Happy Birthday Rifty! 🦋
On this day, 1 year ago, a glimmering star was born during a winter breeze, and now it’s time to celebrate!
Starting to get more comfortable with adding personal little details to my AU’s character designs now. Here’s what 🦋!Kirby looks like during the winter! I learned what winter coats were somewhat recently and now I really wanna start implementing that into my work. Something else I also decided recently was to give Kirby a little cottontail! I might give one to Rifty too, maybe it’s something astral starborns grow only during the winter season sometimes?
🦋 Kirby OC Reference Sheets/Bios
I’ve been busy with school for a little but, but now I’m ready to jump back into the fray and start sharing my OC concept with all of you finally! It’s time to get to know our beloved cast!
Rifty: A kind-hearted, benevolent astral starborn like Kirby. However, unlike Kirby, who spreads unconditional love to everyone no matter what, Rifty is a lot more considerate of other people’s emotions. He wants to get to know people instead of just being a friend. This also causes Rifty to be quite observant. He takes note of the environment around them and tries their best to accommodate that. Quantum Knight (Sir Artemis): One of the noblest warriors in the known multiverses, Quantum Knight is to Rifty like Meta Knight is to Kirby. Artemis is a mentor figure, someone for Rifty to lean on in their time of need, someone who is willing to protect his friend at all costs and guide them in their journey. Underneath their confident and serious attitude , Sir Artemis is a very loving and compassionate puffball who drives themselves to give Rifty the happiest life he can in Pop Star. He’s perhaps one of the biggest softies you could ever meet once you get to know them! (Additional Lore/Info: Introductory Post)
Lady Lunala: A kind, yet calculated astral sword trainer and stargazer. Lunala is a mother figure to Rifty & a mentor figure to Artemis as she helps the two of them adapt to life on Pop Star. She’s very sweet, considerate, and supportive of the two of her friends, and can be quite whimsical. Though none, except for Artemis, are aware of her nightly duties as the fearsome vigilante: Lunaris Knight!
Lunaris Knight: A vigilante that tears through the night skies, Lunaris is the knight that patrols Planet Pop Star only when the moon is high. She can be very serious when she feels as if something threatens Dream Land and will do whatever it takes to protect her planet and the stars that surround it. Don’t test her, or you might start seeing stars!
Mistress Moonlight: A sophisticated and high class astral that only seems to appear during formal celebrations and parties. She can be a little shy to talk to others as she hides herself behind her mask and fan. No one quite knows who she is or where’s she from. (Who would’ve thought such an innocent starborn such as Lunala could lead such a busy life?)
Dizzy: My silly little Kirbysona! Dizzy is a silly little goober who drifted into Pop Star’s Galaxy after disappearing from Halcandra for unknown reasons. They now reside in a nice little cardboard box somewhere in Floralia that acts a portal to a pocket dimension where they live with their friends! Unlike Magolor, Dizzy is a very innocent little space kitty trying to share their special little stories with the world. Would you like to listen to them?
SURPRISE PROPAGANDA ATTACK!
…Okay, this one isn’t a surprise really. Rifty posed for my drawing earlier to help me figure out how to draw their horns, so they knew this was coming! Still, here’s some reasons to vote for Rifty!
- Their name comes from them falling out of a rift. I think that’s a pretty interesting origin story!
- They’re good friends with Kirby! So if you vote for them, you’ll make Kirby happy!
- They’re purple! Everyone knows purple is the best colour. Short purple kids gotta stick together!

Rifty’s Awakening 🦋
A short introductory comic about the events of Rifty’s arrival in Dream Land! (I’d like to thank @ommetaphobian for helping me with the snow on the cover image, this artwork wouldn’t be the same without their help!)
This comic briefly describes Rifty’s perspective of their arrival. I also have a short story I wrote that detail the same events from Kirby’s perspective that I’ll hopefully post here sometime soon! I’ve accumulated quite the amount of handwritten OC stories over the past few months 💜

Last minute submission! Name: Rifty Personality: Rifty is a kind-hearted, benevolent being like Kirby. However, unlike Kirby, Rifty is more shy and introverted, though they still enjoy the close company of their friends. Backstory & Lore: Riding in from a winter breeze, Rifty arrived in Dream Land from a mysterious inter-dimensional rift. They have no memory of who they were before, the only thing they remember is waking in Kirby’s house after Kirby took them in from the storm. Rifty has been living in Dream Land for a couple of months now, doing their best to settle into their new peaceful life, all while still being haunted by the past they can’t quite grasp. Ok, so what if King Olly​ from Paper Mario The Origami​ King​ got a redemption arc? Here's my version of it, along with a story-important crossover with the Kirby series, because yes.

After the events of pmtok,​ Olly ends up in Another Dimension (Specifically the part of it where Magolor found himself in during Magolor Epilogue)​,​ with his magic capacity sliced in​ half, most​ of​ his abilities are also gone​ with the​ ones​ left​ not​ being very effective on enemies, and this place definitely isn't where Olly would want to be right now, since it's crawling with Sphere Doomers, Parallel​ Versions​ of Folded Soldiers and The Legion of Stationery​ (the Parallels are total opposites of their normal counterparts, and most of them are hostile towards Olly, except for Parallel Tape and Parallel Stapler.),​ so he has​ to​ restore​ his​ abilities​ by​ helping​ the​ friendlier individuals residing there, and for the final fight is against a shape-shifting abomination of many other people that he had helped along the way, just to mock and unnerve him, after half of the battle, it gives up, assimilating all of the nearby enemies into a giant abomination of all kinds of creatures folded or not, and when it's at the brink of desperation, it spits out all of the creatures it assimilated, and turns into a swirling mass of darkness, with abilities that are corrupted versions of Olly's own abilities, along with shields Olly must use specific attacks to break, once all the shields are broken and the core is vulnerable, Olly takes notice of the pattern on the floor and realizes it's a magic circle, so he activates it, which he refolds into a giant flash canon, which destroys the core in one fell swoop, Afterwards the shape-shifter bursts into lots of confetti, and a portal opens up, along with an orange butterfly seen flying into it, which Olly reflects his journey one last time, wipes a few tears, and goes into the portal. After getting into the portal, Olly ends up in Dreamland (Somehow, maybe it has to with that orange butterfly.) and meets Dalmo (My​ Kirby​ oc who ​is directly involved in the events of pmtok, since she helped Mario and Olivia out.), he spends some time in Dreamland until they can get another portal working to get Olly back home, after said portal is successfully working Olly decides to go back home, with Dalmo coming in with him, just in case he needs some help. After apologizing to everyone involved, and reuniting with Olivia and the Origami Craftsman, Olly and Olivia now live in a small cabin near the forest, it's not as big as it was but it's still their home after all, and the Origami Craftsman also visits the siblings fairly often And, how did Olly end up in Dreamland? Well, two factors, the portal and Morpho Knight (they're involved in this along with Queen Jaydes)​,​ giving Olly a chance to improve was Morpho's idea in the first place, and Jaydes helped out a little with other stuff.
Dream Friends AU Lore
Part 2: Forgotten Land​ part 2+ Post Game
After tracking down several Waddle Dees(while Dalmo's​team was helping out with rescueing the captured Waddle Dees in another direction), Kirby and Ginger​ find a mind controlled King Dedede, Elfilin gets kidnapped, so Kirby and Ginger pursue Elfilin who was being delivered to Forgo, to their shock, King Dedede was (double) mind controlled by a weird mask placed on him, Kirby and Ginger further pursue Elfilin, they find Leongar and Fecto Forgo, Elfilin forcefully gets merged with Forgo making them whole becoming Fecto Elfilis, Kirby and Ginger follow them to Lab Discovera's rooftop where the battle against the ultimate lifeform ensues, after multiple serious blows they managed to free Elfilin and destroy Elfilis with a literal truck. With Kirby and Ginger getting back to Popstar, Elfilin decides to close the rift with the last of their power, a few seconds later Elfilin comes back and, after tracking down the fragments of Leongar's soul, they return it to Leongar, only to see Forgo in a weaker state than before try to possess Leongar, and proceeds to get hit by shurikens in the face from Ginger, as a last ditch effort Forgo tries to fight Kirby and Ginger in soul form, but got interrupted by Morpho Knight, so the two puffballs fought the the scarlet clad knight and won, then Forgo pulls a reverse Morpho Knight and takes some energy from it as a change and the ultimate cup z begins. At the very top of the arena, Kirby, Ginger and Elfilin were horrified seeing Chaos Elfilis, then their battle begins. After several serious blows from Elfilis, Dalmo's team arrives just in time to help Kirby and Ginger to put a stop to Elfilis' wrath, after being defeated Elfilis and Elfilin finally become whole for good.

The "Deceptively cute" doodle​ shows Starstruck​ Dee​ and Periwinkle jumping up high, next to the previous doodle are both of their silhouettes featuring some sinister​ features​ (Periwinkle​ has​ eyes​on​ both the​ side of her face that's under her​ bandage​ and​ the​ small​ ring​ planet​ floating​ next​ to her, while Starstruck's directly taken from this).
The "Naptime​" doodle has Periwinkle and Starstruck​ Dee​ sleeping together.
The "Haywire bomb​" doodle shows Periwinkle and Starstruck Dee​ covered in burnt gunpowder from a haywire bomb, thankfully no one was injured, Periwinkle was slightly startled, while Starstruck was extremely startled, and is almost about to cry.
The "Funny joke​" doodle shows Starstruck Dee​ is making a joke in a cheerful mood while Periwinkle is listening and giggling at the joke Starstruck made.
The "Exciting story​" doodle shows Periwinkle reading a book to Starstruck as she listens excitedly.
The "Parallels​" doodle features Kirby and Bandee's faces, under those are Periwinkle's and Starstruck's, the text between them reads : Parallels . Alluding to the fact that Periwinkle and Starstruck's friendship was meant to be a parallel to Kirby and Bandee's friendship.
The "Late​ night​ research​" doodle shows a top view of Periwinkle and Starstruck doing some late night research on the Jamba Heart (as evident by the document with a picture of the Jamba Heart on it)​
The "Target​ practice​" doodle has multiple star shaped magic spears impaling a target, one completely missing the target, one hitting the target on the edge and the other hitting a bullseye on the center, Starstruck Dee is very happy and is jumping up and down while Periwinkle is rapidly clapping her hands and congratulating Starstruck Dee for hitting the target.
The "Flight in a basket" doodle shows Periwinkle​ with her wings out carrying Starstruck Dee in a basket Starstruck Dee and Periwinkle​ both look very happy.
The "We're surrounded!" doodle shows Periwinkle and Starstruck Dee back to back, Periwinkle is in front of the viewer holding a bomb in one hand and casting a magic circle in the other, while Starstruck is at the back of Periwinkle, holding her star shaped magic spear like how a fencer would hold their sword, though not pictured, they're surrounded by multiple enemies, they're both determined to get out of the swarm of enemies surrounding them alive. Above this doodle is a full picture of Periwinkle's magic circle, it's a small circle with four four-pointed stars on the circle.

thank you for sending this in, what an impressive effort! this is so cute, i especially love their poses, starstruck's little feet and how happy they are looking at the stars together! periwinkle is doing so great carrying that basket, gotta be one of the nicest ways to travel!
her story is very sweet as well (if it's available, there is lore for periwinkle in the linked googledoc!) and the touches of her remembering her time as void are so melancholy! i think starstruck would be so utterly fascinated by periwinkles history and memory. that's quite a backstory!!
Dalmo, she's a member of the Dark Matter species that got a permanent vessel shortly after her best friend at the time met her demise, she loves cooking and is especially good at making sweets, the sticky note she has on her face changes depending on her expression, it acts like a mask around people she isn't close with yet, but after warming up a bit she will finally show her singular eye. She also has black tentacles she can pull out whenever she wants to, the base of her tentacle indicates if she's using it for self-defense or not (red/orange:for attacking/self- defense, blue/purple/black:miscellaneous purposes.). She is capable of dimensional travel via. Blue portals that resemble clouds, she will also be very ticked off if someone tries to hurt her friends, but she isn't the kind of person to hold grudges so an apology can patch things up with her(and she still has concern for those who wronged her in the past though.). Her close friends are Magolor, Marx, Kirby, Susie, Taranza, Elfilin, Bandana Waddle Dee and a few ocs of mine which I won't reveal yet, and she has two cousins, Dark Matter Swordsman(aka. Kuro) and Gooey​.
So, @moon-mage who do you want me to draw (I can't draw puffballs with masks or gloves(Because the gloves end up looking a lot like ball hands.), actual humans, male humanoids, pants on a character, and any character using Dedede's body structure as a base, Sorry!)

Introducing the Dream Friends AU​ (or as I like to call it: U.I.D.KB-42792-DF(DF is short for dream friends.) because I like to make things complicated, lmao.)
Part 1: In-game events (DL2-FL Part 1) (The Dream Friends AU)​
Shortly after Dark Matter​Swordsman​'s​ first​ attempt​ at​ invading​ Popstar, he escaped with barely an inch of his life left and earned a permanent banishment from Dark Star, the events of Dreamland 3 (with the exception of the Dark Matter Kirby fights isn't DMS) and Crystal shards go as usual, and when Superstar rolls around (specifically milky way wishes), when Marx (somehow) got the sun and moon to fight, Dalmo (Dalmo is a female humanoid whose face is always covered by a sticky note which a lot were fooled by into thinking it's her actual face, but behind that sticky note hides a dark secret, in place of a face, is a giant singular (somehow familiar looking) eye, which means she is a member of the dark matter species who has somehow obtained a permanent vessel (will do a character blog on her later).)​ actually tagged along with Kirby to summon Galactic Nova, only for Marx to steal the wish instead, and after a battle with Marx and sending him flying into Nova (Marx survived by the way and accidentally absorbed a piece of Nova to still live) Kirby and Dalmo headed home, a few weeks later they decided to check on Marx, Kirby wanted to take Marx home, but Dalmo knew this wasn't a cake walk, so after divising a plan to bring Marx home (Marx was chilling at his battlefield), it's time to put it into motion, and after a bit persuading (with food) Marx decided to go home with them,amazing mirror and squeak squad go as usual, then in return to dreamland Dalmo and Ginger (a feline puffball with excellent mastery over ninja weapons who arrived a week before the events RTDL)​ come in and help the gang, (also side note Magolor caught a glimpse of whatever is under her sticky note, and he was terrified of it back then, now he sees it as him not being very familiar with the nature of the dark matter species back then, after all he never had a friend who is a member of the dark matter species up until that point.) and we get a glimpse of both of their abilities as well, triple deluxe goes as usual, and for planet robobot, let's just say cake hit the floor. and here comes the meaty part where the au completely takes a huge turn, everything remains the same except Dark Matter Swordsman​ properly gets to adventure with Kirby. Kirby also finally gets to see what's under Dalmo's sticky note, which was pretty terrifying even for Kirby, and after many tough battles, friends new and old, blitzing through the Jambastion, and meeting the Three Mage Sisters, they finally arrived at the Divine Terminus, defeat Zan Partizane and Hyness, so Hyness sacrifices the mage sisters​ and himself to the Jamba Heart ​,Kirby, Ginger, Dalmo, Marx and Magolor chased after the now completed Jamba Heart in the Star Allies Sparkler,​then the battle that will decide the fate of​ the universe ensues, after the first​ few​ phases​ of​ Void​ Termina, Dalmo noticed that Void Termina​ was actually​ using her species' signature abilities​ with a mixture of the abilities of The Three Mage Sisters, Kirby accidentally shot one of the eyes that appeared on Void Termina out of panic, and it caused some serious damage for them(void), then after a bit of calculation Dalmo came up with a strategy, shooting any of Void's eyes that pop up on their(Void uses They/Them pronouns)​ body, and void was down for the count, of course the core wasn't down, the main body was just exhausted, and after dealing it 3 times, Void Termina was defeated, but due to the sheer force of the conflict the battlefield crumbled, thankfully the escape route came in handy and everyone made it out safely, then Heroes in Another Dimension happens. Forgotten Land comes next, and Kirby, Ginger, Dalmo, DMS, Marx, Magolor and Susie (though Dalmo's team landed somewhat later than Kirby and Ginger) along with the other Popstar natives got sucked into a dimensional rift, into the Forgotten Land, thanks to Ginger's strong psyche she was able to resist Fecto Forgo's control, and teamed up with Kirby to deal with the situation at hand.
the Void Blade's design!
ive been having tons of fun developing Parallel Popstar's Void Corruption lately so heres a lil something i made recently for that: the Void Golem! it's a parasitic Void Beast called a Void Hijacker, and they are about the size of a regular Puffball. one of them took control of a huge statue of the previous queen, Axis.
related side note but the "Parallel" bosses from Kirby Star Allies also exist in my au:
Parallel Woods is the Void Arbor, a titanic tree that is capable of controlling the bizarre plant life of the Void.
Parallel Kracko is the Void Storm, a gargantuan and unpredictable weather system that causes havoc for those who linger uninvited in the Void for too long.
Parallel Meta Knight is the Void Blade, a small but incredibly powerful and ruthless swordfighter that can conjure up terrifyingly dangerous blizzards.
Parallel Dedede is the Void King, but despite that title it offers more of a support role, powering up Void Beasts around itself and occasionally crushing those near it with its huge hammer.
all of these ultimately serve Parallel Null, an entity so thoroughly corrupted by the Void that nothing of its old self remains. despite its extremely violent and animalistic disposition, its "Four Horsemen" (as called by the deities) protect it fiercely.
one more thing while im kind of on the topic: succumbing to the Void Corruption is an extremely slow and painful process. as for what exactly happens, i dont have any idea yet, but i do know that those suffering from it eventually become hyper-aggressive towards everyone. the worst part is that in its early stages it is VERY ADDICTIVE, similar to smoking.
