AU in which the Monkey D. family has three brain cells between them when it gets to recognizing people and Dragon got all of them in the divorce.
After the battle, Luffy and Zoro spent time together swinging on the vines. The perfect date for them!🥰💗
I love Skypiea arc so much! There are so many moments of the strawhats being silly and having fun✨
I gotta say I'm obsessed with what Luffy does to the typical "sunshine" character trope, in that he's an exception to the usual portrayal but perhaps the most true to it of anyone. He's not "sunshine" as in pure niceness and sweetness and innocence. He's sunshine as in The Sun.
He's joy and light and warmth, illuminating all the beauty of the world, but he's also powerful enough to kill and blind and burn. He's an everyday annoyance. He's the strongest force of nature that exists. His happiness shines bright for miles. So does his rage. You could look at him wrong and be screwed up for life. You never want to live without him.
I can't get over this.
Zoro and Luffy are definitely "someone will die" "of FUN" but when Luffy says "of fun" he doesn't mean a peaceful solution he means this

I'm scrolling through Marineford again to gather references and this is the first time I'm actually noticing this dialogue:
(Chapter 568)
"Do you have grandkids, are they happy?"
And Garp says "His name is Luffy, I think?"
Is this just a vague translation or a misplaced punctuation mark? Because like this it makes it sounds like Garp knows about his grandchild, but he is not sure what his name is and is not the one raising him.
He can't answer if Luffy is happy, but he is "being raised well." Whatever that might mean in Garp's books. Luffy must still be very young here considering Ace is maybe... 5ish? This is probably within this period of life Luffy wouldn't remember. A period of time where Dragon (with or without Luffy's other parent) might have been taking care of him until something happened that made Dragon give Luffy up?
