Whoa! whoa! I would never! Jbzxls is too cool! đ
Pssst, since you're a writer, watch out for Sofia đ.
Fortunately I know I wouldnât taste good :D
Some of us have weak hearts, okay! Haha, I know I'll be dead after Estela's day! đą
Hey just wanted to check in to see if your still alive after Kenjkat's Becca pic. :DDD
Yes Anon I am still alive, thank you for your concern and checking in with me đ @kenjkats hasnât killed me off yet, if I can survive Becca then I should be fine.
Lemony Snicket: Stop watching this show, itâs extremely unfortunate, depressing and has no happy ending.
Me: Donât tell me what to do you beautiful poetic bitch.
the real struggle of writing: having the entire movie mapped out in your head like ur steven spielberg but putting it down on paper is like spongebob trying to write his essay for boating school
â A lot of you have asked questions pertaining to a struggle with planning scenes, so Iâve decided to make a little rundown of questions to answer before writing a new scene of your story. Obviously, you probably wonât end up going through this process over and over again until the end of your writing career, as this will become like a second nature to you as you continue to practice it. If you have any further questions, my ask box is always open. Happy writing!

happy tdov to the trans people who canât or donât want to transition, who are in an unsupportive place, or who are still unsure of their identities. you are just as amazing and valid as every other trans person and you deserve just as much love. âĄ
also, on this blessed day of trans visibility, hereâs a reminder to cis people not to be gross when showing support. you talking about how hot and sexy you think trans people are isnât you supporting and empowering us, itâs you fetishizing us and it harms us.
also when showing support if you could refrain from saying cisnormative stuff like âwow you look so good you can hardly tell youâre transâ or âyou look like more of a girl/guy than i do!!â bc that just implies âlooking transâ is a bad thing, or that trans people even look a certain way to begin with, or that trans people are inferior to cis people. just give us regular compliments like you would anyone else.
and of course, donât ask for deadnames or pre-transition selfies. if a trans person wants you to know, theyâll tell you themselves. if they want you to see what they were like pre-transition/in the closet theyâll show you. bringing that shit up can be very triggering, or it might not bother them at all but either way itâs none of your business and it isnât your right to ask.
if anyone has any other things cis people should be cautious of for tdov feel free to add on, make sure nobody gets hurt.
Happy #TransDayOfVisibility to my trans siblings out there! Have a wonderful day and keep being amazing!!
This! I very much agree! I second it since I forgot to do my three. Also Kaitlyn almost died in book one. It is not an understatement to say that she has gone through some hell in her college years. I would argue she is one of the realest characters with her flaws and development.
The bracelet scene is one my favourites. I was tearing up right alongside Kaitlyn. đ˘
1.) Whatâs your favorite Kaitlyn chapter/scene?
2.) 3 things you love about kaitlyn and why?
Hey everyone, Abby here with another writing post! Today weâre talking about those classic characters, the ones who have crushes and no idea how to act on them.
Everyone knows that one person who canât relationship. They canât romance and at the moment it seems hopeless, but itâs also kind of entertaining to see how things work out for them. Today Iâm giving advice on how to write that character, things to do and not to do, as well as some ideas to get the inspiration flowing.
So, your character doesnât know anything about relationships. How do we know? These things usually start off with two things: a crush and a character who has no idea what to do with it. Do they act on it? Do they not? Do they stay friends? Do they just keep staring until their crush gets the message and asks them out? (That was weirdly specific but weâre rolling with it.) Who knows? Not them.
Weâre also going to remember that anyone can have no idea how to relationship. Itâs not always the quiet kid in the back with the high grades and big glasses, please remember this. It can be the star of the basketball team or the girl whoâs friends with everyone. It can be anyone.
Also, thereâs a difference between being âgood in bedâ and knowing how to maintain a proper relationship. There is a huge difference. Characters like this who get into serious relationships can end up being abusive or (more likely) only in it for the sex. If the other person wants a legitimate relationship, things arenât going to work out.
If youâre character has no idea what theyâre doing, they probably fall into one of two categories. Theyâve either never been in a relationship or theyâve been in multiple that didnât make it very far. So, you could probably consider them naive when it comes to relationships. So when they get into a real, lasting one, theyâre going to be in love with the idea of being involved with someone. This can often be a misunderstanding or misinterpretation; they might project that love of being in a relationship onto the person theyâre with, which could lead to some major issues.
Another problem is the media. It only portrays the extremes. You never see anything in the media about people in regular relationships, theyâre either madly in love or falling apart. Thereâs no in between, and because your character has no experience to tell them otherwise they could fall into the trap of believing thatâs the way real life goes. (Hint: itâs not.) This could end up creating a lot of unnecessary drama when things are going fine, because thereâs nothing you would see in the news about that and your character expects action.
I just realized Iâve made this more of a list of the negatives of writing these characters. Why not some positives?
This is a relationship, and itâs important to them. If your character cares, theyâre going to do everything they can to keep this relationship in a healthy state. This could include things like random little surprises, trips to random places for some time away, things like that. These things are all considered endearing and will definitely earn them some Romance Pointsâ˘.Â
If this character hasnât been involved with anyone in a while (or ever) and theyâre happy in their relationship, you bet theyâre going to talk about it. This might include proclamations about how happy they are, how great their partner is, etc.
If your story is set in todayâs world, the Internet is a thing. Theyâll probably be turning to all sorts of articles to help them out, and the fact that theyâre doing this is definitely a good thing. Even if they do something wrong, they cared enough to try.
So, there are some tips to follow. Just to get the ball rolling (because this topic isnât a stranger to anyone, Iâm sure) Iâm going to throw in a few examples/ideas for your clueless characters.
Being afraid to talk to their crush.
Thinking about simple exchanges (saying hello in the hallways) for ten million years.
Finally working up the nerve to ask their crush out.
The intense joy that comes after they say yes.
Or the bout of sadness that comes from rejection.
Brainstorming little things to do, like making breakfast in bed or arriving to their house with a bouquet of flowers.
Intense confusion about first kisses, when they should happen, how they should go.
Long phone calls or texting late at night, being exhausted in the morning but itâs okay because at least they got to talk.
Things like this. I would probably die of a cute overload if book characters did anything like that; maybe Iâm reading the wrong genre, but I donât think I see enough of it.
Anyway, thatâs all Iâve got for today. Like a lot of the topics I write about, there are plenty more pointers to give, but I think this would be enough to get you going. If thereâs anything youâd like to see me write about in my next post, please donât hesitate to leave a message in my ask. Until next time, stay lovely <333
Everyone who gets like really into Greek mythology either ends up worshipping the gods, studying classics, gay, or somehow all three at once
Hey I made a bracket for the Choices love interests! (plus Poppy and Olivia to make the numbers even, since they seem to be commonly wanted as LIs)
Have at it!
while i get and agree with the fact that gay people should probably play gay people and gay stories are best written by gay people, the fervor to prove that âstraight people shouldnât play gay characters!!â is what the interviewer used to forcibly out lee pace so like
idk maybe slow your roll and realize that like⌠actors can be closeted, content creators can be closeted, and tbh this âyou can only write your own experiences, never write someone elseâsâ rhetoric is also a bigotâs fucking wet dream?? like the perfect excuse to never write diverse characters?? and to say that they have nothing in common with people who donât look/love/exist the same way as them??
yeah, the author of simon vs the homo sapienâs agenda is a cis straight woman, which means love, simon (though directed by a married gay man with multiple gay characters played by gay/bi actors) is based on a novel written by a straight woman⌠but this straight woman literally ends her book acknowledging the LGBT teens who helped her write the book and make sure she was writing it appropriately.
this is the content we want
listen⌠EVERY SINGLE piece of media EVER involves some level of writing about experiences that are not your own, especially if itâs diverse. even bland stories just about white people involves an author writing about genders that are not their own. if you want a story with characters of color, white authors are going to have to write about those perspectives. if you want gay characters in every story, straight authors are gonna have to write about those perspectives. even LGBT narratives might involve gay authors writing about bi characters or cis authors writing about trans characters.
what we HOPE FOR when they do that is that they talk to people⌠actually belonging to those groups to learn what is and isnât appropriate and true to life. which is what the author of simon vs the homo sapienâs agenda did.
itâs exactly what she did. she literally worked in a support group for LGBT and GNC kids, saw they did not have cute love stories written for them after they told her this, and then worked with them to give them the love story they craved.
this is a good thing. this is progress for lgbt people. this is the path we need to walk towards getting LGBT content created by LGBT authors.
when you attempt to take the ~moral ground on protesting this film, all youâre doing is telling people who fund these projects that gay products donât sell. they donât get the nuance of what youâre going for. and, chances are, youâre looking like a fucking hypocrite, because i can promise you most of the canon gay characters you stan profit a cishet somehow (if theyâre even canon).
so, yâunno, as someone who has read simon vs the homo sapienâs agenda AND seen the fucking movie let me tell you!! itâs fine!! itâs diverse beyond having gay character, itâs written respectively, and it hit home on a lot of experiences i WISH i had as a gay teen. itâs corny, itâs silly, and itâs all i ever would have wanted at 13, 14, 15
if you donât want to see it, just fucking say so! but donât act like youâre doing it on moral grounds. you can just⌠not like a movie or not want to see it without it being some moral victory.
Hereâs mine!
this is ugly but i donât have patience ever
here you go team watch your favorite books duke it out for whichever you think is the best bookâŚâŚâŚ.. no1 @ me about the matchups
bloodboundâs here cause i had an uneven number lmaoâŚâŚ
I just do not see how it would be possible at all. The storytelling is too dependent on the LI's problems. They would have to kill off every LI because otherwise they would have to write five seperate parts to avoid huge weird gaps. And you know that will never happen.
Okay like I know none of the LIs are dead in TF/TS cuz like thatâs so cruel but at the same time I can totally see PB being THAT extra and that petty like âoh yâall donât like TF/TS? Fine then what if we KILL OFF YOUR LI!!!â
Meanwhile at the PB emergency meeting...
"WHO LEAKED THIS INFORMATION? WE WERE GOING TO CHARGE FOR THAT!"
Crack theory time.
The Endless Summer crew managed to save the World, but unbeknownst to them they ended up back in time.
So they hop onto a plane and start flying back home. But because Jake is flying they crash and die horribly.
The only thing to survive the crash unscathed is Jakeâs jacket (because it got âaccidentallyâ thrown from the plane). The jacket is blown away by the wind until it is found by a Berry High student
And that is how Micheal Harison got his signature lookâŚ.

Anon, keep in mind that she has spent her whole life being prepared for courtly life without any care for money. Like jbzxls said, she is in an environment where those skills shine. Take her out of her element and she will likely struggle like the rest of us.

I love Hana, but itâs getting kind of ridiculous that sheâs so good at every single thing she does. No one is that talented at EVERYTHING.Â
