I've started another all nighter with a mini comic of my Blended with Love au.
Featuring Monty and Gregory bonding time.
I just had a thought.
In FNAF Security Breach, Vanessa confronts Freddy in the Utility tunnels. Everyone knows this fact because of all the memes made from it.
But while writing out my Blended with Love au, I was rewatching clips of the actual conversation to get the wording closer to the game dialogue before my au would break away from the canon time line.
But I noticed something in this line.
"Ok, look. We're like fifteen minutes from closing, and some kid is sneaking around backstage. If you see ANYTHING, notify me immediately. I already alerted the others. Now, go back to your room!"
By itself it doesn't seem odd at all until you start to think about when you're first introduced to Vanessa while in Freddy's room.
She's looking around in the main walking area for Gregory. Not in the rooms.
So why would she say "backstage"?
My theory is that this is an activation phrase.
These animatronics are made to entertain children and make their visit memorable. So it's safe to assume that part of their safety protocols is to not harm a child.
The Afton corruption overrides that and puts them into a hunting mode.
But how do they stay safe while there's hundreds of children in the pizzaplex?
That's where the activation phrase comes into play.
The activation phrase would activate a dormant version of the Afton corruption and then it would make the animatronics unsafe for children.
So when Vanessa says "some kid is sneaking around backstage" she's trying to activate the dormant corruption inside Freddy. But it didn't work. Which is also why he also didn't immediately go back to his room when told and why he promises to help Gregory at any cost.
That's my rant for the day.

Made this before I ironed out most of Gregory's design so he's lacking a few details.

The dialogue was the mimic making people think that it’s Gregory that what I believe

that one character you absolutely love and adore with all your heart and soul and every headcanon you see of them is immediately canon and you want to draw fanart of them and share you throughts on them but they keep bouncing around in your brain and they won't hold still for you to have at least one coherent thought about them and I'm going to cry let me show my love for you pls-
Monty: What’s that little gremlin doing here?
Freddy: This is my boy child *holds up Gregory*
Gregory: Do you have drip?
Freddy: Drip? But I am not wet.
Gregory: Nooo! Drip means you have swagger! Cool clothes and all that junk.
Freddy: Is my bow tie drip enough?
Gregory: …Sure

Freddy: Gregory what does Lmao mean?
Freddy: Gregory why are you laughing at me?
Freddy: That’s cheating!
Gregory: and?
Gregory: *Blinks*
Freddy: Way to go superstar!
