The greatest injustice ever faced is that I almost certainly started the still thriving "clown husbandry" tag on here, but any discussion about it (from a know your meme page to a youtube video with 500k views) says it's a joke of "unknown origin" or credited to this post, likely bouncing off of mine (which was actively circulating at the time with like 30k notes):
This is a tragedy for many reasons, most of all because it wasn't just an offhand joke but actually a direct response to some of the funniest online hate I ever got:
They're erasing the truest history of tumblr: its desperate need to seethe and argue over every obvious joke with more than 10 notes.
anyways here is the canonical pet clown. according to me
Image ID: Each image contains a drawing of a ball python wearing clown makeup, a neck ruff, and a party hat. The pattern of the clown makeup closely matches the look of the "clown" morph ball python's head stamp. Two of the images have the words "Clown Husbandry" in pink lettering with red stroke over the image of the snake. Two of the images, one with and one without text, have a transparent background.
Clown is a ball python morph so I thought of this :)
Did I mention I love clowns?

Daisy might have a bit of a hoarding problem
That box is empty, by the way. She just likes the art on it. I suggested she put some of her smaller things in there to protect them from breaking and conserve space but she got really upset at the idea of not being able to see them
Clown month Day 5: Dessert!!
A Macaclown? A Jesteron? I’m not sure but either way, they have nibbled it it’s theirs now.
@clownartmonth a little treat for you!
She tried to take a selfie
Silly clown is all alone and has no friends.
First post on Tumblr!! Daisy is so excited!! She said she wanted to wear her fancy ribbon for the photo.
It’s just clown husbandry all over again…
Okay, don't get me wrong here. I LOVE Jurassic Park. I love seeing their dinosaurs. But after watching Prehistoric Planet, and going back to look at this...
And then looking at this...
Notice how much healthier the second set looks? Their lips cover their teeth, they actually have fat on their bodies, their skin doesn't wrinkle like they're dehydrated. You can't see every single tendon and muscle move because you aren't supposed to. Dinosaurs are animals, not reptilian body-builders.
THIS is the kind of change I want to see in how we create realistic depictions of not only dinosaurs, but all prehistoric creatures. Paleoart has always had a huge issue with shrink-wrapping and making these animals look terrifying instead of making them look like, well, animals.
Well done, BBC.
I don't see enough people talking about this, but your mimes still need candy! So do your rodeos! While rodeos can be fine with a diet of just nuts and deep-fried foods, a proper clown diet requires candy. There is also the common mistake that mimes can only eat black-and-white candy - which is completely untrue! Mimes and Rodeos need a well-rounded, colourful diet of candy to have the proper nutrients. By ignoring their clown nature and focusing solely on their subspecies, you are not giving your clowns the proper care they deserve.
Y’all like clowns right?
Recently I have been looking into adopting clowns, but I’m not quite sure on where to start looking for information. I heard senior scare clowns are best for beginners in a few different posts. Can someone help me out?
Why??
A slight departure from my regular posting to give you all a quick clown PSA!
Please don’t approach any clowns that don’t seem comfortable around you! It takes them around a month to re-grow limbs that they shed if they become frightened.
So i found out about clown husbandry recently and the one thing I'm curious about is are mascots a breed of clown and if they are what dose that make furry but if they are not a breed of clown and just a branch of furry then dose that make animatronics like we see in the fnaf documentary the furry equivalent of a fear clown?
Enclosures like these do not provide the same comfort and safety that bouncy castles, and bouncy houses, and ball pits provide. Getting a bubble like this for your clown because “you like the aesthetic” is cruel. The see through bubble will make your clown feel improperly hidden or and safe which can lead to severe stress and panic attacks. This bubble will provide little to no enrichment for you clown. It can also be a hazard, some clown breeds have poor eyesight similar to how birds can’t see glass and have poor depth perception. This is why having brightly colored and padded walls such as in a bouncy house are crucial for the safety of your clowns. Clowns deserve a place to feel comfortable and safe. These bubble houses should not be used as a replacement for a bouncy house or ball pit. Sadly I have seen them be marketed as a two in one replacement for both. New clown owners need to be aware of this and steer clear of these.
Ok so i haven't been active on tumblr for over a year but i heard about the large clown husbandry community on here, and naturally i have a question about clowns. this morning i saw a small clown on the side of the road on my way to school, on my way home she was still there so i picked her up and carried her on to the bus with me (she was very calm and docile) anyways, she's currently in my closet with some balloons and stuffed animals i had layong around. (this is obviously NOT a permanent solution) I wanted to take a photo to post here for advice on what breed she might be/what to do with her but she seemed a little agitated so i just took a nap. when i woke up she was sleeping peacefully and i took a couple snaps, but my camera app was being super glitchy and all i caught was static. after some brief research i am led to believe that my little clown is... radioactive? is this normal? what should i do with her when she wakes up? i am a little afraid now.
