Summary: Cartman convinces Kyle to take him to some abandoned tunnels with Stan and Kenny. They’re toured by a terrible guide in some not-so-safe halls and rooms. That leads to some private talks between Kyle and Eric. They argue, and, well, things happen.

ok this might just be a personal experience for me but hearing the song “Landslide” at the end of “You’re Getting Old” (s15e07) was the biggest and final thing that made the episode really HIT HOME for me.
that song and fleetwood mac as a whole is such a childhood staple for me- i always heard so much about them from my mom and nowadays i hold them in a very high regard as one of the influences for what my music taste would end up being like.
so hearing that song at the end of an episode about a kid going through quite literally the same emotional struggle and changes as i did at that age?? holy SHIT.
even now i’m still learning to deal with those changes.
i think it ultimately reminded me that yeah, i miss my childhood more than anything but the change i’m going through at those point in my life is helping me become a better person as a whole. so i embrace whatever my future holds for me

stan: if it matters - probably not… but bebe was the last one to use it.
bebe: liar!! i don't even drink that crap!
stan: oh, really? then what were you doing by the coffee cart earlier?
bebe: i use the wooden stirrers to push back my cuticles! everyone knows that, stan!
butters: ok, ok, let’s not fight! i broke it, let me pay for it, mr. garrison!
mr. garrison: NO! WHO BROKE IT?!!
cartman: …mr. garrison... kenny's been awfully quiet.
kenny: (REALLY?)
cartman: yeah, really!!
kenny: (OH MY GOD!) [argument ensues]

HAPPY TREY/STAN DAY!!
TREY: i owe a lot to both him and matt. without them my #1 big comfort show wouldn’t exist??? so i guess i should say.. thanks for keeping it going through all these years. it means a LOT to not only just me but MILLIONS of other people as well. also… trey’s scripts are always so… so GOOD??? and the fact that he’s been able to keep that quality for 25 years… wow. also he voices SO MANY characters on the show including THE MOST ICONIC CHARACTER??? this dude literally made eric into CARTMAN. happy 54th trey. i can’t wait to see what the next 4 years of south park will bring!!
STAN: this character has been a BIG source of emotional comfort to me. honestly i didn’t think too much of stan at first, but now he’s definitely in my top 3 (and that’s saying a lot, considering the sheer size of this show’s cast of characters). never in my life have i related to a character more than stan. every time this character is on screen i am reminded of the fourth-grade me. his experiences with his family and his friends, his overall personality, and most of all how he has grown and changed as a person (yes, i am referring to “You’re Getting Old” and “Ass Burgers”). i think every person has had the experience of the rapid emotional change one experiences around the time they hit puberty, but seeing it in the way it was portrayed with stan just hit so close to home for me. it felt like such a shared experience seeing a character go through the process of likes/dislikes transforming themselves and relationships quickly changing for the worse, all topped by the conflict of his parents’ dysfunctional marriage. i had BEEN THERE BEFORE.
anyways, stan is such an amazing character and i couldn’t haven chosen a better protagonist for this show. you go lil man
