I nuked the pompadour to give him more visual differences
Changed gideon’s suit to have elements of Stan’s styling, including the jacket cut, the bolo tie’s amount of tails, and the now visible white cuffs
Strange pseudo father-son dynamic that is still very explosive
Gideon has the amulet, but not the book. As of now, it’s purely an accessory
Gideon quickly becomes makeover buddies with mabel when they show up, but doesn’t quite mesh with dipper
I just found my old drawings of Dipper and Mabel from 2015😭 I also drew bits of their personality… I wrote that Journal 3 is Dipper’s pet???

Stanley Pines looked in the mirror at the old red sweater that belonged to his estranged brother, wherever he was. He stared at his stomach, his face, the square glasses finishing off the con man’s mask he had been wearing for 29 years. It was time for the annual Mystery Shack Holiday Party.

He hadn’t really changed in those thirty years. Even with the real ford gone, he was still just a screw up running a shack of lies in the middle of nowhere. With Ford’s luck he’s probably sailing with someone at least competent, not a man who ruins everything.

Every single year the mystery shack throws a holiday party, and every single year it goes horribly wrong. But at least he could spend the holidays around Soos and Wendy, but even then they went home eventually. When they did, he was just a sad old man who will try to save his brother for eternity if he has too. But even then, he might run out of time.
Oh and what a year it’s been And now it’s finally here again The time of year that you fear But you know That you don’t want it to end
Who knows, next year might be even more hectic, more children will destroy things, more weird monsters will appear. But it will never be the same without Ford. No matter what happens, he can’t give up on him yet, not when he has so little to lose.

The party was finally over, and Stanley was left wondering what would’ve happened if they had stayed together. If he hadn’t of broken the machine, if they could still celebrate together like they did when they were little. After all, he really is just the screw up.

Also, yes. Alex Hirsch rules as a human being. There's a reason why he and Dana Terrace have been partners for so long and why he rules as a writer, artist, and actor. I mean, this is the man who trolled Giuliani's nonsense voter fraud hotline as both Grunkle Stan and Soos. The guy rules!

I am a heterosexual Stanley Pines truther until it comes to the art I see of him and Rick Sanchez. That is the only exception in my mind, sleaze bag X other sleaze bag you are so famous to me.

Hi so I got back into gravity falls and was reminded of how much I love Stanley Pines, and I would like to share that I think Stan would absolutely capitalize off of pride month, for example :
Stan: Come on folks, get your mystery shack pride month T-shirts!! And don't forget your mystery shack question mark pins, for the confused ones!
Dipper: Grunkle Stan, I don't think this is as progressive as you think it is.
Stan: Progressive is my middle name, now go help your sister paint the sign with glitter.
Mabel: *is painting the mystery shack sign covered head to toe in rainbow glitter*
(Additionally Stan has a pride flag flying on top of the shack, Blubs and Durland bought matching shirts)

I love Stan's relationship with the kids so much.
GF emphasizes a lot of very real trauma in Stan's past. Everything from child abuse, homelessness, drug abuse, and survival sex work. And the way that meshes with Mabel being this truly genuine depiction of a weird little girl creates something that is very unique to the series.
It's really touching how Mabel just being Mabel heals Stan's inner child and the way he naturally clicks with her. The weird and creative little boy he used to be, before his father's abuse and toxic masculinity beat that joy and optimism out of him.
It's just damn good. It's a really beautiful depiction of an intergenerational relationship. And I haven’t really seen anything else quite like it. Because there’s also Dipper.
There’s this wall between Stan and Dipper that goes beyond his similarities with Ford and its gender.
Dipper is a boy and Stan clearly doesn’t really know how to handle that. He was taught that boys are raised in a very specific way. And like we see how Stan really struggles with his past, the way he talks about the boxing lessons in particular.
Masculinity is so deeply entwined with Stan's pain and it’s something he can’t easily unravel. How is he supposed to be able to criticize his father for 'toughing him up' when he feels like punching things is one of the only things he’s good at? It's fucking sad.

No but like the angst potential?
It's after Weirdmageddon, Bill is gone, Dipper and Mabel are back in Piedmont and Stan and Ford are sailing on the StanO'War.
Ford didn't get around to tinkering with his old projects until then, worrying about too many things around Bill and then Stan regaining his memory. However, finally, he has the time to look back.
Finding the googles all fixed up and fully working (all by accident, mind you) opened up so much potential for more discoveries.
He could look back and study the details he's previously missed or didn't pay as much time as he wanted to. He is ecstatic to have such an opportunity, all thanks to Stan.
After some time, he starts wondering about things other than research. His life, mostly. His and Stanley's. How many things have they already forgotten and could now see as if they happened the day before? It'd also help with Stan's recovery and fasten the process.
Once, late into the night, he finally decides to sit down and look back at their lives. He finds hidden details, relives the happiest moments of his life as well as the hardest. He can't say he's been the happiest throughout his life but it's been good.
Then he looks at Stanley and something breaks.
He sees their childhood from a completely different perceptive. He isn't the smart twin anymore, he is Stan. The one that was always considered less, the one that was offered for just a few bucks by his own father, the one that stood up for Ford and was there through thick and thin.
And they get older and the guilt in his chest gets heavy with every screening.
The hidden, unfulfilled dreams and ambitions, the hardships and hopes for a better future on StanO'War. All for it all to come crumbling down because of the science project which, in the end, wasn't actually Stan's fault at all. Ford finally realises it, over 40 years later.
He can't take his eyes off of the googles even despite the pain he feels from seeing Stan be kicked out. He watches his own brother be thrown around and used by people, life forcing him on his knees, as if punishing him for simply existing. The breakdowns, pain, nearly deaths, it all shakes Ford to his core.
And he feels awful when he watches himself disappear into the portal only for Stan, the brother Ford left behind for success, to take it upon himself to get Ford back. Stan spends 30 years studying subjects he doesn't understand and trying to fix a portal with a single journal, all to return his twin brother home.
The first thing Ford does? A punch to the face. And Ford can feel the punch as well, the reality being thrown at him with such overwhelming force.
Stan doesn't understand why Ford doesn't touch the googles again and becomes so much more understanding and appreciative towards him.
Sorry if it sounds like rambling, it's like 1 AM and my mind is all over the place to be honest.
Stanford Pines had been working in something amazing before he encountered Bill. It looked like a tape but it would be used to have a look at different times without interacting with them, he had a whole plan for it: Goggles, some sort of virtual reality goggles that would let you peek into the future or past without worrying about altering anything, and the tape to select the time period you'd like to watch.
It is, unfortunately, no where near complete. His muse has told him to focus on something greater: the portal.
Stanley Pines had messed up, shocker. He broke one of his brother's projects again, a measuring tape looking machine.
On nights he doesn't know how to fix the portal, he sounds ficing that tiny machine. The design is lame but he tries to keep it true to it's original form and, despite it breaking because he was an idiot, he feels accomplished when he finishes it and puts it back in it's original place.
30 years later, Stanford Pines returns only to find out his brother had accidentally created the very first time tape.
(Or: Stan fixes the time tape/watcher a bit TOO well and becomes the founder of time machines basically)

I hope this au hasn't been done before because I spent a while coming up with their designs. If this post does well ill go more in depth into the story for this au. I didn't want to make their shapes their symbols in the zodiac cuz I feel like that's too easy and I wanted the shapes they are to embody them in a way I see makes sense. (Mabel glows btw and Ford still has 6 fingers)

A Fading Day~ Part Three
I am totally obsessed with this story, so please enjoy! I worked very hard on this!

“Sixer?… A-aren’t you mad at me…?”
“Why would I be mad?”
“Remember? Y-You said you didn’t want me to go off the boat but I went anyway and you said I didn’t care about ‘wherever we go we go together’...”
“That never happened, Stan… You've been out for a week…”Ford wraps his arms around Stan.“I thought you died on me…” Sixer whispers.
Stan smiles and hugs Ford back.“Well, I'm still here aren’t I?”
Dipper and Mabel run into the hospital room.“Grunkle Stan!”
“Are you ok?!?!”
“Heh, I think kiddos.”
Stan sits up and hugs Dipper and Mabel.“What happened?” asks a curious Dipper.“I don’t know. I was doing research when I walked into our room and saw Stan had passed out on the floor.”
“Was he holding anything?”
“...Yes… I’d rather not say what it was…”
Stan tries to remember something before he passed out. Then, he knows.“Hey kiddos, can I talk to Ford for a minute?” Stan asks as he ruffles Dipper’s hair.
“Sure, Grunkle Stan!” Mabel responds in a cheery voice. Dipper and Mabel proceed to walk out of the room, Stan’s eyes waiting for the door to click closed.As they leave, Stan sighs and asks Ford in a worried voice, “That really happened, didn’t it?”
Ford shivers as a small tear runs down his face.“I-It did…”
“Why did you deny it then?”
“I-I hate knowing I caused you this and I wanted you to think it never happened…”
“Hey, look, for what it’s worth, I'm sorry, ok?” Stan opens his arms up and slaps a small smile across his face.
Ford practically leaps towards Stan and squeezes him so tight Stan felt he might as well burst like a balloon! While doing this, Stan looks at his arms and sees scars from it. More than before.
Then, a tall, skinny figure knocks on the door. “Come in!” Stan yells while Ford sits back on one of the chairs by Stan.
Rick Sanchez runs over to Stanley and hugs him. “L-Lee!” Rick ruffles Stan’s hair. “Hey babe. You comin’ was kinda unexpected.” Stan rolls his eyes, as his boyfriend was never this sappy. “A-Are you kidding m-me?!? Why wouldn’t I come?!? Plus-Plus, why w-ould y-you f-fucking do that-that to y-y-yourself!?!” Rick yells, but then starts to whisper. “I was- I was worried as h-hell about you.”.
All this is happening while Ford is sitting there with his arms crossed, grumbling and still mad about Rick Sanchez being Stan’s boyfriend. Rick kisses Stan, and sits down on the hospital bed with him. That’s when he sees Ford.
“Hey-Hey Sixer.”
Ford grumbles, but still knows he needs to be polite. “Hello, Rick.”
Then, Dipper and Mabel open the door, and walk back into the room. “Uh, Grunkle Stan? Who’s that?” Dipper asks, sitting down next to Ford, while Mabel goes to him and tries touching Rick’s hair, but he swats her hand away. “Uh, he-he’s a-” Rick stops him and answers instead. “I-I’m his boy-boyfriend, kid.”. Dipper and Mabel freeze and keep looking at Stan then Rick. They look back and forth until Stan starts coughing.
“Stan, are you-” Ford gets cut off by Rick asking, “Hey-Hey, you ok L-Lee?”. “Yeah, *cough* I’m-I’m fine.” Stan responds, trying to act like he’s not burning up and it feels like he’s being stabbed. “Do you want me to call the nurse in, Stanley?” Ford asks worriedly.
“*cough* I… *cough* can’t… *cough* breath…*cough*” Rick’s hand slams on the button to call the nurse. He did it before Ford could even bring his hand up to press it. The nurse comes in and sees Stan coughing. She immediately starts helping.
Ford is holding one of Stan’s hands and Rick is holding the other. Stan looks over at Rick and Ford. He smiles at them, and he’ll never admit it, but Rick is afraid it’s the last time he’ll ever see his wonderful smile.
