Just did a few sketches waiting for my dad to be done his meeting so we can watch the death note finale together.

crack AU where L gets fed up with the task force complaining about him being chained to Light, snaps, and just brings in Near with the explanation that the issue is clearly that L is too old and Light should be supervised by someone within his age range. Cut to Light being absolutely livid for being demoted to a babysitter and getting chained to said baby (he doesn't know that Near is actually 13 and not like... 6. this also means he feels utterly insulted by L by calling Near "someone within Light's age range"). Fast forward a bit and Light and Near are actually getting along, which results in Watari overhearing L muttering "it should have been me..." more than once, with a depressed expression.

I think mello would keep the choppy hairstyle but use the layering of the explosion, kinda mirroring Lidner a little. Plus makeup. Plus his eye shape is kind of like Ls, with darker colours. Should've been brown but ah well. He's also missing an eye!!
Nears design is just his C-Kira design, except with heterochromia because I like the idea of him having both L and Lights eye colours to mirror how he sees the world. And freckles. Mello likes kissing them. :)

something something light writing multiple possible spellings of his second victim’s name in the death note because he only heard it being spoken and doesn’t know what characters it is written with and not getting it right within his first four tries this time rendering the death note useless and thinking the first heart attack was just a freaky coincidence
i just remembered that before i watched death note for the first time, i was under the impression that l and light were the same character. i thought light turned into l when he used the death note and was then called dark yagami.
Little Things About Light Yagami That I Love
He almost always leans on his hand while sitting.
He isn’t quite fond of guns.
This is anime-only, but he likes walking around with his eyes closed.
Despite how the fandom seems to believe he’s ambidextrous, I think he’s right-handed. He wears his watch on his left arm and uses his right hand to write when he has both of his hands available. Him being able to use his other hand when necessary does not make him ambidextrous.
He’s rather quiet. He doesn’t engage in conversation a lot.
He likes video games.
His room is usually dim-lit.
He uses the subway to go to To-Oh.
He has his own stupid little tv in his room.
L calls Light “homocidal” and Light’s like “it’s spelled homicidal” and L just stares.

I drew it with a finger on my old iPad mini with partially broken touchpad in 2022. It took me three months. I couldn’t update it so I had to use an old app that allowed only like five brushes and three layers and had no shaky lines correction. For some reason I feel awkward sharing it to be honest but I’ve put a lot of effort into it, maybe exactly because I’ve put so much effort, and so I’m scared of the reaction
