The real reason why Law’s feeling anxious when he knew Jinbei’s joining The Strawhats lol (though really, it’s most likely because he’s wary of new powerful addition to his rival’s crew, that’s all).
This could explain why he tried so hard to make himself not feeling overly friendly to Strawhat Crew (it’s a lost cause, Law, just let it go).

headcanon that zoro knows all the sea shanties because during his time as a bounty hunter he would sit in bars and listen to his targets sing and get drunk, and luffy is the only one who knows because while they were a crew of two, luffy would sing whatever he remembered and zoro would laugh and say "that's not how it goes" and now luffy is the only one he's willing to sing for/with when brook comes and sings, sometimes luffy will sit next to zoro because zoro will sing with brook under his breath
also, i think that after the timeskip when zoro smiles less and fights more he also stopped singing, and luffy does what he can to get him to sing again
whether zoro is a good singer or not is up to you

i really appreciate they took this scene from dressrosa of zoro trying to say they could cut a way inside the arena "quietly", and kin'emon disagreeing
and made a similar wano anime-only scene (as far as i can tell this wasn't in the manga where the rest of the ep takes place), with luffy beside zoro, who immediately goes along with whatever zoro thinks could work for their sneak mission-
"quietly, though." - love that luffy reminds him the quiet part but doesn't discourage him from that at all. (*cough cough, the trust in zoro's abilities.. )
(it was a good plan and not their fault the enemies were already just behind that particular wall)
-and then take it positively, as more sword fight/training haki exercises for them lol i love their shenanigans sm

Personally? I refuse to get over the fact that Monkey D. Luffy, one of the most fearless, reckless, tough, impulsive, fight-happy, determined, rough, hopeful characters I have ever seen in fiction, does not have a fight reflex when he is legitimately afraid.
He has a freeze reflex.
You know how few protagonists have a freeze reflex?
You know how many One Piece characters have a fight reflex? It's probably most of them (Ace, Zoro, and Kid are pretty notable examples). And after that, flight is probably next (Usopp, Nami, etc).
But Luffy has a freeze reflex. Consistently. Sure, he's learned to push through it, to snap out of it, but when he's really truly scared? It's like he's seven and helpless all over again, and he can't move. Just for a second.

started reading one piece (well rereading, but its been years), and im really enjoying it :D heres the gang up to alabaster + some side characters. its meant to look like a mha colour spread, not sure if it achieved the look in the end :[

more of my “mafia” au ig with:
- luffy & zoro being childhood friends before the creation of the strawhats family
- zoro being more of a babysitter than an actual bodyguard
- luffy sitting on zoro’s shoulder because he likes being tall
- featuring luffy beating the crap outta other gangs and accidentally gaining territory and followers
- people always underestimating luffy because hes thin and short until they literally get their asses handed to them
- gangs thinking roronoa “demon hunter” zoro is the leader and not the happy go lucky strawhat-wearing kid beside him
- luffy accidentally creating a grand network of connections between various gangs, the law enforcement, and even a terrorist group just from being a cool dude
- zoro usually only fighting with one sword because luffy doesnt want to get off his shoulder (often cause luffys in the middle of eating something). this habit resulted in zoro becoming ambidextrous
- luffy using brass knuckles
- luffy & zoro rooftop parkouring (both have fallen into dumpsters multiple times)
- both didnt know how to do basic first aid before luffy snatched up Chopper—a med student—so they have a bunch of stolen bandaids (luffy likes the ones with sparkles)
