Life's not fair, i should be paid for existing and reading books
Day 2 of inktober: light
day one of inktober: teeth
Not platonic, not romantic, but a secret third thing (the tragedy of a friendship so colored by romance)
It's the wriaths wifey on Ao3.
This is the stuff
these days i can only enjoy the tales of others despair
for the childhood stories of fantasy and magic and dragons no longer brings me joy
they call me to forever mourn my lack of ability to lift off the ground
of my craft never able to transfigure
of never being born a boy
Theodore : from a Greek word meaning “gift of God"
You’re walking in the woods in late autumn. A crow caws, somewhere. You step on something, and hear a sharp crack. You look down. It’s a bone.
The clocktower in the town square has been broken for as long as anyone can remember. One day, it rings.
The leaves are turning. Last year, the brilliant oranges and reds lasted well after they fell. Now, the leaves are grey. They crumble into ash when touched.
The ocean is cold, and unrelenting. The waves crash against the cliffs. A captain yells out to his crew, but there is no ship.
You have been walking in a graveyard for hours. Someone is watching you. You turn, but no one is there. You read the gravestone at your feet. Your name is carved into it. A rabbit darts in front of you, and you shiver.
The mountains stretch on for miles. Endless, repeating mountains, stretching so far into the horizon that it seems that once the mountains end, so does the world.
You drive down the backroads at midnight. The trees are impossibly dark. Something runs in front of your headlights. It was a deer. It has to be a deer.
There are four churches on the same street. At five p.m. on the dot, the bells ring. They are deafening.
The sunflowers have died. They stand all winter, bleak omens of what’s to come.
You are looking for witching stones in the river. Something shiny catches your eye, and you fish it out. It’s an iron cross. It’s cold. You toss it back.

Call me a Ghoul-Writer cuz I’m signing th heck up for this (I have no idea but I’ll find something 🫡)
Have you ever wondered what types of ‘paperwork’ Papas and Cardinals are always doing in fics? Or what kind of homework do siblings receive during classes taught by the clergy?
Well now is your chance to create your take on those assignments.
Whether it's an academic-style paper for Secondo’s History of the Ministry, a piece of art for Primo’s Drawing 101 class, or a condition report of a ministry relic, it can be submitted here. Terzo’s poetry or photography classes can also submit their works. (Not all of the views might match, do not worry, everyone's ‘branch’ works a bit differently.)
Your work is important regardless of your role as a sibling in the ministry. Here we can showcase all your hard work.
Don’t have a ‘research’ topic that comes to mind? No worries, we can have a brainstorming session to point you in the right direction.
“What if I don’t want to work on this alone?” I’m sure some others feel the same way and will be eager to connect over mutual topics.
Don’t you think you can commit to a full research-style piece of writing? We will accept ‘write-ins’ debating a made-up ‘previous’ article. Or even a short incident report that describes encounters or conflicts between siblings and ghouls.
If it feels like something that might come across a Papa’s desk, then it is welcome.
"Similar in appearance to a briefcase, they are primarily used to hold and transport official ministerial papers. Red boxes are one modern form of dispatch boxes, which have been in government use for centuries." Wikipedia
The loose theme of this is academia. This should be a fun ministry lore-building exercise. You get to build a new perspective into the inner workings of the ministry. Once again, not all of the views might match, do not worry, every ‘branch’ works a bit differently. After all, this is a ministry-wide collection of works.
These should be written from an ‘in-universe’ point of view. Meaning that these should feel like they come from a sibling/clergy member’s hand. The potential discussions about magic or ghouls are limitless.
This comes from my urge to write an academic-style paper again. I miss doing visual analyses on pieces of art and think it might be interesting to attempt that with the different pieces of cannon art for Ghost (ie: the stained glass backdrops, papal portraits, or even t-shirt art)
I also feel like Ghost fans love finding the hidden meanings of everything. This is a chance to fully compose those thoughts in a long-form piece of writing for others to enjoy. This means bringing in as many citations as you feel you need to completely defend your stance.
This will be compiled into a PDF for all participants to enjoy, share, or even print to have a physical copy. It will be formatted in a way that will be easy to print and bind.
This is so there is no money being exchanged and creators can do whatever else they wish with these pieces. While we aren't collecting money, we are encouraging people to donate to a cause they believe in if they can do so.
Want to write about a historical painting but have nothing to do with it afterward? This is your chance to make that urge feel productive.
Want to create something based on the ghouls that look at them from a research perspective? Great!
Did you do a bunch of random detail research for a fic and want to give it a chance to shine? This is your time.

Any good story (or in this case, blog) needs some sort of introduction. Could be anything from how the harsh War had inspired Grandma to make her casserole to console her little ones. Or the epic car chase a spy finds themselves in to get the first of many clues involving an elusive diamond. Even better could be the classic cliche of a brief moment from a nightmare where the writer snaps awake as the jaws of a bloodthirsty creature brushes against their neck.
However, I find it best to introduce myself by letting you down gently. One: I am not involved in any major wars. Two: I am not a super spy either. And finally three:.... that's debatable.
I am simply a depressed young adult who so dearly wants to be a writer despite the fact of the many, MANY stressors that happen in my life among all the other misfortunes.
I'm not going to David Copperfield you here and go on about the story of my birth. Instead, I will tell you about one of my many stories I have. The story of my internet name.
Looking at the word Vintage, you'd probably think, "Ohhhh so they must be one of THOSE people who love to collect old fahsion and antiques, huh?" As much as I do have a curiosity in such things, you would be incorrect. Among an old friend group of mine, another friend of mine and I shared the same name. Since I was the orginal memeber of the group they decided to call me Vintage.
And the word midnight (midnite) is simply because I appreciate the atmosphere of nighttime.
As one of my professors taught me, the best way to start something is to just do it. So here we gooooooo!!!
HES SO BEAUTIFUL im goingy to cry……..

happy october (all from pinterest!)
Seal my honey drenched lips, with your petal soft kiss. Place your heaven made palm on my feather dulcet skin. Let them words flow from your poetic mouth, and let them become tattoos on my sacred back. Just like the sea rumbles for the the passionate moon, and so do, i for you.

Something about the way your lips moved when they called out my name. Dew drops from heaven placed on those soft petals. Thunders woke me up turning those drops into hails. All in vain. Just a nightmarish daydream.

Please
I'm so tired
I can't keep this up.
These aren't my lungs
My heart beats for others
But I'm not done
My tears smother.
I want death to come peacefully
Wrap me in cloth
And talk to me gracefully.
Whisper to me as I fall asleep
In the arms of someone who cares.
The weight on my shoulders makes me buckle
But the pressure on my chest makes me chuckle.
No one knows
Life is No's
To curl up and die
I float
One final night
No more lies.
To pass on to the joyous chatter of party goers
Is the sweetest release when laughter is the final overture.
I spread myself too thin and my limbs are being stolen from me
Who or where has what
And why is it how it has to be?
Just,
Please,
Leave me alone.
I long for the days of the wheel when I can see you again.
When the veil of unearthly delights are in sight.
I adore you my sweet, but I wish you could see it.
You watch through the mist of existence unable to touch mortality,
As my imagination of you makes me question morality.
I'll see you again my dear, it just may be sooner than you want.
Title: Maiden of The Mist
ILL WIRITE A WOWMAN LIEK THAT
I wish there were more dark academia books with strong, morally gray women characters.
I don't want a noble and good character. I want one who will do whatever it takes to get what they want.
Yet a character like that is almost always a man. I rarely get see women written like that.
"Do not ask to find here a statement or a theory. Pay attention only to the internal story of a sincere life, a long life, fecund in happy and sad moments, not without contradictions. A life full of illusions, but that is always trying , not reaching the unapproachable truth, to reach the harmony of the spirit, which is our ultimate truth."
Romain Rolland's note for his book "An enchanted soul" August 1922
i feel like there are two types of people in the world: the ones who connect with the birth of venus and the ones who connect with caravaggio’s medusa.
i just want to work in a small museum in italy where i translate latin manuscripts and talk to college kids about the ancient world before walking to my little apartment by the sea to drink tea and watch the sunset while chopin plays in the background. is that too much to ask?
let these dark academia valentines do the talking for you
literally every aspect of life including just sitting in your room to study becomes more interesting and fun if you pretend you're the main character of a dark academia book and you're busy covering up a murder
When I said that I want to be a main character in a book I didn't mean a Russian novel.
my order from @seminarycoop came in & i am SO excited to dig in!! seminary also sent some cute stickers/goodies with my order, which was a lovely surprise :)
i liked caitlin starling’s debut, The Luminous Dead, and i’m pumped for another sapphic horror story. i’m also having a ton of fun writing about the Locked Tomb books rn, so— review to come for YJ too, hopefully :)
