࿐ ࿔:・゚Warnings: curse words

The music inside the party was deafening, the bass rattling through y/n’s chest as she weaved through the crowd. It smelled like expensive perfume and alcohol, bodies pressed together in the dimly lit room, but she didn’t care about any of it. Not when her eyes were locked on him.

Riki was leaning against the bar, laughing at something a girl whispered in his ear. She was close—too close—her manicured nails tracing along the sleeve of his jacket like she had every right to be there. And the worst part? He wasn’t stopping her.

Y/n felt her stomach twist, a sick, ugly feeling clawing at her insides. She didn’t move, didn’t say anything. She just stood there, watching, feeling like an idiot for expecting anything different.

She should have left. Should have turned around and walked right out of the party like none of this mattered. But instead, she grabbed a drink off the nearest table and downed it in one go, ignoring the burn in her throat. She needed something—anything—to drown out the anger rising in her chest.

Because this wasn’t supposed to hurt.

They weren’t supposed to be like this.

They were just messing around—no strings, no feelings. That was the deal. That was what Riki wanted.

So why the fuck did it feel like she was suffocating?

She didn’t wait for him to notice her before she turned on her heel and stormed outside, the cold air slapping her in the face as she stepped onto the empty street.

She shouldn’t care. She shouldn’t care. She shouldn’t care.

But she did.

And she hated herself for it.

y/n was halfway down the sidewalk when she heard footsteps behind her, heavy and hurried.

“Y/n—”

She clenched her jaw, her steps quickening. “Don’t.”

“Y/n, stop.”

His voice was sharp, cutting through the night like a knife. She let out a bitter laugh but stopped anyway, turning to face him.

Riki stood there, breathing hard, his jaw tight. He looked frustrated—maybe even angry. Like she was the problem. Like she was the one making things complicated.

“What the fuck was that?” he demanded.

She let out a harsh laugh. “Are you seriously asking me that right now?”

“Yes, I am.” His voice was lower now, more serious. “You just disappeared. You could’ve at least told me—”

“Told you what, Riki?” she snapped, cutting him off. “That I was sick of standing there, watching you flirt with someone else like I don’t even fucking exist?”

His expression flickered, something unreadable passing through his eyes. “It wasn’t like that.”

“Oh, fuck off,” she spat. “It’s always like that. Every single time.”

Riki dragged a hand through his hair, exhaling sharply. “y/n, you knew what this was.”

She laughed again, but this time, it was empty. “Right. No feelings, no expectations. Just fucking and pretending like it means nothing.” She took a step closer, her voice lowering. “But here’s the thing, Riki—I can’t do it anymore. I can’t keep acting like I don’t care when I do. I can’t keep pretending I’m okay with being just another girl you push aside when you get bored.”

His eyes darkened. “That’s not what this is.”

“Then what is it?” she challenged.

He opened his mouth, then closed it.

And that was the problem, wasn’t it?

Riki felt something. She knew he did. It was in the way he kissed her when no one was looking, the way he always pulled her back in after every argument, the way he always found her in a crowded room like he couldn’t help himself.

But he would never say it.

Because if he admitted it, then it would be real. And if it was real, then he couldn’t just walk away when it got too much.

“Say it,” she pushed, her voice trembling now. “Say you don’t feel anything for me, and I’ll walk away right now.”

He stared at her, his chest rising and falling, his hands clenched into fists like he was fighting some invisible war.

Seconds passed. Then more.

And then he shook his head. “You don’t get it.”

“No, you don’t get it,” she shot back. “You’re scared. You’re so fucking scared of actually feeling something that you’d rather push me away than admit it.”

His jaw tightened, but he didn’t deny it.

And that was all the confirmation she needed.

y/n exhaled, taking a step back. Her heart felt like it was being ripped apart, but she forced herself to meet his gaze one last time.

“I can’t be the only one fighting for this, Riki.” Her voice was barely above a whisper now. “If you don’t want me, just say it. Say it so I can stop fucking hurting like this.”

Silence.

His lips parted like he wanted to say something—anything—but nothing came out.

Y/n nodded to herself, swallowing the lump in her throat. “That’s what I thought.”

She turned around and started walking, ignoring the way her vision blurred, ignoring the way her chest ached.

She kept waiting for him to stop her.

But he didn’t.

And that hurt more than anything else ever could.

I HATE THAT I LOVE YOU | 리키

I HATE THAT I LOVE YOU | 리키

PAIRINGS. fwb!riki x reader

GENRE. angst, friends to ???

WARNINGS. swearing, kissing

SYNOPSIS. you didn't know being in a situationship was this complicated, especially when the person you're with it is your bestfriend.

SHO'S NOTE. inspired by my bae's ( @nishikio ) fic “It was never just fun” go check it out :]

I HATE THAT I LOVE YOU | 리키

YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED A LOVE LIFE, watching the cheesy couples act all lovey-dovey during the love month was an eyesore. only becuase you didn't have one of your own.

well, you kind of had one.

your bestfriend, riki. you wouldn't really call him your lover, it's not really official. you don't even remember how it happened. you both just flirted with one another and it flowed into.. whatever this is.

he'd buy you flowers, call you “baby” or “pretty”, take you out on dates, but he'd also ignore your texts, tease you too much, and just simply be a jerk.

you're lying if you said you didn't actually like him. you did, you really do. but it pains you that you don't even know if he does too, or all of this is just some fun to him.

and it doesn't help that he constantly gives you mixed signals.

KI : hello, pretty

: morning, riki :)

KI : you free after school?

: i think so, yeah. why?

KI : go to a party with me. I'll pick you up at 7.

: see you there <3

[ KI reacted '♡' to your message.]

great, a party. you enjoyed being in some, but you really didn't want to go in a party on the night of valentines, you're positive that the room will just be filled with your friends with their partners.

and well, you can't really call him that.

you spent the rest of the afternoon getting ready, putting on your silky red dress, and a plump pink lipstick. you kept your hair simply by just wearing it down. you made your way over to your living room, the sound of your velvety heels making contact with each step.

not long after your doorbell rang, you opened it as your eyes were met with rikis, his outfit simple yet still giving him the elegant look. his chrome hearts hoodie with his pants.

“good evening, gorgeous.”

you chuckled, “oh don't bait me with flattery. let's go,” he grinned as he took your hand and led you to his car as he drove you both to the party. as you expected, it was filled with lovebirds, some even kissing here and there. others are already wasted.

you both made your way to your friendgroup, they knew you and riki weren't just friends, but they were aware you weren't really something. the night went on with you and riki gulping down a few shots. you weren't much of a big drinker. you were starting to get tipsy.

you and riki were on the corner of the room, absentmindedly observing everyone dance and go out and about. you turned to riki, admiring his features. “you're s'handsome,” he chuckled at your giggly tone. “mmh you're just drunk, pretty.” he held your waist gently, just incase your legs begin to give out. “'m not, your lips are plump too.” you stared into them, the gap between you two ever so close.

fuck it. he pressed his lips onto yours, closing his eyes as he melted onto you, for the very first time. he pulled away slowly, realizing what he just did.

fuck, you've never kissed before. and he did it without your consent. this was you and him's first kiss too.

he wiped his lips, your strawberry flavored lippie still lingering within his.

as the night buried on more, he decided to drive you back home. and afterwards went home to his own apartment.

all he could think about was how wrong it was for him to kiss you. you were drunk, what if you didn't want that at all? plus, in you whole 'relationship' you've never kissed before. he doesn't even know if you truly like him or if this is just some no-strings-attached thing.

whatever it was, he knew the solution was to get rid of his feelings. he hated you, he hated your smile, he hated your laugh, he hated your voice. and most of all, he hated how he didn't even hate you one bit.

I HATE THAT I LOVE YOU | 리키

the day after that you went to school, looking for him. completely oblivious to what happened the previous night. the only recent memory that was left in your mind was you swallowing lots of alcohol.

you spotted him in his usual spot in the cafeteria, you approached him, but he simply gave you a cold look.

“soo, did you have fun last night?” he hummed. that's it. you sighed. this wasn't new. he would always be sweet & charming one moment, then the next it's like he doesn't want you at all. it annoyed you.

you thought it'd be a pattern, sweet then not, sweet then not. but to your surprise the next couple of days were silent. he didn't approach you, call you pretty, or give you any affection. you were curious. and a little hurt angry. did something happen that night? did you do something wrong?

you were going to talk to him but as you went to where you usually saw him, there he was, standing beside his locker with some girl clinging onto him. she looked at him with heart eyes. and he laughed, smiling with her.

that made your heart break into little pieces. yeah sure, he wasn't your boyfriend, but that 'moments' you have together mean nothing to him? were you really just a pawn?

you watched from afar as you clutched your jacket. you didn't even notice the tears in your eyes. why was he so important to you? worst of all, why him?

you went home that day with a heavy heart pounding in your chest. you barely got any sleep. your mind occupied with the memory of him with that girl.

it shouldn't hurt. but it did.

the next few days, the only view that clouded the school was him and that stupid girl. you see him doing the things he did to you, accompany her, buy her snacks from the caféteria, and just simply be there. each moment hurt more than the last.

the last class of the day finally ended. you went out the classroom, only to be met with the sight of him and the girl, again. you were going to tear your eyes off them, but was distracted when she kisses him.

she kissed him. his first kiss.

your heart shattered, once again. he never did that with you.

your tears formed quickly, you rub your eyes and ran. not knowing riki saw you and followed quickly.

you stormed off the school, your brain mindlessly fogged with that scene. why? why was it so easy for him to replace you?

“___!” you heard him call out, his hand grabbed your fist and turned you around. “please, hear me out-” he pleaded, you yelled, “what? that you suddenly went distant then found a girl better than me?” you wiped your tears, not wanting your eyes to meet his.

“it's not like that!” “then what?” you pulled your wrist out of his grasp, “was I that replaceable to you? I thought we had something- but.. I guess not! you even had your first kiss with he—” he cut you off, “she's not my first kiss, you are!” your eyes widened, in complete disbelief. “h-huh?..” you stared at him.

“look, the night at the party—you were drunk, and you caressed my lips and I wasn't thinking so I just kissed you, and I really fucking wanted to do that for a long time, but I don't even know if you liked me seriously or not, and I swear nothing else happened, but I felt really REALLY bad because I just kissed you even if I didn't know if you want to- and I was so in pain because I like you a lot, and I wanted it to go away, so I pretended to like this girl who liked me and she sucks, and then she suddenly kissed me and I wanted nothing but to reel your lips again, because I hate you so much and I hate that I love you, but really I don't!”

he flipped his hair, sighing. “and I completely understand if you don't feel the sa—” you cut him off, pulling him by his collar and pressing your lips against his. for a moment, he freezes. but he soon melts into your lips, kissing you back, just like the first time.

“I.. that was..” he panted, breathless.

“I love you, pretty. I mean it.” you hugged him. and his hands wrapped around your waist, he kissed your forehead. you giggled. “I love you too,”

“you promise?”

“pinky promise.”

Riki didn’t go back inside the party. He couldn’t.

Not when his mind was still stuck on the way y/n had looked at him—like she was done, like she was finally slipping through his fingers, and he had no one to blame but himself.

He stood there on the sidewalk long after she left, staring at the empty street, fists clenched at his sides. His whole body felt tense, like he was seconds away from breaking something.

She wanted him to say it.

To admit it.

But how the fuck was he supposed to say something that terrified him?

riki had never been good at feelings. He didn’t do relationships. Didn’t do commitment. It was easier not to care, to keep things simple.

But y/n wasn’t simple, She never had been.

And now, she was gone.

The thought alone made his stomach sink.

He pulled his phone out, fingers hovering over her contact. He wanted to text her—say something, anything to fix this. But what the fuck was he supposed to say?

“Sorry for being emotionally unavailable?”

“Sorry for acting like you didn’t mean something when you fucking do?”

He scoffed, shoving his phone back into his pocket. He had no right to text her. No right to chase after her when he was the one who pushed her away.

But that didn’t stop him from wanting to.

y/n was still wide awake when her phone buzzed at 2 a.m.

She knew who it was before she even looked.

Riki.

She stared at the screen for a long moment, her chest tightening. She wanted to ignore it. She should ignore it.

But she didn’t.

Riki: Are you home?

Her fingers hovered over the keyboard. Her first instinct was to leave him on read. Let him wonder. Let him feel even an ounce of what she felt tonight.

But she hated that she still cared.

y/n: Why do you care?

Three dots appeared. Then disappeared. Then came back again.

Riki: Just answer the goddamn question.

She exhaled sharply, rolling onto her back, staring up at the ceiling. He wasn’t even trying to be subtle. He wanted to know she was safe, but he couldn’t just say that.

y/n: Yeah, I’m home.

She expected him to leave it at that. Maybe even say good. But instead—

Riki: Open the door.

Her breath caught.

She sat up so fast she got dizzy, eyes widening at the message. He’s here?

y/n hesitated for half a second before throwing the covers off and heading for the door. When she swung it open, Riki was standing there, hood up, hands shoved into his pockets, looking every bit as reckless and conflicted as she felt.

She crossed her arms. “What the hell are you doing here?”

He exhaled, dragging a hand down his face. “I don’t know.”

“Bullshit.”

His jaw clenched. “I just—I couldn’t—” He let out a frustrated sigh. “I didn’t want to leave it like that.”

She laughed dryly. “So what? You’re here to apologize?”

Riki looked at her, and something in his gaze made her stomach twist. “I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing, y/n. I just know I couldn’t sleep knowing you were pissed at me.”

She shook her head, swallowing the lump in her throat. “You don’t get to do this, Riki. You don’t get to act like you care but refuse to actually say it.”

His expression hardened. “You think this is easy for me?”

“Yes!” she snapped. “Because you get to have it both ways. You get to keep me close enough when you need me but push me away when it gets too fucking real.”

He flinched, and for the first time, she saw it—fear. Not anger. Not frustration. Just pure, unfiltered fear in his eyes.

She softened. Just a little.

“Why are you so scared of me?” she asked, voice quieter now.

He looked away, jaw tight. “I’m not.”

“Yes, you are,” she insisted. “You’re scared of us. Of what this could be. And you’d rather destroy it before it even happens than admit that you actually—”

“Don’t,” he cut her off, voice strained.

She sucked in a breath. “Don’t what?”

“Don’t fucking say it.”

“Say what?” she pressed. “That you care?”

He exhaled sharply, like the word itself was suffocating him.

y/n let out a humorless laugh. “You know what’s funny? You’ve already lost me, riki. And you still can’t say it.”

Silence.

Just his heavy breathing, her pounding heart, and the tension so thick she felt like she might choke on it.

She took a slow step back. “Go home, riki.”

His jaw clenched, hands twitching at his sides, like he wanted to reach for her but didn’t know how.

He didn’t move.

Neither did she.

Until finally, she took another step back and shut the door in his face.

And this time, he let her.

༄.° The fog thickens—requests are closed for now .ᐟ

ᯓ I write fluff, angst, and suggestive themes—Expect a mix of soft moments and heavy emotions.

ᯓ Let’s keep the fog free of negativity. This is a space for stories, not hate. Be respectful, or you’ll find yourself lost in the mist—blocked.

ᯓ If my work drifts into your thoughts, reblog and share any feedback—it’d mean the world and brighten the fog.

ᯓ Don’t hesitate to send requests or messages—I love receiving them, as long as they’re respectful

ᯓ The fog may be thick, and I may be lost in my own world, so please be patient while I craft your request. Life exists beyond the mist, after all.

ᯓ If a request cannot find its way through the fog or simply doesn’t stir my imagination, I may not write it—and that’s not a reflection of you, just a path I can’t walk.

ᯓ Don’t be shy—let’s be friends! I’m always excited to meet new people, and together we can help break through the fog and make this journey much brighter.

riki didn’t know why he was still standing at the edge of her apartment complex, hands shoved deep into his pockets, heart hammering like a drum in his chest.

He had walked away, hadn’t he?

He had left.

He had told himself that was it.

But now, with every step he took away from her, he realized just how wrong he was.

He couldn’t forget her.

He couldn’t stop thinking about the way she felt against him, how she tasted, how the world had melted away the second their lips collided.

He was hungry for her.

His body craved her, ached for her. And he couldn’t escape the gnawing feeling that corrupted him

y/n had just finished dealing with errands, her body tired and sore, when she heard the knock at her door. It was a familiar sound, but this time it made her heart skip a beat.

She stood still for a moment, unsure, her mind racing. She hadn’t expected him. Not now. Not after everything.

But the knock came again, more urgent this time.

Slowly, she moved toward the door, her hand resting on the doorknob. She hesitated for a moment, her breath catching. Was she ready for this? Was she ready to face him after everything they’d been through?

She exhaled shakily, steeling herself.

With a deep breath, she opened the door.

riki stood there, his eyes searching hers. There was no anger in them, no bitterness—just something raw, something he couldn’t hide. His face softened when their eyes met, but neither of them said anything at first.

y/n could see the conflict in his gaze. The same ache she had felt. And in that moment, something inside her broke, the walls she had carefully built around her heart cracking just enough to let him in.

She stepped back, silently inviting him in. She didn’t need to say anything. The door was open, and so was she.

riki took a hesitant step forward, the weight of his own emotions making each movement feel like a thousand pound burden. He crossed the threshold, and for a moment, neither of them spoke.

It was as if the simple act of being in the same space again had already begun to fill the gaps that had been left in their lives.

Without a word, y/n closed the door behind him. They stood there for a beat, the air between them thick with unspoken thoughts but y/n could feel the familiar pull toward him, the one that had never really disappeared.

The moment stretched, thick with tension, as riki’s lips brushed against y/n’s skin. Every kiss, every touch, every move made his body ache for more

Her hands slid up his chest, fingers trembling as she gripped his shirt, tugging it off with desperate urgency. His heart pounded against his ribcage as he followed suit, pulling her shirt over her head, revealing the bare skin he’d missed more than he could admit.

He could feel her pulse racing beneath his fingertips, just like his own. They were moving in sync, a rhythm they had never lost, even after the distance, even after the time apart.

y/n’s eyes locked with his—dark, heated, full of need—and in that instant, riki knew there was no turning back. They were both too far gone to stop.

“Tell me you still want me,” y/n whispered, her voice a breathless plea.

riki didn’t think twice. He crashed his lips against hers, his hands roaming down her body as if he were memorizing the feel of her.

“More than anything,” he muttered between kisses. His voice was thick, heavy with desire. “I never stopped wanting you.”

y/n’s hands slid down his back, pulling him even closer, if that was possible. Her body pressed against his, and riki could feel every curve of her, every inch of her.

He couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t think.

All he could do was feel.

Her lips parted for him, and he took the invitation, deepening the kiss, pushing her against the bed. He could hear the sound of her breath hitching, feel the way she arched against him, desperate for more.

“Riki…” Her voice trembled, fingers now working at the waistband of his pants.

He groaned, pulling away just long enough to look at her. The hunger in her eyes mirrored his own, and for a split second, he almost lost himself in it.

“y/n…” His voice was strained, barely a whisper. “Are you sure?”

Her answer came in the form of a fierce kiss, one that stole his breath and made his mind spin. She didn’t pull away. Didn’t hesitate. She wanted him.

And that was all the confirmation he needed.

He kissed her again, his hands trailing down her sides, urging her to move with him. Every inch of her body was like fire, like something he could never extinguish, something he would never be able to walk away from again.

They didn’t slow down. Didn’t stop. It was like they were racing against time, against their own resolve, against whatever might come next.

The world outside didn’t exist.

There was only y/n.

And there was only riki.

And they were completely, utterly lost in each other.

࿐ ࿔:・゚Pairing: idolbf!riki x f!reader

──── ୨୧ ────

It’s late. The lights from the concert stage have long faded, leaving only the quiet hum of the city beneath the hotel room. Y/n sits by the window, watching the lights flicker below. The glass feels cold against her fingertips, a contrast to the warmth that used to exist between her and riki. But that warmth has been fading—slowly at first, then all at once, like the last ember of a fire dying out.

The door clicks open behind her. She doesn’t turn around. She doesn’t have to. She knows it’s him.

Riki steps inside, still in his stage clothes, his hair a little messy from the performance, but there’s no exhaustion in his posture—only distance. His presence doesn’t fill the room the way it used to. If anything, it makes it feel smaller, suffocating.

y/n swallows the lump in her throat and stands, her heart already racing. “Riki,” she says softly, trying to keep her voice steady. “Are you okay?”

He doesn’t answer right away. He just exhales sharply, dragging a hand through his hair before tossing his bag onto the bed with more force than necessary. The silence stretches between them, thick and unbearable.

And then, without even looking at her, he says, “We need to talk.”

The words hit like a slap. Y/n’s stomach twists painfully, but she forces herself to nod. “Okay,” she whispers. “Then talk.”

Riki finally meets her gaze, and for the first time in weeks, she realizes how far away he already is. There’s something cold in his expression—indifference, maybe, or something even worse.

“I can’t do this anymore,” he says bluntly. “Us.”

y/n flinches. It’s not what he’s saying, it’s how he’s saying it. Detached. Like she’s a problem he’s finally found the courage to get rid of.

“What?” Her voice cracks, but she doesn’t care. “You can’t just—riki, where is this coming from?”

His jaw clenches. He looks away, shaking his head. “Don’t act like you didn’t see this coming. You had to have felt it, too.”

She takes a step forward, desperate, grasping at something—anything. “Felt what? That you’ve been ignoring me? That you’ve been pushing me away?” She exhales shakily. “I thought we were just going through a rough patch. I thought you just needed time.”

Riki scoffs, and the sound cuts through her like a knife. “Time?” He lets out a bitter laugh, finally meeting her eyes again. “Y/n, I’ve been trying. I really have. But I just… I don’t feel the same way anymore.”

The room spins.

No. No, he’s lying. He has to be.

Her hands tremble as she shakes her head. “You don’t mean that.”

“Yeah,” he breathes. “I do.”

The finality in his tone makes her knees go weak.

She lets out a shuddering breath, forcing herself to stand her ground. “So that’s it? You’re just done? Just like that?”

Riki shrugs, like it doesn’t even matter. Like she doesn’t even matter. “It’s not working anymore.”

Y/n stares at him, trying to find something—anything—that resembles the boy she fell in love with. But she can’t. He’s already gone.

“You’re a coward,” she whispers, her voice thick with tears. “You don’t get to stand here and act like I’m the problem. You’re the one who gave up.”

riki’s expression hardens, his gaze sharp. “Maybe I did,” he says coldly. “And maybe you should, too.”

The words steal the air from her lungs.

She bites her lip to stop the sob from escaping, blinking rapidly to clear her vision. But it’s useless. She’s breaking, and he’s just standing there, watching it happen.

Y/n inhales shakily, straightening her posture even though her heart is in pieces. “I hope you realize what you’re throwing away,” she murmurs. “I hope you regret this.”

Riki doesn’t flinch. He doesn’t even blink. “I won’t.”

And that’s what finally makes her stop fighting.

She nods slowly, taking a step back. “Okay,” she whispers. “Then I won’t, either.”

She turns before he can see her cry. Before she can change her mind.

She doesn’t slam the door when she leaves. She doesn’t say goodbye.

She just walks away.

And this time, he doesn’t stop her.

It was one of those nights—no schedules, no calls, no cameras. Just them.

y/n was curled up in the corner of the couch, scrolling through her phone, still in riki’s hoodie, the sleeves swallowing her hands. The fabric was warm from his body heat, and the scent of his cologne lingered in the threads, making her feel safe. Riki, on the other hand, was stretched out beside her, long legs sprawled over the cushions, one arm draped lazily over the back of the couch.

They had been quiet for a while, just existing in each other’s space, but riki wasn’t the type to sit still for long.

“You’re too far,” he mumbled, his voice low and slightly raspy from exhaustion.

y/n barely glanced up. “I’m literally right next to you.”

riki, unimpressed with her response, reached out, fingers brushing over the hem of the hoodie she wore. In one swift motion, he tugged her closer, effortlessly pulling her into his lap.

“Riki!” she yelped, but he only smirked, tightening his arms around her waist so she couldn’t escape.

“This is better,” he murmured, resting his chin on her shoulder. His voice was softer now, as if the world outside their apartment didn’t exist—just the warmth of her pressed against him.

Y/n sighed, but she didn’t fight him. Instead, she let herself relax against his chest, her fingers absentmindedly tracing patterns over his arm.

riki hummed, his lips brushing against the curve of her neck,y/n shivered at the feeling, warmth creeping up her spine.

riki, pulling back slightly so he could look at her. His eyes were laced with something unspoken, something soft. His fingers found her cheek, tracing along her jaw before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

For a moment, neither of them spoke. Y/n just stared at him, taking in the way his gaze flickered over her face—her eyes, her nose, the curve of her lips.

“What?” she asked, voice quieter now.

riki tilted his head, a lazy smirk playing at the corner of his mouth. “Nothing. Just thinking about how pretty you are.”

y/n rolled her eyes, but the way her fingers curled into his hoodie betrayed her. “You always say that.”

“And I’ll keep saying it.”

He leaned in then, pressing his lips against her temple, then her cheek, then just below her ear, where she was most sensitive. She felt his smirk against her skin when she squirmed.

“Riki,” she warned.

“What?” he murmured, his breath warm against her neck. “I’m just appreciating my girlfriend. Is that a crime?”

Y/n bit back a smile, threading her fingers through his hair as she pulled back just enough to look him in the eyes. “If it was, you’d be in jail by now.”

riki chuckled, but his grip on her waist tightened, his fingers slipping beneath the hoodie to rest against her skin. She felt the warmth of his hands, his touch grounding, familiar.

“Stay like this for a while,” he said, more serious now.

y/n softened. “Okay.”

And so they stayed. Wrapped up in each other, warmth shared in the quiet of the night. It was the kind of love that didn’t need grand gestures or spoken confessions—it was just them. Just love.

y/n barely glanced up.

“riki..” she warned.

“Stay like this for a while” he said, more serious now.

y/n softened. “Okay.”

And so they stayed. Wrapped up in each other, warmth shared in the quiet of the night. It was the kind of love that didn’t need grand gestures or spoken confessions—it was just them. Just love.

note:hiii this is my first time publishing an imagine so I hope whoever reads this enjoys ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡

──── ୨୧ ────

Y/n and riki had spent the day running around with busy schedules, but tonight, they decided to unwind and bake together. It was a small moment of peace, and they had both been looking forward to it all day. The kitchen smelled of vanilla and butter as y/n carefully measured out the ingredients, while riki hovered near her, arms crossed.

“You sure you don’t need my help?” riki teased, his voice light but filled with mischief. He leaned against the counter, eyes tracing the movements of her hands as she mixed the flour.

“I’m good,” y/n replied, glancing up at him with a playful smile. “But you can keep me company while I work.”

riki grinned, taking a step closer. “I like the sound of that.”

As she cracked an egg into the bowl, a little bit of shell fell into the mix. y/n frowned, reaching for the spoon to remove it. But before she could, riki was there, his hand brushing against hers as he plucked the tiny shell out with ease.

“You’re too focused,” he whispered, his voice low as he stepped closer, his lips brushing against her ear. “You need a break.”

y/n turned her head slightly, her gaze catching his. “A break from baking or from you?”

He chuckled, his breath warm against her neck. “Both.”

Without warning, he gently placed his hand on her lower back, pulling her just a bit closer. y/n felt the heat of his body press against hers, and for a second, she froze, feeling the tension in the air shift. He was standing so close, and she could feel the subtle brush of his fingers against her skin.

“You’re distracting me,” y/n murmured, trying to keep her composure, but her voice gave away the hint of fluster.

riki’s smirk grew, his hands slowly trailing up her sides, sending electric tingles through her. “I thought that was the idea,” he whispered, his lips grazing her ear. “You’re so focused… it’s cute.”

y/n tried to focus on the bowl in front of her, but her mind was slipping, her body reacting to the closeness of his touch. Her hands fumbled slightly as she tried to continue mixing the ingredients, but riki wasn’t having it. He gently took the bowl from her hands, setting it aside. “You’re too distracted now. Just take a break, y/n,” he said, his tone soft but full of intent.

y/n was about to protest but found herself leaning into him instead, his presence a comforting weight against her. She could feel his fingers brushing the back of her neck, a small touch that sent shivers down her spine.

“You’re a handful,” she whispered, her voice low, a slight laugh escaping her lips as she let herself relax against him.

riki smiled, his hands moving to cup her face gently, tilting her head up to meet his gaze. “I can’t help it,” he murmured, brushing his lips over her forehead before softly kissing her lips.

The kiss was slow at first, tender but teasing, his lips barely touching hers before pulling away just as she leaned in. y/n’s heart raced as she felt the heat from his kiss, his hands sliding down her arms until they rested on her waist, pulling her even closer. She could feel his breath on her lips, the warmth from his body, and for a brief moment, she was lost in him.

When they finally pulled away, y/n was breathless, a light flush across her cheeks. “Alright, let’s get back to baking,” she said, trying to sound casual, but her voice was shaky, betraying her.

riki smirked, brushing a thumb over her bottom lip as he stepped back, but he wasn’t ready to let go just yet. “Later,” he murmured, his lips grazing hers again, this time a little more urgent, a little more heated. y/n melted into the kiss, her fingers moving to his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart. She could taste him, the sweetness lingering on her lips, and the desire to be closer to him almost overwhelmed her.

As they pulled away, both of them breathless, y/n laughed softly, her voice tinged with excitement. “Okay, we seriously should bake something...”

riki’s eyes glinted with something unreadable, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips. “Sure. But I’m still not leaving you alone for the rest of the night.”

y/n rolled her eyes, her hands sliding up to rest on his chest. “I guess I’m okay with that.” She pulled him back in for one last kiss, this one slow and lingering, before they finally turned back to the bowl of flour, both of them trying to regain some semblance of normalcy. But the tension between them lingered, thick and palpable, and both of them couldn’t help but smile at the thought of the rest of the night.

You put your phone face down onto the table and frowned deeply. What? A dating scandal? Fans knew you knew Enhypen. You and Riki just happened to be close! Why was it going to viral though?... Would this ruin your debut? Your thoughts spiraled. You ran your fingers through your hair and tied it up. Ready to practice your dances for your new song for the hundredth time...

It was an accident so hopefully you weren't going to be in too much trouble with your manager. It was meant in a friendly way and you meant to say it on your private. It was fine. Fine. Sure Riki was pretty. Very. But it wasn't like you like liked him..

Did you? You couldn't contain your millions of thoughts. You took a sip from your bottle and sighed. why now? You had such a busy couple days ahead. Three days and the song was out. Three days to release more images, to practice and perfect. It would be perfect. Your phone pinged and you picked it up again. Two notifications. One from your manager... Uh oh.

And so later that day you and Riki met for lunch not long later, he was sat at a table by himself, buried into his phone until you called his name, he looked up, smiled and waved.

"Hi! Thought you forgot for a second" he smiled and rubbed his arm on the crook of his neck, you laughed and shook your head "I'm so sorry! I got held up.. So.. What's our game plan?" You said she placed your lunch and juice carton onto the table.

"Um.. I suppose we could address it.. Or drag it on" he smiled but quickly switched up at your unamused look "sorry sorry. Just a joke!.." He smiled "oh I'm sorry! Just.. A little tired" you smiled back "so.. Maybe we should just deny it.." He nodded but looked unsure "yeah... I mean you want to just deny it right?" He gave you no response. "Riki?..." He broke out of his thought and looked at you "sorry sorry.. Um.. Could we leave here? Talk outside... Please?"

You raised your brow in confusion but nodded and followed him, picking up the tub your food was in and standing with him in an empty corridor "what's up Riki?" you smiled gently "you can call me Ni-ki if you'd like.. You know me more so I feel it would be fitting" you nodded "sure, Ni-ki, famous idol Niki!" You giggled and he pouted hard "okay maybe Riki then" he huffed.

"But anyways, what's wrong? Why'd you wanna leave?" You said to him and took his hands into yours, he gulped and looked up, locking eyes with you "okay so, when I made that joke about keeping the joke going.. Maybe I meant it not as a joke?.. " he frowned "I like you" he clutched your hands stronger "really. I really do since I met you when you first started training.. You're so pretty and funny and talented.. Be my girlfriend?"

You gasped and nodded "yes.. Yes please" you grin grew so big you feared your cheeks would rip. You giggled and smiled and he looked so relieved, his grip on your hand loosened and became more soft and gentle. "Now.. Let's go eat? And fully talk about this.. Maybe we should deny it to the public for now?" You said and he shook his head "let em know. Does it matter? You're mine, I'm yours, doesn't matter if they don't like it" he smirked, words confident in both of you.

And so, that night you spent at your boyfriends dorm, nestled in the fluffy flurry feelings of your new relationship. He kept talking to you, saying how proud he was, talking about his new music ideas, the music videos, photoshoots and magazines. It was so comforting. He was so comforting. "Yeah baby that sounds cool" you mumbled, head on his chest as you dozed off "you want me to keep talking or?.. " you just nodded "Mhm.. I wanna know, just a little sleepy" you smiled and he continued.

You wanted to thank that dumb scandal account, because now you had a loving supportive boyfriend. It was amazing and sure the relationship was new but with eachother? You knew it would last.

You four had decided to just meet at your place, your room would be big enough, you you had all your notepads and classwork books spilled pit on your bed. You'd even found your notes from last year to help Wonhee with her work. You'd bought snacks and even had your tv ready of they wanted to play music or watch movies... You were excited, dressed in your clothes, comfy but nicely. You wanted to make a good impression on Giselle and her mystery friend.

You heard the door ring and pulled on yours slippers, running down the stairs and unlocking the door, Heeseung and Wonhee. wasn't surprising that they arrived together. They'd been neighbors since middle school. "Hi!!! I brought strawberries.. And chocolate.. I was thinking we could like melt it?"

"Aww baby you didn't have to! Thanks! I already got some stuff" you smiled and led them upstairs "so... The pink notebook with the care bear on it is for you Wonnie! And the stuff for this year is like.. Over there! " you pointed at a pile of stuff on your floor he nodded and went over to it. He sat. One headphone in as he flipped through the pages "thanks" he smiled softly. Another ring of the doorbell. "I'll get it!" Wonhee smiled and ran down the stairs before.. Coming up again looking horrified "did.. Did someone invite Niki?"

Your heart froze and you felt everything in your body tightening in fear. Clammy cold sweat. Why was he at your house "what? What do you mean?" You frowned, brain already spiraling "he's probably not at this house... Maybe he's going to another house in this street" Heeseung said, eyes not lifting from the page "no no no, he rang the doorbell! Fuck! Hee.. Go open it.. I can't.." You said to him.

"Please" he just nodded and went down, when he came back up all he said was "Giselle invited him. I don't think he knows it's us tutoring him" "shittt" Wonhee whined "this was supposed to be fun!" She pouted and you smiled at her "it.. It will be. Go melt the chocolate like you wanted to." She nodded back at you and mirrored your smile.

"Okay. I'll be right back!" She ran down and Heeseung followed her "I'll make sure she doesn't blow up the kitchen" he smirked.

You took a deep breath and followed them. Instead of going to the kitchen you went and opened the front door. Shaky hands struggling. "Hi.. " you said harshly. He physically gulped and looked into your eyes "hi, um.. Is Giselle here?" You shook your head no "her and Winter are kinds late.. " he just nodded "can I come in?"

"Sure" you said and opened the door to let him in. You wouldn't ruin this for Winter, if you kicked him out it would upset Giselle and that would upset Winter. plus it was just a study group.. In your bedroom.. With your ex. Fuck.

Hours had passed, Winter and Giselle has arrived merely minutes after Riki.. Like it was somehow planned. But you were overthinking obviously.

Anyways. It went alright. You kept your distance from him most of the night. But he asked you for help on a subject that he knew you were good at. You had to help.

So you nodded and showed him how to, barely uttering a word until... His hand grazed your thigh and he quickly moved it "um. thanks for the help" he stood up and smiled, going back to sit next to Giselle as fast as lighting. Probably faster. He continued to do his work. Pink blush splotches on his cheeks. On your cheeks too. It was awkward and you knew you should feel angry. Disgusted even if it was an accident but.. You had butterflies. Their wings beating harsh against your insides as you remembered when things were good between you, merely a year and a half ago he wouldn't have moved his hand away, it would've rested their like it was meant to connect perfectly with your skin.

What you didn't hear was Giselle whispering to Riki "ahh.. I see..." she giggled and he blushed profusely and shook his head. She just laughed at him and ate her snacks with a smirk. Operation: Get-those-two-losers-to-admit-that-last-year-was-dumb-and-they-were-perfect-for-eachother was working!

As you responded to replies to you tweet you didn't even notice the line moving till something.. Someone, at full force slammed into your back, you wobbled but caught your balanced and turned around, you were greeted with the one face you didn't want to see at all being back here. Riki. Shit.

As you went to open your mouth, to apologize for being oblivious, causing the interaction he beat you to it "um... Hi, sorry" he said, voice sounding different than you remembered. Maybe more gritty? Older. Either way he had an unusual smile on his lips which immediately threw you off guard. He wasn't sorry. He looked like he was holding back a laugh, god he'd tell his friends about this and make you the laughing stock. Again.

So you turned around, stepped out of line, and sped walked faster than you ever had before down the corridor and into the safety of the girls bathroom, into a stall and sat on the toilet, knees to your chest as you tried to swallow the embarrassment. So much for avoiding him on your first day.
