I keep forgetting the name of Olivia Colemans character so i've just been calling her Mrs Nelson and now Nicks mum is, at least in my head, leading the most insane double life
DI Hardy and DS Miller are onto you 🕵️

secondly, i love alec hardy and how protective he is of his friends and daisy- like he's actually such a caring guy and the whole thing with trish and his absolute hatred for the guys who hurt her. amazing character, would love to deep dive into character analysis but maybe another post lol

Not really.
I’ve started Broadchurch, and I am HOOKED!
It’s so good! I love it so much, and I’m only on season 1 episode 5.
I’ve fallen in love with Alec Hardy.
This is one chef’s kiss of a show!

Oh … I love all of you!
I just wanted to say that. 💚
I binge watched The Bear in 2 days and here are my thoughts on the whole SydCar romantic discourse :
Are they platonic, work -spouse soulmates who get each other on a molecular level? YES. Absolutely. They are practically the same people, it's just Sydney is better at managing her shit than Carmen. They manage to finish each other's creative thoughts about recipes and menus, they can keep each other in check and they respect each other. They sync on a level that is magical.
While, I personally, would prefer the platonic love between a man and a woman be explored quite wholesome-ly in this show, I also get why a lot of ppl are shipping them. They have insane, electric chemistry. So could they have a romantic relationship? sure. Anything can work there. They just fit together, that good. In any case we get more Sydney-Carmen interaction and I enjoy that immensely.
Also side note the cameos are fucking insane in this show and epi 6 of S2 blew my fucking mind. It was a fever dream with the most random famous actors ever and the most chaotic family dinner portrayed on tv.
The tatts on the men with biceps...help me lord 🥵
This show is fucking good.
I find these portraits a symbolic telling of their relationship with the spotlight (public):
The Queen looks at the spotlight head on, however her expression is impassive, we don't know for sure how she feels. She has become good at maintaining her duty. Margaret is looking down quite solemnly. I suppose this is the time her marriage and her character in public starts to fall apart. Both sisters are probably sharing the same light because it falls on the Queens left and Margaret's right.
Philip also has the spotlight on his left side who looks down tired. Submissive. Given up.
Charles also has the spotlight on his left side however he is looking at it shyly as if he is peeping through a half closed door as secrets unfold before him. As if he is sizing up the whole thing in secret.
And Anne has the spotlight on her right like her Aunt Margaret and she looks distant, daydreaming, like she is present physically but emotionally and mentally she's somewhere else. Hesitant.
