The Other Half Au
Basically it takes place a year after the events of the movie except in this reality the brother sustained injuries and their mental health starts to suffer - even if they don't outwardly show it.
It would introduce 4 new characters into the plot - I'm not sure yet, but maybe one or two of them has already befriended the tutrles pre-invasion and the others would have met them afterwards?
These characters would be 'caretakers' in some sort of way to each of the boys, helping them learn to cope and heal after such a traumatic experience. They will act as their other halves until the boys can feel whole again... or something like that. Who knows.... well... I do... so... uh...

Some of these characters are familiar faces to the fandom,like Usagi and Mona Lisa, but the other two are my own - completely original characters, which is why I am a little nervous putting my comic concept out there.
Haze (They/Them): is a friend of April's from school, they werent SUPER well acquainted until - through some hijinks and shanagains- Haze learns about the existence of the turtles.They are bubbly, friendly, sarcastic, and will talk a strangers ear off if they'd let them. Haze is the type of person who wants to be friends with everyone no matter how strange others may find them - probably because Haze themselves is considered to be a bit of an oddball.
Hiroko (She/They): was 'adopted' into the O'Neil family after an... incident. What was the incident? Maybe you could read the comic and find out? She's pretty moody, gloomy and brooding all of the time. The O'Neils are the only ones she trust completely - well, them and ONE specific Mutant turtle.

It all started as a normal day in the sewers, well as normal as it can be when you live in the sewers.

Tao wore his long reddish hair down with a few braids. Usually, they preferred tying his hair up. Much to Raph’s surprise they wore a really nice dress.
It took way too long to find someone with F. That was like the only one!

This is my turtlesona, Belatova. She was raised by the mud dogs as a sort of younger sister/niece, but theres no strict familial placements.
I'll ramble more about her here!
Mickey specifically was the one who found her first, in the rubble of what once was draxums first lab. He figured it'd be useful to have something or someone that could get into small spaces. When he got home with her, the reception was not too positive.
"THE FUCK *IS* THIS SHIT, MICKEY?"
"I BROUGHT IT HOME CAUSE I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE USEFUL!!"

Despite their original reservations, they held on to her incase there were any missing child posters with a reward. The posters never came. They'd never admit it, but of course they grew attached to the little turtle as they raised her. Danny came up with the name Belatova, though Mickey called her tomato once and the nickname stuck.
Just because they had a younger member of the team, that never stopped their criminal behavior. She really *was* useful when she was small, whether it be getting into tight spaces or tricking the people of the mystic city, Tova excelled. Snake oil salesmen quickly became another one of their schemes.

The last time belatova saw them was before they were thrown in jail as seen in 'tales from the mystic city.' They had been gone so long she worried something might have happened and went looking for them, and when the mud dogs were finally freed, they came back to an empty hideout. They aren't so obvious about it, but they haven't stopped looking for her.
During this time, belatova met the Mad Dogs, and though there was initial surprise at there having been a missing turtle, they made quick friends. Of course, belatova loved her time with her lost family, but she still misses the mud dogs, and hasn't given up her search for them.

P.S: training started as early as five (if the kid made it that long) this is cuz, even if they never made it to the frontlines ( if they got older they were allowed to specialised elsewhere like mechanic work, physical trauma care, full on wilderness training to be a scout etc etc. not everyone was a soldier ) first aid, wilderness, combat skills were essential for obvious reasons.

Of course it first started out as very kid friendly games like ninja hide and seek and what not. Basically, think of their training as their version of our education. Also I didn’t include this but all the kids were taught to read and write as part of that training. Literacy is importance guys!

I’m sorry dude. I know it hasn’t been too long but Cj is getting to a point where he’s losing his temper ( I can’t hold back the classic Jones rage any longer without making him Ooc 🥲,that and unfortunately at this particular point of the this au Cj is way to freshly traumatised, full of rage (and conditioned by the apocalypse to not result to extreme measures esp in a combat setting) to regulate himself so eh.. things can get dark pretty quickly if this keeps going and I don’t wanna go there, and tbh I’m just.. really really tired. This is rlly fun and thank you for reachin out to me but welp.. I just don’t have enough of spoons to juggle this and everything else. So uh yeh..I’m Sorry bud 😅 I can squeeze out at least one more part if you need me too but man I am reaching my limit😂😅
