A bunch of pony pictures that I never posted. (I still like ponies, but I also find myself becoming somewhat less invested in them, plus I find myself becoming super invested into object shows again/wanting to do a wider variety of art, so you might not see as much pony stuff from me.)
NATG XIV - Day 28
Prompt: Draw a pony rising to the occasion / Draw a pony taking the bull by the horns.
"When there's a mystery that needs solving, there's a detective you should be calling!" Decided to do a neon-style design for this one.
NATG XIV - Day 27
Prompt: Draw a pony feeling drained / Draw a pony in need of a recharge.
Life is hard when you're stuck with a "mother" like Opaline. Good thing she met the Mane Five...
(Decided to try drawing without a reference image for once. This one would take place before "Missing the Mark" or Make Your Mark chapter 4 as a whole.)
NATG XIV - Day 25
Prompt: Draw a pony choosing the lesser of two evils / Draw a pony rotten to the core.
Featuring Twitch the rabbit from G5.
Silly rabbit! Trix are for kids! (Try our new My Little Pony Trix - with magical marshmallows that turn milk blue!)
NATG XIV - Day 22
Prompt: Draw a pony finding the light at the end of the tunnel / Draw a pony finding a glimmer of hope.
Continued from the day 17 piece. Izzy encounters her friend Sunny, and with it, some color!
Day 17 piece:
NATG XIV - Day 21
Prompt: Draw a pony following their dreams / Draw a pony feeling defeated.
Based on a screen from Kirby 64.
"Where's Pipp and Misty?" It may have something to do with whatever led to this...
Original:
NATG XIV - Day 18
Prompt: Draw a pony taking the heat / Draw a pony chilling out.
Decided to draw Comet, who would probably take some time to get used to the heat due to having lived in a snowy place his whole life.
NATG XIV - Day 17
Prompt: Draw a pony scared out of their wits / Draw a pony scared stiff.
Izzy finds herself alone in a white void. None of her friends are there, or even her shadow... (I think Izzy would have a fear of being alone/abandoned, since she wouldn't want to be lonely again.)
NATG XIV - Day 16
Prompt: Draw a pony as another species / Draw a pony getting a new lease on life.
Hitch as a draconequus; I just thought it would be fun to see a more "orderly" character as one. Originally thought of him having more seaside animal parts, since he's the sheriff of a seaside town.
NATG XIV - Day 14
Prompt: Draw a pony falling from grace / Draw a pony past their prime.
Based on the movie, in which the royal family is exposed and Pipp's career (temporarily, of course) comes crashing down.
NATG XIV - Day 13
Prompt: Draw a pony experiencing their 15 minutes of fame / Draw a pony in the spotlight.
Based on a piece I did for last year's NATG, where a changeling disguised as Fluttershy becomes really popular.
NATG XIV - Day 12
Prompt: Draw a pony exploring a place lost to legend / Draw a pony off the beaten path.
A weird interpretation of Skyros, based on the tapestry from "The Lone Alicorn". Sunny is talking to one of the alicorns in said tapestry, Izzy and Misty are just chilling in the rainbow water, Hitch is watching Sparky, and Pipp and Zipp are just there. (Partly inspired by the celebration pictures from Kirby Star Allies; Sunny is smaller because this was intended to have a chibi-ish style, but that didn't really pan out. This took me hours to make... "Alternate versions" under the cut.)
Background:
Izzy and Misty:
Hitch and Sparky:
Sunny and her friend:
Pipp and Zipp:
NATG XIV - Day 10
Prompt: Draw a pony feeling out of place / Draw a pony feeling right at home.
Semi-continuation of my Day 5 piece; this time, Sunny's mom returns home to find that the exterior of her old home has changed significantly. And that's just the beginning of the story...
(Most of my time with this piece was spent on the Brighthouse, as you might expect. I might continue this story if another prompt provides for it.)
Day 5 piece:
NATG XIV - Day 9
Prompt: Draw a pony working for peanuts / Draw a pony working a crummy job.
Sprout finds himself becoming the mascot for a cheesy space-themed milkshake place while a pair of children gaze (gawk?) at him. How humiliating.
(The kids are OCs of mine; Sugar Cookie is the pegasus and Chamomile is the unicorn.)
NATG XIV - Day 6
Prompt: Draw a pony learning the ropes / Draw a pony offering a pearl of wisdom.
"But I can drive my crafting scooter just fine! What's wrong with a bus?" - Izzy
(A rather loose interpretation of the second prompt, since I had trouble coming up with good ideas for either one. The only other pony I could think of who would write this would be Sprout's mom, Phyllis (pre-magic, of course.))
NATG XIV - Day 5
Prompt: Draw a pony shrouded in mystery / Draw a pony with friends in high places.
Sunny and Zipp discover a beautiful, mysterious garden... and a familiar looking pony. Is it really her? Or is it just a ghost? An illusion? You decide.
NATG XIV - Day 3
Prompt: Draw a pony throwing caution to the wind / Draw a pony tiptoeing around danger.
Sunny leaps across a dangerous spike pit in a crystal cavern. Sure, she could just use her alicorn powers, but where's the fun in that? (The title is a reference to an old, unofficial name for the "Crystal Dungeons" track from Kirby's Return to Dream Land.)
NATG XIV - Day 2
Prompt: Draw a pony taking its first steps / Draw a pony coming to life!
Based on an old idea I had for a "Micro-Series" styled comic:
"When one of Izzy Moonbow's creations mysteriously comes to life, what's a unicorn to do?"
(Butterscotch is saying, "Hello, Izzy!" I forgot to add the dialogue.)
Here we have Sunny's mom (or Velvet, as I'm calling her) as an alicorn, sleeping peacefully in a mysterious bedroom, dreaming of the daughter she left all those years ago.
Experimented with a more loose/"messy" coloring style; the overall style was semi-inspired by Kirby's Dream Land 3 (crayon/pastel aesthetic).
Submission for Equestria Daily's Fluttershy Day. Based on the seapony designs from My Little Pony: Set Your Sail, the G5 comic miniseries. Each one seems to be based partially on some sort of sea creature; initially my idea was an angelfish or a sea angel, until I remembered that butterflyfish existed. (The wings were added after I finished everything else on her.) Angel is a sea angel, but he's not too thrilled about it! (and he's pink.) (It was also going to have a proper undersea background, but then I got lazy.)
Turned a few background pony concepts from the G5 movie into actual characters! Clockwise from top left: Gloomshade, Swiss Roll, and Nightshade (not related to Gloom). Reference: https://derpibooru.org/images/2731703?q=concept+art%2C+g5
Another attempt at a "lineless" drawing, featuring Jade from G5.
Yes, catnip works on leopards, too. Experimented with a more "lineless" style. (as well as an environment, and combining Sunny's mane stripes with her old braid)
An alicorn OC I made; her design reminds me a little of Blue Diamond and S1 Luna. She is generally serious, straight-laced, and a little tired; getting her to smile is a challenge.
A changeling queen OC, with rather wonky proportions. (I don't really have a name for her, but her personality is that she's rather vain and somewhat apathetic when it comes to actually ruling. She spends most of her time gazing into a magic mirror.)
Last-minute submission for Equestria Daily's Student Six Day. Did a bit of cross-generation stuff for this one.
Here's Violette Rainbow. Can't wait to hear her voice! (and/or potentially see the zebras Skye and Mariama?) (also her cutie mark is slightly off)
Here's an attempt at a comic. Based on this silly product I stumbled upon while looking for ideas: https://collection.museumoffailure.com/heinz-purple-ketchup/ (Specifically, while looking at pictures of the Hawaii Chair, some cheesy infomercial product I saw in a YouTube video.)
Various random MLP drawings, each done with a different brush in MediBang. Ember (G5 style!): Sumi (and yes the "cutie mark" blends in with the front leg scales.) Gummy: Alcohol Marker Pinkie Pie: Airbrush Zipp (as one of those little nerds): G Pen Izzy (as a Fraggle!): Rough Watercolor
One last round of drawings before the year closes (still 2023 where I live). Happy (early) new year!
First drawing: random set of doodles. Purple mouse critter is a wishing nymph, like Milkyway from the latest arc of the G5 comics.
Second drawing: various G2 characters in a UPA-ish style. (left-right, top-bottom: Clever Clover, Fire and Flame, Giggles and Wiggles, Bright Bramley) (completed earlier this month)
Third drawing: just a friendly assortment of characters.
