crutchie - actually he's the only one who doesn't play anything .. he came along to all the band rehearsals and sat w them
hs au javey where Davey (in a fit of frustration and sensory nightmares) takes off his shirt in the changing room during phys ed ... he usually goes into a stall but not today he just doesn't have the time, patience or willingness for it, plus it's empty right now ... cue jack stepping into the room right as davey's shirt comes off and immediately turning the other direction because oh my god is it disrespectful he's so fine fuck am I meant to look is it okay to look does he have abs????
and davey's like 'hey .... jack .....'
and jacks like 'IMSOSORRYWAITNOIDIDNYMEANIJUSTTHOUGHT' and Davey has to physically take a step back ....
and obviously crutchie and Katherine hear about it later but you knew that already
ok so. jack was denied physical touch for all of his life, and the newsies aren't really big on it. jack sought out physical touch through playful slaps and shadow boxing, and flopping his arm over someone's shoulder as inconspicuously as possible.
Davey sees straight through it ... and he lets jack do his thing. lets jack shadow box him and rub his shoulders and offer to give him back massages and beat him up out of love ... because he knows jack needs that kind of validation ... (meanwhile jacks thinking he's the most inconspicuous guy ever)
so when jack starts gravitating towards davey, davey takes that as a success . jack feels safe around him ... and davey knows, especially regarding jacks past, that this is a feat. to be this close with jack, who only ever let his walls all the way down around crutchie ...
and when jack confesses thag he has feelings for davey, Davey can't help but celebrate on the inside. sure, he's had feelings for jack for ages too, but davey takes the greatest joy in the fact that he is one of jacks few safe people ....
dude what are the newsies birthdays .... like are there canon days or is it just headcanons ......
Working on new designs again, how do we feel about Crutchie??
crutchie is a BIG fun socks guy ... he's got at least 10 pairs of utterly odd and colourful socks ... davey on the other hand only owns black socks and jack only owns white socks ..
jack and crutchie who have look at phone in bed time together every day vs. davey who has to look at phone in bed by himself (crutchie is funnier so he gets bed time with jack)
crutchie and davey play ranked splatoon w race while jack looks at phone in bed ... occasionally davey yells in anger just like a 'GRHAH' and it catches jack really off guard ... one time he actually falls out of bed ... my domestic boarding school headcanons ...
in a hobby shop rn ... anyway crutchie is a board game fan .... race collects model cars .... davey likes making models but isn't too into cars ... race has horrible fine motor skills ... davey makes the models for race to display ....

crutchie has a blahaj btw ... jack and Davey have a djungelskog ... their shared room in (boarding) school is a MESS but they have their guys so it's ok ...
crutchie who knows FAR too much about javey because every night if jack isn't at davey's house he's talking crutchie's ear off about literally EVERYTHING that happens. crutchie knows what daveys mouth tastes like and that one of his molars is chipped. crutchie knows the exact dimensions of davey's face and balls. crutchie knows. crutchie wishes he did not know because now every time he looks at Davey he cannot block the imagery.

Because hes a ray of sunshine (yes ik hes a bamf and dont take nobody's shit )
Probably got started when jack went to one of those meetings with spot and brought crutchie with him for the first time, and crutchie smiles and is very polite so spots like mentally *protect this adorable sunshine kid* (platonically like jack)
And don't come for me saying 🤓☝️ "actually the reason brooklyn waited was to see if Manhattan would back down" ok I get that but this is a HEADCANON let me dream

Is Jack the art teacher? Race is probably also the teacher to spend half the class talking about his day.
Race is the type of Italian teacher whom 12 year old girls simp over and give sickening cards to on Valentines day, and when they find out he has a boyfriend they face time their friends and cry at 6 pm
Crutchie is the type of English Lit teacher who tries his best that students actually like because of his non cringey humour and kindness. He brings homemade cookies into class and helps people overcome shyness
Albert is the teacher who forgot what class he teaches, his hair colour, his age and his address
