I love Chilaios cause to me their dynamic in a romantic setting would be of how absolutely smitten they are for each other. To the point of learning entire new skills or in a sense of self better meant for the other that also helps them in the long run.
Like Laios trying to learn more table and people based manners from Chilchuck’s displeasure with him at times. Trying to resist moving too quickly, talking without thinking, going into the personal space of others, just in general trying to fix his manners so Chil doesn’t have to fuss or be angry. Loving the smiles and small gestures of Chil when he’s happy of wanting to improve.
And Chilchuck in a sense of trying to learn how to handle his own anger when lashing out. Not enjoying pained looks of Laios or worried glances of Falin when he interacts with her brother. Taking time and effort to handle remarks and other things he feels are far too mean at times while still remaining his usual snark. As well as trying to improve his own work life balance to be able to get himself out of bad habits that Laios notices.
And to others that know them it’s obvious but also not at the same time. Laios Willing to bend down to any of Chil’s quick plans or following suit to his ideas if better or for worse. And Chilchuck allowing small touches and physical contact from Laios letting himself relax around the other.
UGHHHH I love the two so much. Laios feels so similar to me so at times he feels very easy to think of and I end up feeling bad if anything in my silly brain feels out of character for chil.
Gears in my brain are turning wondering how would one or the other realize they’re in love.
For Laios I feel would be a thing of slowly over time finding out and realizing from afar but never really being the one to confess instead staying along the lines of “I like him but I think it’s best to keep it to myself.” Being content just being able to know Chilchuck at all even if it pains him at times.
While Chilchuck would just have a moment of realization that he’s head over heels. Just absolutely going insane trying to reason with himself before just coming to terms he’s in love with Laios. Finding himself miffed at everything Laios does and any of his small mannerisms and rants, just thinking in his mind “why did it have to be him” but not actually hating it. I feel like he’d be the one to confess preferring to have his feelings out there instead of bottling them up something he’s too used to doing.

Whenever I think about Chilaios like both of them falling in love to me they’re the dynamic of one fell first and the other fell harder. Chilchuck being the one who fell harder.
But I’m thinking how would Laios be like when in love cause Chilchuck is a special case who knows his insanity but isn’t the most fond of it.
And my thought is that to anyone who knows his mannerisms well and how he acts could easily decipher the affections he shows to Chilchuck which are very minor things. But to anyone else they’d be like “that’s a stretch” but it isn’t.
So it would be only like Falin who’s like “I see you flirty Mac flirty pants” to Laios Just passing the salt to Chilchuck and they’re both like giddy about even the slightest moment he has near him.
And Chilchuck is going insane cause of the absurdity of being in love with Laios but also the absurdity of know he has to contain it but something just something tells him Laios is flirting which he can catch for some reason.
So any time Laios does slightly nice Chilchuck is playing 3rd chess trying to decipher what is and isn’t flirting, while Laios and Falin are giggling to themselves since both of their ways of flirting never got past the third grade and letting someone use your crayons.
Chilaios where they go on weekly dates to random restaurants and cafés they find. Laios looking for any new dish or new types of sweets. And Chilchuck is big on the alcohol.
Becoming friends over their own notes of different places they’ve been to Chilchuck’s being simple with not too much written down while Laios has an entire booklet about everything.
They make little times where they’re both free and going out together casually which eventually turns into Both of them catching feelings.
Laios specifically for places that have decent alcohol trying to hint at something, and Chilchuck trying to see a specific food Laios likes to take him somewhere special but they’re both equally unaware of the other’s scheme.
Just thought of something from the idea of Laios and Chilchuck married before main story events how would Izutsumi react?
Like she just found it her honorary dad is with the dumbass blonde who forgets basic manners but remembers every monster fact and little detail possible about monsters.
Sometimes I really wanna draw one of my ships as album or song cover art like you can’t tell me the Ikanaide cover art wouldn’t pop off as ship art but then I realize i actually have to pick up my pencil unfortunately
Band AU Laios, Chilchuck, and Toshiro forced to go through a moe outing trip to go visit a port town a few train rides away to try to get inspiration for a new song or two.
Chilchuck ends up sharing a bed with Laios to not disturb Toshiro who seemed tired but instead accidentally cockblocks him since Toshiro wanted to share a bed with Laios.
Laios is just happy he can hug something as he sleeps as I think he’d have a million plushies of different monsters and animals and reads them bedtime stories that are just monster encyclopedias that every time they get something wrong Laios just raises an eyebrow at his plushies before going back to reading.
Even more thoughts of this AU Huzzah. Anyways now with other characters, I like the thought of Laios and Chilchuck mostly being a duo act together for a long while before anyone else joins them to help, like Tade who one time when accompanying Izutsumi to the Touden’s place to hang out over heard both Laios and Chilchuck recognizing their music as she would listen to what they would upload online from time to time and becoming an honorary member helping them with social media and posting their music properly, helping them connect a bit more with modern audiences as Laios and Chilchuck don’t seem the kind to have socials or have shell accounts just to follow family, and Tade would be a good drummer.
And Toshiro who most likely trying to impress Falin learnt how to play Bass but wasn’t allowed to join her or Marcille’s band because Marcille didn’t like him. So he stopped playing for a while before one day had seen a post by Tade with her, Laios, and Chilchuck in it just promoting a new song and after a while of contemplating decided to ask Laios if he could be the bassist to his group which he said sure on after consulting Chilchuck who basically started living with him full time.
Thinking about modern band Au Laios. I feel that Laios compared to the others like Falin and Marcille who I think would be in their own possibly with other members like Izutsumi. He’d be something like idk more on the lines of Liana Flores or Mitski in a sense having more lullaby type of singing preferring not to join Flain and Marcille as they’re the types to deal with large groups instead staying to his own playing the synth making music on his own in his dump of an apartment he and Falin live in while she goes to college or something.
Chilchuck would probably be in a similar vain as a half foot being more sensitive to loud noise so he probably while working with Laios one day hears him singing a soft melody and joins him as he at one point also did music in an underground group playing the acoustic guitar and electric guitar.

I like to think as Chilaios modern AU as semi parental figures with Izutsumi like she primarily lives with Senshi but drops by their place from to time or just cause she’s bored and will just lay on top of them while they’re trying to go to bed but they don’t mind as long as she isn’t placing her feet on either of them
Chilaios modern au where they’re getting married but only invited people like a week or so before the day and almost no one else knew they where together so it’s just a week of people scrambling to get a gift especially those who prefer to be more elaborate and most confused as hell the only people who really knew beforehand being Falin who thought they where obvious, Senshi who’s head cook, and Izutsumi who dgaf
Chilchuck in modern AUs all I can think of his him the being the one getting hit by cars literally no matter the occasion he’s the one getting hit by cars and every times he’s just in the pack of a car when Laois has to take care of him he deals with Laois and Falin taking like 3 hours to order fast food
Chilchuck and Laios at a fair and cause of Chilchuck’s height they can’t go on most rides but Laios dgaf since he’s just there for the food so the entire time it’s them walking around watching Laios eat the worst creations of mankind and Chil’s just standing there like “this is what I’m spending the rest of my days with” smiling like an idiot
As much as I love seeing people gush over chilaios/laichil I feel like the more fluff side of the ship isn’t invested into apart from smut cause like them being domestic or just plain out being a couple apart from sex can be such a good source of ideas like how they around way other and with others present it makes me so ｡ (ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡
I need someone to make a Chilaios fic where they got married before hand of the main story or whatever and Just never told anyone so once the party’s like around chapter 37 when they meet up with the other parties for the first time they all just find out from a passing comment
