I planned to add some more doodles to this page, but since the power’s out and it doesn’t look like it’ll be on anytime soon, I’ve just decided to post as-is, haha.
Guide deserves to be happy sometimes!! Plus a fox with her winter coat and a local Lihzahrd
Local man has a lot of resentment for his situation even if he vehemently denies it, more at 11.
I shared this on Discord last night and forgot to post it then too haha
I don’t see it brought up very often, but in-game NPCs each have emojis that they favor and will use in certain situations. Guide and the Arms Dealer specifically use fighting emojis with each other, even if they don’t mind being neighbors. (The Arms Dealer outright admitting that he knows about the voodoo doll and would like to shoot it supports this, but it’s fun to talk about the emojis.)
Anywho. Guide’s aura makes him an immediate target of suspicion. The Arms Dealer isn’t 100% sure what’s up, but he doesn’t like it.
Random doodles with Andrew and Chris.
Had a rough day and decided to chill out and draw Chris (the hero) and Andrew (Guide) discussing the cold in honor of all the snow we’ve gotten recently. I didn’t get to go out much today, but while getting dinner I saw that campus was covered in snowmen and, to a lesser extent, igloos.
Anywho, Chris continues to hate the cold. He’s wearing both his own cloak and Guide’s jacket from this post, pre Chris-redesign. Andrew doesn’t really care about the weather -- it’s all a part of nature. Chris does not agree.
Dude im lowkey simping for the guide why he so cutee 😳✌️
Quite frankly if you don’t simp for the characters I draw, then what even is the point?
There’s been a bunch of snow and freezing rain lately, so I drew something fitting for the occasion.
Chris is the hero character in Purity Town -- he’s from a fishing village in a warm coastal area, so he’s never seen snow before.
I really appreciate some of the silly comments on this post and had to draw this one, haha.
I’ve died an embarrassing number of times to the green slimes on the surface due to having difficulty using melee weapons (very much including the copper shortsword you start with). Journey mode starting you off with a finch staff has been a lifesaver!
Short comic from my AU! I will drop a few notes into the read more about the scene, plus my typical nonsense in the tags.
The character shown in panel 5 is intended to be this AU’s hero character, Chris, wearing an amethyst robe (as he’s a budding mage). I will also mention that in this AU, Terraria can bring back to life (when not weakened -- hence why she couldn’t restore the Dryad race) those who have provided great service and died an unnatural death, though it’s not a very pleasant experience. Andrew (Guide) has been brought back many, many times at this point, though he does still harbor some worries that if the WoF is defeated, he’ll have served his purpose and will remain dead. He is making logical sense with pointing out that merely killing the WoF may not free him from his curse, though -- the old man has essentially been traditionally cursed/bound to Skeletron against his will, so destroying Skeletron will free him, but Andrew has always been the WoF; there’s nothing to be separated there when it’s one soul. That doesn’t mean he’s happy about it, but he’s had plenty of time to accept it.
Despite how they talk to each other, Andrew and the old man are friends in this AU. Andrew’s actually the elder of the two, funnily enough, even if he physically appears to be fairly young. Even before the old man is freed of his curse, Andrew will visit him by the dungeon, though he doesn’t stay for long. I originally planned this scene to have them having a picnic together, then realized I didn’t want to draw food, so Andrew is instead dropping off some supplies and is given a book stolen from the dungeon in return.
I have a lot more to say about this AU, but I don’t want to stick a mile long text blog into this post, so I’m going to cut it off here. Thanks for reading!
Doodled a young Guide and his older brother. (Context in the tags, jokes in the post.)
Imagine being a mother trying to raise your two boys in the aftermath of a war with Cthulhu that nearly destroyed your entire world and- you’re just trying to raise them to be respectable young citizens despite the bad circumstances. Your older son, okay, he’s a little too into knives and swords and fighting things, but that’s just a phase right? And the younger boy is intensely curious about the natural world and good for him for learning to read so young, and then he comes to you and summons a flame on his fingers and- okay, great, natural affinity for magic yeah? You can still work with this.
And then the older boy grows up to make a career out of being a ninja and promptly gets himself killed, and then the younger one is a ranger, and you think great! A good hobby. But then he turns out to be the human incarnate of the fucking guardian of the underworld. And you are so, so tired
Another Terraria doodle. In this AU, Dryad and Guide aren’t exactly great friends, but they have known of each other for a long time and she’s very much aware of “the situation.” Despite her (fairly warranted) chewing out, she does respect him for the most part, though she sometimes questions his actions.
Back in June or so I made a ~20 page document of various Terraria worldbuilding fun and just remembered its existence today. So anyways, had to draw the Guide. Sorry I killed you dude :( you’re still my favorite NPC
