie could possibly be Daisuke because of a last minute intern. Maybe the Tulpar’s design could be inspired off the Ecto-One? Who knows.
And I promise I haven’t forgotten about my Over the garden wall AU, I’ve just got a lot of art block.

Update: I did it!!! I finished all levels on hard mode just last night!! Working on my final achievement (less than $100,000 in property damage) now!

I’ve realized something.
Although Vanessa is one of my most developed and detailed Ghostbusters OCs, I’ve hardly talked about her here. I did talk about Edward a little, but I mostly ignored Vanessa, minus her summary in this post, but I never elaborated on her after that…
Would you guys possibly like some more info on her? As well as my other OCs? I’m planning on occasionally posting about them…
One extra fact cause I forgot!! Edelwood trees are replaced with something called “Spirit’s ice”! Very cold, very piercing blue, very very dangerous. Maybe when if melts, you can see faces of the lost souls in the puddles and in the ice…
as for Lorna, I’m probably just gonna make her one of my OCs if I can’t find a character for her… there aren’t many characters around Trevor’s/Wirt’s age range (Other than Lucky, but she’s already Sara) I think and that’s makes it difficult :(

The Rock facts rock (Stolen from Mrs’ Daniel’s- or in this case, Ray’s yard) will be painted with shades instead of big googly eyes! And if you’re wondering why, it’s cause of this :)

The citizens of Pottsfield and the people in the tavern will be based on various things- Irl friends, online mutuals, my OCs and possibly friends/mutual’s ocs (with permission and credit of course), and the Real Ghostbusters characters! Although idk how I’m going to transfer their unique designs over to pumpkins and skeletons for Pottsfield.
And maybe Auntie Whispers would be Gozer? I still don’t know who Lorna would be…

How does Over the Frozen Wall sound? Since it seems to be very frozen empire themed?
Ooooh maybe! It is pretty frozen empire themed, so that might work! I still might use aspects of fall, since I still want to keep Pottsfield… as well as Halloween, since the original series had Greg and Wirt climbing the wall on Halloween… (But maybe it could be more winter holiday themed?)
Maybe it’s erratic weather patterns? Summerville already had earthquakes, maybe they get early snow too, and it’s already snowing on Halloween? Or it’s just normal fall weather, but when they arrive in the Unknown, it’s already snowing…
Or it’ll be like the OG series, where the transition from fall to winter is slow but noticeable…
But who knows? I’ll make a choice soon, hopefully. If you have an idea or like one of mine please let me know so I can use it :) Thanks for the name idea :]
Also, for Egon’s design, in planning on having more spooky aspects.. his eyes (for the most part) will be blue instead of brown.. hinting at Garraka’s manipulation… and under the scarf, mask and goggles, he probably has scars that look like ice… or he just has flat out frozen parts of his face and hands… since he’s been wandering so long…
he gets his brown eyes back a couple times.. when having doubts about listening to him…
And by the end, they finally go back to normal. He wasn’t the beast, like how Greg and Wirt assumed of the Woodsman in one episode… but a broken man just trying to bring his daughter back, only a mere puppet by the real monster all along.

Since people seem to really like Over the Ghost Wall/Over The Busted Wall, should I make a couple rewrites of the songs? And if so, which ones?
I’ve also been planning on rewatching the actual show so I can get a better grasp of the characters. And who would be who… Lucky would be Sara, but that’s really all I have because I need to rewatch the show.. any suggestions?

So I’m trying to think of a design for Over the Ghost Wall/Over the Busted Wall Egon, but I can’t decide :((
My plan was to have his outfit be winter clothing (still inspired off the Woodsman), since the Unknown is a near permanent winter in this AU, but this is where I hit a block. One idea was that he has permanent shined or fogged glasses (or goggles) covering his eyes to add to the mystery.
Another was with a scarf covering half of his face, adding onto the “hiding his face” bit from the glasses. My last idea would be some kind of animal mask, like a deer or an owl. Something spooky with symbolism? A lot of these ideas have to do with hiding and covering up his real identity, which could maybe be used in his storyline- especially since he’s related to Trevor and Phoebe, who take the roles of Greg and Wirt… Tumblr is usually a great place I use for decisions, so what do you guys think sounds good lol

Over The Ghost Wall/Over the Busted Wall
Phoebe and Trevor take the role of Greg and Wirt, with Phoebe as Greg and Trevor as Wirt. The two climbed over a broken wall in the graveyard, leading them to the Unknown. A space forgotten by time, but well remembered by anyone who visits. Instead of just the woods, it’s trapped in an eternal winter from the Beast, AKA Garrakka, who freezes children into lifeless blobs of ice, and relies on the souls to keep himself alive with the lantern the Woodsman (or in this case, an Icebreaker? Idk what do you call people who break apart ice for a living.) Melody is Beatrice, cursed to be a Ghostly bird until she finds a way to move on and save her family. I had two ideas for the Woodsman. Either it’s Egon, tricked into believing that the soul he was keeping alive in the lantern was Callie’s, and he wants to bring her back-
Or it’s Peter, Winston or Ray, thinking that the soul in the lantern is Egon’s, wanting to bring him back after him being gone for years and years..
and Slimer’s the frog.
Idk about the rest yet, if you have ideas please speak up! Also if you guys use this please tag me, I’d love to see any ideas or art or whatever else you guys make :]
