Spoilers incoming for FHJY post episode 15 as well as ramblings that attempt to express a coherent theory:

This post is a great point, throwing this theory into the ring, it was Arianwen Abernant.

She 100% got her magic back because it was taken away at the end of Sophmore Year by Cassandra who is now dead. And we know she can teleport and probably has mage hand too. So the second she regained her powers she could teleport right out of that nightmare forest.

What if she’s also been bankrolling the Rat Grinders and or the church of Galicaea (with the money that should have gone to Adaine and Alewyn) and the dragon thing is really a misdirect.

Galicaea is worshipped by a lot of high elves so funding the church would be a way to get back in good graces with Fallinel, and the popularity of Galicaea helps overall in the goal to keep Cassandra from returning.

She and Jace Stardiamond, and potentially Porter (he could be a Paladin of Ankarna who is a giant god, he did make sure Fig didn’t make that oath to Cassandra and his whole thing is rage) are allies and with Kalina were the memebers of the spy’s tongue curse.

“Ragh Barkrock” was Kalina’s hint to that.

Arianwen’s goal for the nightmare king was to restore her family name, and power and riches, and this is a way to do that. She’d be fully on board with taking out Yolanda and making sure Kristen failed and kept Cassandra dead so she can have her powers, and she’s not above manipulating children to get that. She doesn’t have Alewyn to do her dirty work, but Kipperlilly will do, and she even has a hatred of the Bad Kids already.

All this to say, Oisin would never, it has to be Arianwen Abernant.

Can you believe this was the whole episode and absolutely nothing horrifying and terrible happened after this.

Really not sure what I was expecting from Kristen “chaos isn’t cute anymore” Applebees but it definitely wasn’t “Straight British clone says Blimey before being blown up by god and also she was pregnant (with Fabian’s kid)”

Straight British Kristen Applebees is my new favorite character. I am in love with her. Unfortunately for me, she is straight.

I was watching the corn cuties fight earlier today and going from that where they can’t get on tables, have 16 health, and like a plus 6 to hit, to now where Fabian does over 100 damage in one turn was crazy.

Even the players themselves. Ally was asking which die they should roll to now knowing which spells to cast based on range and concentration. Knowing they should cast death ward on the proctor. Absolutely insane growth

I can’t stop thinking about Ally saying they made a choice that made Brennan want to quit. What is it? When is it coming? I’m on the edge of my seat

Can’t wait for the interactions with that Helio cleric teacher next episode. Kristen explaining that Sol officiated a gay wedding, explaining that her god is queer. The passive aggressiveness radiating off both of them. Hopefully we’ll get another “permanent disadvantage on insight checks” moment.

In a more real sense, if Kristen goes down (3 death save fails, not just unconscious), does Cassandra die? Bobby Dawn is supposed to bring them back up but it would be pretty easy for him to say he’s not able to do it. Even if he does bring her back, she was dead for a time and Cassandra had no followers left in the material plane. Fig and Fabian probably both have revivify though

Thinking about how the moon just reflects the sun’s light. Can Galicaea ever truly be separate from Sol? Are they doomed to always be reflections of one another?

I feel like a series of very funny bits is a good way to win a high school student government position. Kristen is campaigning and it’s probably at least decently effective, especially next to Four Dogs who no one likes

Buddy Dawn makes me the most angry of all the ratgrinders. That passive aggressive derision. Thinking he’s better than everyone else. The perfect parallel of how that was Kristen in freshman year. It’s brutal and that interaction was so tough to watch. I need Kristen to take his worldview apart so badly

I love how Kipperlilly Copperkettle was so clearly meant to be a foil for Riz but instead Kristen decides to run for president. Not the guy who needed more extracurriculars, but the person who really needs to focus on a completely different thing or a god will die and she will fail school. Then Adaine decides she hates Kipperlilly and starts calling her anything besides her actual name. Riz doesn’t seem more specifically bothered by her than the other ratgrinders. Ally has gone so unhinged this season it is messing with Brennans narrative plans

Every episode I think “surely, things will get better. Surely, they—at the very least—cannot get worse.” Every episode I am somehow proven incorrect

I love Brennan’s “yes and-ing” this episode.

Yeah sure, fill a pool with sauce and jump into it from a motorcycle. You want a special ramp to do it from?

You wanna give a speech to the steelworkers? Sure! Just go ahead and attack the receptionist.

I think I said “what the fuck is happening?” no less than 20 times.

I think the choice that Ally made that made Brennan want to quit is happening next episode and I’m so scared. Just tell people about your god! Stop diving into swimming pools full of tartar sauce! I do understand why Kristen isn’t doing it though. She has this big mental block, probably a combination of trauma and ADHD that won’t let her do what she’s supposed to. To us, the audience it seems simple what she’s supposed to do, but the other bad kids don’t ever berate her for not doing it. They understand that it wouldn’t help and would just make her feel worse. As someone who often struggles with executive functioning, I love this.

Trying to be less chaotic: “that’s what you think” and pirouettes away.

Really goes to show that trying is very much not the same thing as doing
