Yes the OP had a pithy message but I've got a one-track mind rn:
I know there are people who don't think Brad Dourif is hot, but I've only talked to one and their resolve crumbled in the face of the Istanbul (1985) car scene
There are lots more Pretty Moments in there, but Istanbul (1985) car scene is burned into my brain matter like the indelible brand of Cain
no one is immune.
(btw this movie is very upsetting please watch at your own risk)
There was this guy in the 1800s - I can't remember his name, but his name is recorded somewhere - who honestly argued that if given the choice between a beautiful woman and a heron, deep down in their most earnest true heart, every man would rather fuck the heron. And he got mad when people denied this, continuing to deny this what he had decided must be an universal truth, instead of praising him for being the only one who was brave enough to finally say it out loud. Like he really thought that every single person telling him "Jesse what the hell are you talking about" was not only denying him, but denying themselves their true desires and perpetuating the apparently massive cultural lie that herons aren't fuckable.
Anyway what I'm saying here is that every once in a while whenever you find yourself in a situation where nobody else is willing to agree with something that you consider the most obvious truth, take a moment to meditate on the possibility that perhaps they do mean what they say, and perhaps they are right. Maybe nobody else but you wants to fuck the heron.
...I put the protagonist guy in and it's so much better.
Ouf, I had to actually draw someone I'm not attracted to... is this what they meant about suffering for one's art 😔

when bae is so beautiful you have to immediately TKO them on the pool table 🥵
Still wringing every drop of creative energy from this Dourif fixation 💞
Tried my hand at rotoscoping this mesmerizing Miami Vice gif (from this set by @exdeputysonso):
The scornful, slouchy staredown here really gets me thinking some special thoughts. And he's doing the thing where he gets all up in someone's face, eyes drilling into theirs from inches away — which by all reports is very truly menacing, but even so...
Then there's that beautifully sleazy little outfit with the shirt and chains... I'm so weak for a well-formed neck and décolletage. (The clothes they put him in really are second to none, including ridiculous loungewear and an iconic courtroom ensemble; see this other gifset for more)
There's an added air of threat from the tiny pupils, which really brings out the cold blue in his eyes, amped up by the matching shirt.
Dropping a few individual frames below the cut...
(He looks a bit cross-eyed because he's focusing on the guy's face like 6 inches away)

Brad Dourif in Millennium - S1.E13 (1997)
When I was first scrounging around for Bradthirst material, I came across these pieces by @anonmarleighdourif (humanpincushion on DeviantArt). They have an incredible talent for capturing his likeness, especially the eyes.
So lush, these are a huge inspiration for me. I just want to stare at them all day long.
He is just . . . the epitome of sexy.
that's what it stands for. i dont make the rules
...
...oh god i have so many more of these. pt 2 later maybe

Upgraded the quality on this one, it's still stupid but at least it looks better 💯💯💯
Suffer with me.
Back on my bullshit 🐀
Another practice piece with a Brad Dourif character (Graveyard Shift exterminator Tucker Cleveland) by way of classical art (Perseus with the Head of Medusa, yeah I know, but it's still kind of a hot statue).
I love his look so much in this movie, and especially this saucy little pirouette he does in Warwick's office.
The leaning pose brings out an androgyny in the character that I find maddeningly attractive. The hair, the loose collar, the play of light on the dangly earring — all highlight the slender lines of his neck, and the pretty divot at the bottom, picked out by the backlighting. The character's chewing tobacco habit shapes his mouth in a distinctive way that, with those downcast eyelashes, make me wish I were Warwick sitting on that desk. (At least, until the spitting...)
Sweet Jesus, get the spray bottle.
Previously in this series: X-Files x Saint Sebastian and Spontaneous Combustion x Hot Satan! I've made some updates, so maybe they'll all return together soon.
Cypress Edge is a bad movie and you should watch it. They tie him up too 😉
he's very anime boy

Oh damn, I think your posts are why I started drawing Brad Dourif characters as religious art guys! By the time I got anywhere with it, I guess I forgot. Thanks for the inspiration 😘
Draw your babygirl like Satan, Lord of the Damned!
(tbh tho isn't Lucifer just, like, one of the original babygirls anyway??)
Fallen Angel by Alexandre Cabanel (1847)
Satan Summoning His Legions by Sir Thomas Lawrence (1797)
Le génie du mal by Guillaume Geefs (1848) (Original Version)
Le génie du mal by Guillaume Geefs (1848) (Revised Version)
Fuente del Ángel Caído by Ricardo Bellver (1877)
Lucifer by Roberto Ferri (1978- )
The Son of the Morning by Roberto Ferri (1978- )
Woof, what a hottie... Brad Dourif's character, Sam Kramer aka David Bell, from Spontaneous Combustion (1990). Aka, little orphan boy.
WIP: I have a bunch more ideas for this, but I'm happy with this stopping point. Probably because I've already drawn all the fun nakey bits
Loosely based on Hot Satan, aka Guillaume Geefs' Le génie du mal: that thing where the church commissioned a guy to sculpt Satan, but he was too hot! So they got his brother to sculpt a second Satan, but it was EVEN HOTTER 😩🔥
I also did this Spontaneous Combustion music video you might enjoy
Some choice quotes from the sculpture's Wikipedia page:
-> Geefs' work replaces an earlier sculpture created for the space by his younger brother Joseph Geefs, L'ange du mal, which was removed from the cathedral because of its distracting allure and "unhealthy beauty".
-> (About the first one) The cathedral administration declared that "this devil is too sublime." The local press intimated that the work was distracting the "pretty penitent girls" who should have been listening to the sermons. ... A languid scarf skims the groin, the hips are bared, and the open thighs form an avenue that leads to shadow ... L'ange du mal has been called "one of the most disturbing works of its time."
-> Whether Guillaume succeeded in removing the "seductive" elements may be a matter of individual perception.
Slow day... dropping this Brad Dourif chaos compilation back in the Enclosure
YouTube poster Abbi, you are a legend. Recently rediscovered this and lost my shit all over again
"#brad has so many side characters but even his lead roles are far too underappreciated" <- you're so right for this OP, Tucker Cleveland deserved so much more attention. And screen time. And a prequel!
But hey, we are raising awareness so maybe he will get further in the next poll...
Also lol I just made another one of these too 🤣 reblogging them together so I don't overload the dash.
again made with the Brad Dourif meme generator by @first-class-feral !
Sound on!
Obsessed with this Progeny interview posted by @exdeputysonso (here) and gif'd by @tallaxia (here). He is. intolerably cute
This man was forty eight whole years old but he acts like a shy kid giving a book report — the sidelong gaze, the interlaced fingers, the halting speech, the mm-hmms, the look up and deep inhale while assembling a response, the politeness (in the original you can see where he stopped himself from saying scared the shit out of me)...
wrapped up in a deep, sedate tone of voice that's incredibly calming and warm and cozy, like a cream-colored, cable-knit sweater vest. 💞

Couldn't resist sketching this awful X-Files prettyboy as Saint Sebastian! The pose reference is from Yukio Mishima posing for Kishin Shinoyama, plus bits from this photoset.

What in the world is this from! I’ve never seen it, but LOOK at that haircut and dreamy lil smile.
VALIDATION!! THis is what I’m TALKIN about, Jack and Raimi totally had Vibes. I gave them a moment in my Death Machine music video and knowing that he CHOSE to push Brad against the wall with that finger on his mouth is giving me the absolute vapors.
