(NOT MTS CONTENT) Alright, as a Miraculous fan (with a particularly vested interest in Chat Noir) I’m making my thoughts on the new Chat Noir look clear.

I’m not super upset that he doesn’t have a new outfit, since, let’s be honest, Ladybug and Carapace needed it WAY more than he did.

I’m also not that concerned about his new proportions. Yeah, they’re a little funny looking, it that might just be the camera angle. Either way, he’s getting older so it makes sense that his facial structure is changing (plus I give my own CN a slightly more angular face to indicate that he’s a sweet kid, sure, but there’s a lot more to him than just “good perfect bean”.

So then, what’s got me emotionally invested enough to make a Tumblr post? (By now it’s probably pretty obvious…)

The hair.

HERE’S THE THING THOUGH- it’s not that I think the hairstyle is bad or ugly. It’s very stylish, and the smooth swishy look would be more than welcomed on a different character. But that’s the problem, this is the wild and chaotic Chat Noir, the catboy of destruction who tells terrible puns. His hair should not be that neat, and it should not be that perfect (yeah it’s a little messy, but only enough to have that “effortless, natural look” you’d see in a shampoo ad)

Maybe I’m overreacting; after all, it’s just a hairstyle, and I’m treating it like it’s the end all be all for his character in Season Six. However… it’s not just the hair. While watching Season Five, I noticed that Chat Noir doesn’t really joke around as much as he did in previous seasons (especially in the second half of S5), and isn’t really allowed to get mad or be rebellious outside of when his role as the love interest needs him to (trying to cataclysm Dark Owl because of the Married LadyNoir vision, trying to cataclysm Dark Cupid because he’s being a protective boyfriend to Marinette, telling off Nighttormentor because Gabriel forced him to go to London, sure, but the show makes it clear that the REAL problem is him trying to keep Adrien and Marinette apart). Other than that, he’s the perfect well-behaved supportive partner.

In general, it feels like Chat Noir and Adrien are becoming more similar personalities, which is good: I think a lot of us have anticipated this happening for his character arc… but the problem is, Chat Noir is becoming more like Adrien rather than Adrien becoming Chat Noir, because isn’t his arc supposed to be breaking free of the perfect controlled persona his father has forced him into, learning to express himself and become his own person? (There’s also the fact that I think he’s a little more interesting to watch as Chat Noir or the more expressive early seasons Adrien, but his development is the more important issue here.)

This kinda thing has me worried that everyone who believes that the finale was bad on purpose (the secret dystopia route) and that the writer’s genuinely do want us to believe that Gabriel’s actions have been valid and ethical (THEY ARE NOT: BRO IS A TERRORIST 💀.) Either that, or they just want us to watch the cute shipping scenes and not really care about Adrien’s character outside of that. Kinda a bleak view, I know, but that’s how things have been looking lately. (Maybe they’re making him look neater as a part of the dystopia route though? I guess we’ll see but it seems unlikely…)

(I probably should reemphasize that I’m not actually getting this “doom and gloom conspiracy board” over JUST a haircut. It’s more like I saw a bunch of other (personal) warning signs over the last two seasons, and this is just one other thing making me more worried.)

I know this isn’t my usual stuff but I felt like I needed to air my grievances (especially since while I have seen other people not like the new hair, it doesn’t seem to be for the same reasons as me, seeing as I don’t even dislike the hairstyle itself; just the fact that Chat Noir’s the one who has it). Hopefully this was at least interesting or even validating, but if not… Well, I’ll get back to my normal content after this anyway.

I wasn't even aware they were trying to make it seem like Marinette struggles to make friends.

Like, she's so popular and loved that struggling to make friends is the one problem Marinette doesn't have.

Sure, they tell us she had this problem in "Origins" but it's not like they actually show Marinette struggling to make friends. People just love Marinette instantly.

She's a bit quirky, and nerdy, and prone to misunderstandings, but none of those have made it hard for Marinette to make friends.

So saying she struggles with that is just disingenuous.

As someone who ACTUALLY struggled to make friends in HS its insulting when they say Marinette does so.

People who "struggle to make friends" dont get elected class president

People who "struggle to make friends" dont have pajama parties with their girlfriends ocasionally

People who "struggle to make friends" arent friends with famous comedians and international rockstars

People who "struggle to make friends" dont date supermodels. Or at all.

Being "quirky" or "nerdy" or "prone to misunderstandings " is not the same thing of being a weird outcast, and for sure doesnt make you unpopular.

Do you really think all of ML's problems would be fixed if Adrien never existed?

Good heavens, no.

Adrien isn't the problem. He's just a symptom of a much larger issue. That issue being laziness and poor writing that comes in the form of "tell, don't show", plot threads that go nowhere, and lack of character development or plot progression that leads to a setup of "Status Quo Is God". Removing Adrien wouldn't fix all of that. Heck, it wouldn't fix any of that.

I can't fault the writers for replacing Felix with Adrien. Even if I and others could write out a plot with Felix, that's not to say everyone could or that the writers could. It could very well be that Felix as he was in the PV simply didn't work for the setup they had in mind.

...the issue here is that the setup they had in mind seems to require stagnancy. Where Hawk Moth attacks without winning and the heroes fight off the akumas without really trying to track him as the source and the two leads chase each other around in circles without anyone making any headway in either of these battles. Marinette wants to date Adrien. Chat wants to date Ladybug. It's why all her plans to ask him out fail while his attempts to express his feelings aren't taken seriously. And there is no forward movement, whether in their arc or in the fight against Hawk Moth. There wasn't even build or lead up to the two falling in love. They just started out episode one with crushes on each other and remained having crushes on each other until arguably season 5.

But no good story is stagnant. In this setup, characters need to do things and there needs to be a feeling of forward momentum.

Break it down this way: What is Adrien's problem? What is his goal? What is the obstacle to his goal?

Yes, we could say Adrien's dad being a supervillain and a neglectful jerk is Adrien's main problem, but it's not the problem Adrien is actually focused on in the show. Instead, if we could say Adrien has a problem, it would be that he wants to date Ladybug. And his goal is to date Ladybug. And the source of the problem and obstacle to his goal is...Ladybug.

So his problem, his goal, and the obstacle are all the same thing. This ultimately seems to make his problems Ladybug’s fault then because the problem would be solved if she gives in to his wants rather than by any real effort on his part.

Adrien as he is in the show doesn't do anything. And he doesn't need to do anything because he is at his base a character that things are done for. He doesn't have a goal or direction or drive. He just comes out to deal with akumas as needed, flirt with Ladybug when he can, and then be sad because his life is so hard when he doesn't get what he wants. We don't see him doing anything else. We don't see him making friends. We don't see him engaging in school. We don't even really see how he interacts with the classmates he only recently met. Things happen around him, but he is not a driving force in anything in the show.

But Felix in the PV is a very driving character. He had a problem: he's cursed. What does he need to break the curse? A kiss from Ladybug. What are the obstacles to his goal: Ladybug refusing to kiss him and Hawk Moth trying to kill her. How does he get that kiss? By flirting with her and trying to earn her affections while protecting her and making sure she doesn't DIE against an akuma before he gets that special curse-breaking kiss.

It's the start of Felix's journey. His goal and the various obstacles to that goal that make his story interesting and his growth possible. As such, I see him as a character who would progress in his attempts to obtain his goal as well as one who would progress the storyline...which is also accurate of 3D Felix since that's kind of what he's done more in his relatively few appearances than the series has in 5 seasons.

Adrien didn't have to have Felix's personality. He didn't have to have the same goals or level of drive. But he could still have had things where he grows and helps to push the plot forward.

Adrien...

...just started school. He has no friends, knows no one, and is trying to learn the ins and outs of public education. How is he doing in the different setting with teachers instead of tutors? How is he trying to get along with his classmates? Does he experience bullying? Does anyone NOT like him? What is he going through as a new student who had been homeschooled all his life?

...is friends with Chloe. What's it like learning his "only friend" is a bully? How do people respond to this? Does anyone (besides Marinette) fear him or avoid him because if he's friends with Chloe, he must be just like her?

...is a superhero. He could have been spending time learning the history of the ring and trying to develop his powers. Trying to get stronger? Trying to get to know Plagg? What is he experiencing as a highly known model who is also a superhero and having to juggle those dual identities?

...has a dead mom who died of a "mysterious illness". Given that this loss supposedly occurred about a year prior, he could still be mourning her. Maybe trying to learn what happened to her.

...has a neglectful father. How is he trying to interact with his dad? How does he feel about his dad not being around? What is he doing to try to resolve this?

...has a supervillain father. Like, I cannot stress this enough! His dad is a SUPERVILLAIN! His dad is THE SUPERVILLAIN THEY ARE FIGHTING! People were predicting him finding out and joining Gabriel to try and revive his mom! People were living for the eventual heartbreak of when Adrien finds out the truth! Entire AUs, fan arts, and fanfics were born of this very idea! Going into the drama and struggle Adrien would be experiencing being caught between the "right thing" and the girl he loves and his duty vs his father and his mother and his family. HOW CAN THEY JUST IGNORE THIS?!

But we don't get any of that. Instead, we get Adrien...

...just acclimated with no issues in school and automatically friends with everyone. Good for him, I guess. Wish it was that easy for the rest of us.

...doing little besides occasional comments to Chloe as she is completely horrible for five seasons including Chloe stealing from classmates, getting the entire school punished for something she did, stealing a Miraculous, trying to crash a train, and betraying the city to Hawk Moth. But it takes him learning about something she did to Marinette a year ago for him to finally decide enough is enough and drop her as a friend.

...only goes out to deal with akumas as they come but does nothing to try and figure out his powers and history, get stronger, or try to track Hawk Moth.

...just moves on from dead mom. No relevance here aside from wanting to see a movie she was in or making a passing comment about how she got sick. No attempt to find out what happened to her. No questioning what she may have wanted for him.

...is just sad about his neglectful father neglecting him but seems to get over it rather quickly.

...never learns his father is a supervillain. Okay, I take it back. He learns twice and those timelines are erased with no real repercussions other than trauma for Marinette, so it really doesn't feel like they count. The pieces are all there, though! He knows his dad has the grimoire but never questions him about it! Never asks his dad what the deal was with Tibet! No question about how mom died or what is going on with Nathalie or what he's doing with a hidden mechanism in mom's portrait.

Adrien has potential. He has plot threads and aspects that could be used and goals he could have. But the writing does nothing with him, so while he has a number of things he COULD do to move forward and progress as a character or for the plot, nothing comes of it.

And that all boils down to a problem with the writing.

Adrien was chosen over Felix as an "easier" option to keep the story at a standstill so they could drag it out for as long as needed. That doesn't mean it should have been. There were so many paths that could have been taken, but Adrien was given the personality of a wet noodle, so he acts on none of them because that was what the writers wanted out of his character.

OMG, I didn't expect that to be this twisted.

It's was supposed to be a season full of answers.

They did(well......kinda did). It's still full of potholes that are still left unanswered.

Anyway, back to the finale.

Now, where do I start with?

Lila(Cerise) is the new holder of the butterfly Miraculous. I'm looking forward to it since she has the skills.

Emilie is resurrected.

Gabriel sacrifices himself to resurrect Emilie. Good riddance.

Adrienette got their kiss. I'm happy for them.

Cool suit, Marinette. You're still slaying with that merge.

Avengers,assemble. Fei and the crews from the NY special are returned.

And everyone in Paris is living happy, safe, and sound. For now, until Lila a.k.a Cerise makes her next move and wreak havoc in the city, but now with the butterfly Miraculous in her possession.

I know there's more, but a lot has happened in this finale, so I will leave it(for now)to you.

In conclusion, this takes a lot to process, and the finale signals the end of the arc and the beginning of the new chapter(if your thought process doesn't jammed).

Now......you must be wondering,'Wait,what? Why Paris? The show is based in Paris, so why do they want to make an installment of Miraculous World, this time, it's in the town that the show is based on and not in another country just like New York and Shanghai?'

Well, my friend, this is different than your usual Miraculous Ladybug.

This is set in an alternate universe in Paris where the villains are goodies and the heroes are the baddies.

And you know what? I'm really looking forward to it. I'm hooked on this and......I love it.

Maybe it will be released at the end of 2023 or 2024, considering that it is still in progress.

But yeah,it was crazy....and I'm here for it.

Before I comment on this matter, I have something to say about Andre.

Man, he was a creepy and literal asshole.

I mean, he was too focused on the ships like he knew about what matchmaking was like. I mean, the ice cream looks really good, and I know that sometimes the place that sells ice cream is a really good place for dating, BUT, operating without a permit?

Uh oh, it looks like he's in trouble!

Look, guys, I know where he comes from(remember Wishmaker), and actually, that's good for him, but the problem is that he's operating without a permit (and might involve hygiene problem) and too invested in teenager's life choices. And yeah, he's always blaming Marinette before being a akuma.

Anyway, back to today's topic, so,what's my opinion about this closure?

I agree with Chloé's action(just this one) 100%, will vote for her if this was included in her manifesto or mandates or whatever because he shouldn't be this bad and he just prove to be really bad everytime.

Maybe(I think), it might be a great metaphor for Thomas Astruc. I might be wrong tho, so don't take it from me.

Chloe is more of a Le Pen type because they have in common here.

Is it justified, or is it going too far?

I think that this is going too far because Chloe doesn't deserve to be treated harshly by living with.........her mom and being abused for life.

Look, I know that what Chloe did is mean, cruel, and even dangerous at some level.

I acknowledge that some people will not gonna change.

I agree that Chloe should be called out for her behaviors.

BUT, should she deserve to be punished by being abused by her mom? Should she deserve this as her karma?

No, because this is bad for her overall, with the major issues being the mental health, and this'll make her life worse. Plus, she's a TEENAGER! She's has plenty of time to change and make her like this might lead her to depression.

And maybe....,this is kinda hypocritical because remember what Mylene said in Derision?

About that dialogue, I think that really depends on how you grew up in the environments where your parents behave toward you.

I blame mostly on the parents because they are not good parent to Chloe, so that's why Chloe is being like that.

And yes, I also blame Thomas because, bruh, please, enough with your hatred for Chloe. Enough is enough, please, we're sick and tired of you making Chloe your punching bag over and over again. Don't you think that we have enough of Chloe bashing episodes? Well, time for Twitter mass blocking all over again(and make a post self-victimizing yourself).

And before you arguing me not agreeing that Chloe should deserve to be like this, I have a question to ask.

What if we're just like Chloe, being neglected by your own mother and your father don't teach you to be a good person?

Regarding the Magical Charm,........why Ladybug didn't investigate or even know that this thing are now useless,yet still give it to the akumatized person post-Dearest Family(and maybe Penalteam)?

She should know that since Penalteam(or even Dearest Family) to figure it out why it doesn't worked anymore and investigate the latter,yet we didn't see it and Ladybug still giving the Magical Charm all the way through post-S4 and yes,she still does it in S5 as well,she still does it to this day.

It's makes me thinking about why she still doing it even though we know that it's useless now. Idk about that but......yeah,there's that.

In my last post about Felix,I literally angry on his action in Strike Back.

But now,when I think again(& because Emotion is already aired),I might a little bit too harsh on Felix.

So.....,here's my opinion on Felix(Flairmidable/Argos)so far.

I still hate him. I still hate him for his action in Felix & Strike Back but in Emotion,my hate on him has become more tolerable.......a bit.

Why do I saying that?

Because his motives/intentions was good. If you watch the episode,yk what I'm talking about. But,there is a caveat,his action on how to do it was more on the villainous side. Ik that he just want to freed himself as well as Adrien & Kagami(if you're totally believing with the sentimonster theory) but by wiping out the people with just a snap of fingers and openly saying to Ladybug that he want the Miraculous just to make his wish....is not a good move for a good intention.(Plus,he's very sus)

But I'll give credit where it's due because he still love his mom and he acknowledged that not all of them are monsters(as what Amelie said earlier). Plus,his motives are more of heroic side. So,I will give it the benefit of the doubt even though it's still unclear which side he should be place. Also,he acknowledged that he shouldn't be carried away with his emotion just to make his wish a reality(which led to the saddest scene in the episode).

So,overall,I will say that,in my opinion,he might be a bad guy(or 'boy' in this context) but a bad guy that you can sympathize for and can related to even though the actions/moves were wrong in any context whatsoever. So,that's why I'm legit to looking forward for his next moves.

(On the unrelated side,Argos is fucking slay. I'm not joking,I love Argos's outfit and he literally slay it. He's a legit finesse character,swear to God.)

Why I'm saying that? Because they leak it just to get attentions & get more views. That's what they are doing rn. If this wasn't for them,Gloob will not gonna realesed these episodes. Sure,I'm also disappointed with Gloob, releasing the episodes out of order but....you have to remember that the biggest problem that we have rn is the leaks itself. That shoudn't happened if Zag really focused on this issue and care about the fans like you,me & people around the world.

And speaking of Zag,I know he's a busy man but at least,please tell him to acknowledge that this is a big issue that needs to be taken care of. If it's out of control(like rn),people will lose interest to watch the season(hell,even the series).

I think that's why Gloob released these episodes this Monday because if they don't released it rn,it gonna get worse. So,that's why.

I didn't watch the episode but I know what happened. This episode is basically a Marichat episode(but different than any Marichat episode in the entire series so far),I know but what intrigues me and I cannot stress it enough is that......WHY?! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME?!

I'm not joking when I say that when I saw this picture for the first time,I was exicted to see Marinette finally get akumatized(and able to transformed into a akuma) but then,when I saw the scene(in picture form),

I..WAS..ANGRY.

I..WAS...HEARTBROKEN.

And literally almost crying when I found that this scene is almost the same vibe just like from Ladybug(that same episode from S3).

I...I can't even explained that why they still teasing us with Marinette get akumatized but in the end,she wasn't and she weren't going too? Just....WHY?

I thought that my wishes has come tru but it wasn't....for now.

I'm still....STILL hope that my wishes for this season is to watch Marinette got akumatized(but no teasing anymore)and able to turn into a akuma come tru.

I know that Chat Noir save her and both kissing each other and for everyone,it's a relief...and romantic at the same time(I forgot to tell this but because of this scene above me,I will not gonna watch the episode or at least,this scene)but I wish and hope that this season,Akumanette(Akuma Marinette) will become canon. When they're with their Guardian they're fed properly and Marinette fed the kwamis their favorite food and pastries and baked goods, and with that disgusting bastard, he just gives them pet food.
