The largest mass shooting in American history was a hate crime against gay people. Don’t ever forget that.
((All of us here are in mourning in light of the massacre at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando Florida. In total, 50 people lost their lives and at least 53 others were injured in this heinous hate crime. It was the largest mass shooting in US history and we are reeling at this huge loss to our community.
Tomorrow we can fight about the motives of the shooter and gun violence and politics, but today, RIGHT NOW, we need to support our LGBT+ siblings and mourn.
Please remember those who passed. We dont know who all of them were just yet, but please know that they were not just one of fifty people, but siblings, children, and spouses to many people. All of whose lives are now forever changed by their absence. And keep in your thoughts the victims who are in hospital. We wish them well and a quick recovery from this nightmarish ordeal.
And please, PLEASE, do not wish or do any harm to our Muslim siblings either. An individual causing violence does not mean that an entire group is violent, let alone somehow responsible.
The victims that we know of so far.

this pride month just a year ago we were celebrating nationwide gay marriage and the reaction was ecstatic. now we’re standing in the devastation of america’s largest mass shooting on a gay club. so fuck everyone who thought lgbt+ rights started and ended with legalising gay marriage. homophobia is present and real and dangerous.
i appreciate dan and phil not only for addressing the orlando shooting and expressing their sympathies but also continuing to be a bright light for many despite the hard times
