reasons why the princess diaries 2 is actually the best movie ever made

ok so i know that when we were all young fanchildren we all watched this movie and sighed dreamily. but i am here to tell u that this movie is even better than u remember

1. the main conflict in the movie is the arranged marriage. i’m gonna stop right here, because princesses in arranged marriages are a classic fanfiction trope that we are all trash for. don’t lie to yourself. but it gets BETTER. not only is there an arranged marriage… the guy she’s arranged to marry is actually a really chill dude. u like this dude. u know they would be good friends and partners. he would make a good king. but sHE DOESNT LOVE HIM!!! she doesn’t love him. and it would be so easy for the narrative to say ~oh look at this selfish girl she has a handsome titled good man ready to marry her she’s so SELFISH for wanting passion and true love, so naive~ (see fuckboys: i’m so nice and handsome why doesn’t she love me she’s horrible) instead the narrative presents her not marrying him as a perfectly valid choice and one the viewer sides with her on. the narrative supports her choice and makes it clear it was the right decision. ADDITIONALLY, the solution presented to fix the arranged marriage problem is to DESTROY THE PATRIARCHY. like???? don’t fuck with me this movie is perfect

2. literally the other main conflict is the love interest. he’s essentially a conman trying to convince mia to fall passionately in love with him so he can steal the throne. but along the way… he falls in love with her. THIS IS LITERALLY THE PLOT OF THREE THOUSAND FANFICTIONS PEOPLE

3. speaking of fanfiction…this movie is one. like, i’m not even joking. the first princess diaries movie essentially compiled the first 3 books into a movie, but the sequel wasn’t based on the books at all. disney just pulled something out of their asses and was like “this will make the fangirls happy”

4. at the beginning of the movie mia graduates from princeton’s woodrow wilson school of international affairs… literally one of the best international studies programs on the planet.. then she’s flown to a castle…where she’s a princess..and has hot men falling all over her…and wears ballgowns…like…mia is such a mary sue but somehow the movie manages to avoid making her one AT ALL

5. also holy shit??! mia doesn’t just stand around looking pretty as a princess.. she’s clearly really smart and genuinely cares about the people of genovia and does her best to serve them well even to it’s hard work… like damn mia is fucking committed to being a good queen she’s not just a princess because castles make good backdrops for romances

6. the queen/joe YAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS u fucking know u shipped that shit

7. THE ENTIRE MOVIE IS ABOUT FUCKING THE PATRIARCHY. MIA IS PORTRAYED AS KIND AND SENSITIVE BUT THAT ADDS TO HER APPEAL AS A RULER NOT DETRACTS FROM IT. AT THE END OF THE MOVIE SHE’S LIKE “fuck these rules written by old white men, i’m gonna make my own less sexist rules” AND THEN SHE FUCKING DOES?!? SHE FUCKING CALLS OUT THE SEXISM OF THE LAWS AND THEN CHANGES THEM. HELLO WOMEN IN PARLIAMENT! GOODBYE BOYS CLUBS! A WOMAN IS FULLY CAPABLE OF RULING ON HER OWN WITHOUT A MAN AND SHE FUCKING DRILLS THAT INTO THEIR GODDAMN HEADS

8. chris pine. what a hot piece of ass amiright

9. the number of times something fucking bizarre happens to mia and she theoretically looks into the camera like she’s on the office is comedic gold honestly. the maids?? flirting with her arranged husband?? climbing out a window?? the fAKE LEG!? mia is just trying to live her life but the universe keeps fucking it up. i feel u mia.

in sum i have n o idea how the fuck this movie got made but goddamn is it not god’s gift to man

Future reference for anyone who wants to draw the protagonist of slay the princess

Bits and parts of the protagonist body I gathered, might update it if I found anything else

There will be spoilers&gore

You ready?

Ok

Usually we only see the arm and the mirror, I brightened it up so we can see clearly

Future Reference For Anyone Who Wants To Draw The Protagonist Of Slay The Princess

Our protagonist got wings! FOUR of them! Made me kinda wonder why they haven't use it, maybe it's because they didn't know? But they also acknowledge their feathers and claws so I'm not sure.

Future Reference For Anyone Who Wants To Draw The Protagonist Of Slay The Princess

Next is feet (Wraith route) . They have webs, and their feathers extend to their knee.

Future Reference For Anyone Who Wants To Draw The Protagonist Of Slay The Princess

This is from the adversary route where your face get yeet off. The triangle is the beak, at least I think so?

2023/12/15 update:

It is confirmed by the developer that the protagonist has a beak and he also does not have a beak because he and the princess's nature is paradox

And a bunch of organs :)

I think that the protagonist have grey skin? At least that's what I get from Fury, but than again most of the game is grey scaled.

If you guys found anything interesting, please do tell me to add to the list!

I don't think I'll ever get over the fact that there were hundreds of people in attendance when Ozai burned Zuko. Like... they were watching a grown man mutilate his 13-year-old son. They were practically witnessing a murder attempt. And I just can't help but wonder what they thought and felt at that moment...

This always got to me. Zuko’s trauma runs so deep. People just kind of see it as this one incident, but it was so severe. Ozai took a little, wide-eyed, optimistic, loving, kind boy– his own son, and mutilated him in public. He intentionally humiliated him. He brought him out in front of all of the noble people to add humiliation, watched him grovel and sob and beg in front of hundreds. He mutilated him, caused him unfathomable physical pain that would have any human hospitalized for months– months. A burn like that can kill you. It was so serious.

The emotional trauma from that would haunt anyone for their entire lives. That would give so many PTSD, even, I’m sure. That was so targeted and calculated and fucked up, and it’s so disgusting and sick how that was only the tip of the iceberg of what Ozai did to Zuko. He groomed him to think he was worthless. It was all so disgusting. Zuko deserves so much love omfg. Katara would hate him so much.

Mai only directly supports him, though. She calls Zuko a traitor in Boiling Rock for standing against him in DOBS and she indirectly helps Ozai try to reclaim the throne in the comics.

Disgusting.

“A hero is a person or character who is admired for their courage, achievements, noble qualities, who looks fear in the eyes and doesn’t even blink.”

That is the quote I saw on the wall of my sixth grade students classroom today. I strongly disagree.

All humans have hesitated. It’s instinct. It’s vital. It’s as strong as your heart beating. It is the culmination of thousands of years of survival. Hesitation is a universal experience.

Therefore, a hero always “blinks.” That ‘blink’ is the moment that human beings realize what they are doing. That singular defining moment that changes the gravity of the situation. The exact second that the given circumstances could produce a hero if the right choices are made.

Humans program robots. Robots don’t blink. If a robot were to walk through a path of throwing knives without blinking, would it be a hero? No, of course not. But by the first definition, they technically would be. The reasoning as to why they aren’t? Because the robot faces no repercussions. The robot has no risk. The robot has no real understanding of the danger, nor have they been forced to confront the facts of what they are up against.

That's where we come to our hero blinking. In order to be a hero, you must blink. You must have a moment to see the horrors that all logic would tell to run. Because it’s in that blink that the hero confronts the danger they put themselves in, and pushes forth anyways. That is what makes a hero. To have that shackling sensation of hesitation, and where most others would turn back, they trailblaze on. They trailblaze on anyway.

So here I propose a new definition:

“A hero is a person or character who is admired for their courage, achievements, and noble qualities, who looks fear in the eyes, blinks, and despite facing the world’s darkness, chooses to continue being the world’s light.”

I know the idea of Winnie the Pooh characters representing mental illness is overdone to death, but I can't help but be intrigued by it. What if the reason everyone display these symptoms is because they were specifically created to hold onto them?

What if Christopher Robin has Dissociative Identity Disorder or Otherwise Specified Dissociative Disorder?

What if, to cope with severe parental neglect, his brain created a world of people who would love him unconditionally?

Disclaimer: This is for a fictional interpretation of Christopher Robin, not the real person. This is based on the Disney version of the stories. Also, this idea is for entertainment purposes only, so artistic liberties are made.

--

We start with Roo and Kanga, who are the classic mother and son archetype.

Roo represents the person Christopher wants to be in real life. He wants to be curious, bold, and michevious, but he also wants to be nurtured.

Essentially, Roo's a child alter meant to hold onto Christopher's innocence. Kanga exists to be Roo's, as well as everyone else's, caretaker and soother. She represents the mother figure Christopher wishes he had in the outer world.

Next, Tigger holds onto Christopher's ADHD/autism symptoms, as well as his desire to stim openly.

In the outer world, Christopher is severely stifled and is not allowed to express these traits to people. Therefore, they are passed on to Tigger to hold onto. Tigger is very rambunctious and carefree.

However, his desire to find other Tiggers and his catchphrase of "being the only one" represents the loneliness Christopher feels because of his neurodiversity. He wants to be proud of being unique, but really, he feels alone.

Furthermore, characters like Piglet, Rabbit, and Pooh are all symptoms holders as well.

Piglet holds onto anixety. Additionally, he holds onto Christopher's feelings of being overlooked and underappreciated. Meanwhile, Rabbit holds onto perfectionism and an obsession for order.

Due to being raised in a strict environment, Christopher feels immense pressure to live up to the high expectations of society. Thus, Rabbit and Piglet are high-strung because that's how Christopher feels in his day to day life. Rabbit also represents the limitations society puts onto Christopher, which is why he is so judgemental.

Similarly, Eeyore holds onto Christopher's traits depression and isolation. He feels left out even among the other alters because he is inherently created to be an outcast.

Eeyore's desire for a tail stems from a longing to be "normal." Just as Eeyore thinks a tail will make him happier and more accepted by his peers, Christopher thinks that "masking" will do the same. In reality, what they want will always be out of reach. Perhaps temporary, but never permanent.

Owl is a factive based on Christopher's teachers, presenting as a mentor to the other alters. Yet, his lessons are confusing and nonsensical to the audience because Christopher's own struggle with school.

Owl also holds onto Christopher's dyslexia and learning disabilities, concealed by a false sense of ego and bravado. The same type of attitude that Christopher's teachers presents on a daily basis.

I Know The Idea Of Winnie The Pooh Characters Representing Mental Illness Is Overdone To Death, But I

Lastly, Winnie also holds onto Christopher's autistic symptoms. While everyone displays these traits, Tigger and Winnie hold onto the "least socially acceptable" qualities. Hence why Rabbit often has conflict with them.

Winnie and Tigger lack social awareness, are blunt, and can accidentally hurt the others due to misunderstanding their body language and facial language.

On a different note, Winnie is obsessed with honey, which represents Christopher's desire to overeat in real life. This is a coping mechanism for his isolation, and later on, the ongoing stress of boarding school.

I Know The Idea Of Winnie The Pooh Characters Representing Mental Illness Is Overdone To Death, But I
I Know The Idea Of Winnie The Pooh Characters Representing Mental Illness Is Overdone To Death, But I

Overall, the Winnie the Pooh cast are alters created to hold onto traits that Christopher can't express in the outer world. The Hundred Acre Woods acts as an inner world for the alters and Christopher to escape the daily stress of life.

Unfortunately for Christopher, the demands of boarding school leave him unable to visit most of the time. However, he can still watch their misadventures from the outside.

Additionally, the various stories of Winnie the Pooh represent changes in his life, as well as actual events in the outer world.

Tigger's movie represents Christopher wanting a family that is neurodivergent but finding solace in his alters. On the other hand, Piglet's movie showcases Christopher feeling like an outcast that is taken for granted and once again finding solace in his alters. And so on, so forth.

In the end, Christopher is forced to suppress his alters, so they are permanently trapped in the Hundred Acre Woods, always yearning for their host. They have no idea what lies beyond their home because they have never known anything else. And they never will.

I have a theory about Yellow Guy

In the 6th episode, Electricity, we see Yellow Guy go up those stairs, right? It’s even suggested he has been up there before - but hear me out. What if he and Lesley were always up there in the attic to begin with? Here’s my evidence: Yellow guy is shown to have undeniable intelligence when he is fitted with new batteries. His previous ones were old and “moldy”, so that suggested he never changed them. This also suggests that there was a time he had fresh batteries and this was not the first time he had acquired this ‘intelligent’ state. This could imply that as time went on, as the battery ran out, his intelligence started to deteriorate, and so did his memory. This also makes me believe that the “Big Boys Room” and the “Bigger Boys Room” were used to accommodate Yellow Guy’s mind. The higher the levels, the more ‘smarter’ they were, which makes me believe that as Yellow Guy grew ‘less smart’, he moved down each levels, going from Lesley, to the Bigger Boys Room, to the Big Boys room, and finally to the ground floor with the trio we all know and love. Adding onto that, did you notice that Yellow Guy was absent from these rooms? Red Guy and Duck was there, sure, but they seem to recognize Yellow Guy as a returning character. They even say he’s “Missing out” and he has to “Keep up”, which could suggest he had been away for a long time (due to his intelligence diminishing as prior mentioned). Lesley mentions that they are all replaceable, and that she “has plenty of backups”. But if that was the case, why is there multiple Red Guys and Ducks and only one Yellow Guy? This is here where we continue to theorize so buckle up. Lesley and Yellow Guy are obviously linked. With several evidence of Yellow Guy being Lesley’s son, David (Her saying “you’re not my real son”, Yellow Guy’s dream scene in the episode “Transport”, the photos Duck has in the episode “Family” etc. etc.) we can already see she has an attachment to him. There is also evidence that she is not the one in full control, with her felt like appearance and the fact that when we first see her, she states,

“Batteries can be replaced,

but some things stay the same.

No matter how we twist and turn,

we're still dancing in chains."

The first line is an obvious callback to Yellow Guy’s situation: unlike the other puppets of the trio, he requires batteries to function. Or at least, think freely for himself. Kind of like a toy. But he himself is not replaceable. That’s why the other levels do not have a Yellow Guy. So he “never changes”. But Lesley continues, using the inclusive pronoun, “we”, to suggest that he and Lesley are in the same position: Trapped as puppeteers for a greater being. Both of them had been in discomfort, fighting for independent control, suggested by the phrase “twist and turns” showing constant change of path, creating a sense of restlessness. But at the end of the day, both of them were still puppets “in chains”. When Yellow Guy leaves the ‘highest’ floor, it is shown that there are more stairs, which hints there being more ‘intelligent’ beings, possibly the puppeteers (aka the producers of the show and Roy as shown by ending credits). This could probably answer the question on why Lesley had the book (which has been widely believed to be their escape plan) that Yellow Guy had written in his own language and gives the show a lot more lore.

So my conclusion? Yellow Guy and Lesley used to conspire how to escape the puppet universe together in order to break free, but due to negligence on changing batteries, Yellow Guy was eventually used just as just a puppet for Lesley to replace her lost son and as a form of entertainment to preserve the memory of David, while Yellow Guy permanently loses his memories, succumbing to the inevitable fate of becoming a puppet more the wider audience.

The different religions are the variations of shippers

I don't know if this makes sense to anyone else, but in my head, it makes a lot of sense. Sorry it's so long, and for the bad english, it's not my first, or second, language

I'M NOT SAYING THAT ALL PEOPLE WHO PRACTISE THESE RELIGIONS ARE LIKE THIS OR SHIP THESE SHIPS, IT'S JUST FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

Christianity (both catolicism and orthodoxy) - the people who ship the straight canon ship of the series. On every type of platform, you can find at least one person who roots for them and actively supports and defends it. Most of these types of people are very offended when someone doesn't ship it and starts to A. Start defending its honore stating that since it's canon, it's the only valid ship. Or B. Threaten the person who doesn't ship it. Anyone who has something bad to say about this ship is deemed a hater and is ostracized from the community. Because the ship has a lot of shippers, some interpret the ship in other ways, which creates tension inside the community, so generally, there are two sides of the ship, with different fancanons and interpretations.

Muslimness- people who ship the "problematic" ship. The ship isn't actually problematic and can be very wholesome if you look at the actual story, but someone at some point did something problematic with these characters or was just a very vocal shipper who did something bad (like that comic of Childe and Ganyu) and now every person who even barely supports it is deemed problematical and a bad person. Receive unreserved hate and are attacked a lot for something they didn't do.

Buddhism ( I don't know a lot about buddhism, so I'm sorry if I get it wrong)- people who ship the side pairing. They are just along for the ride, and even though they don't get as much screen time and attention from the fan base, as the main ship. They just enjoy it as it is, creat fanart and other things in peace, and generally don't get in a lot of debates even when people attack them.

Paganism - the multi-shippers. They don't understand the need for ship wars and drama surrounding one ship becoming canon while another doesn't. In both scenarios, a ship they like gets attention, so a win-win situation. Some do have OTPs and are even happier when they become canon or get attention, but aren't super sad if they don't. Over all they just enjoy creating fan art , but sometimes someone will start attacking them for "betraying" one ship for another and accusing them of all sorts of things, like liking pro-ships or other problematic ships. In some cases, it may be true, but generally, it's total bullsh*t.

Atheists - people who don't ship. They either don't get the need for romance or just don't see the appeal in it. They may get attacked for this, but they honestly couldn't care less for ships. Some are very rude and say stuff to people who do support ships, canon or not, that it's pointless and disgusting to ship fictional characters and a lot of other mean stuff.

Old religions/small religions - people who ship the rare pairs. Not a lot of content, but they appreciate every piece. Some ships are more popular than others, of course, but are generally pretty obscure with a lot of fanon interpretations to make up for the lack of it in canon. Some of the more popular ships will try to erase any content the ship does have or twist it to make it problematic, platonic, or centred around their ship.

Not sure for the other religions or types of shippers, if you have any thoughts or corrections please say them without insults.

This post came by when I was explaining what being a pagan means to a frien, and I used being a multi-shipper as a comparison, and it spiralled from there.

Yes, I am pagan, but I was raised as an orthodoxy christian, so I'm sorry if I got anything wrong for the other religions.

The Spinning Wheel and Suitcase

So silly post about Vertin's name has me rethinking early game stuff (yippee)

Thinking about how the disk wasnt probably talking to the player but Vertin about her name.

Then.

What about the line when you first spin the wheel? Something along the lines of "spin the wheel as you have done many times before"

Again maybe we all assume its the player in a meta sense they are referring to but I lean towards the voice is asking to Vertin (again someone talking to her not an in-game instruction)

What do you mean "as you have done before", I mean Vertin does imply prior to the Prologue she never went outside of the lobby area to the Wilderness until then, probably even less time inside of the suitcase since she mentions she had to discover its capabilities over time and still is.

People already have theorised the multiple timelines stuff but I wont rehash here - the main thing Im looking at is the "again". Does that mean Vertin has spun the wheel before? Shes not seem entirely familiar with it when we see it in the Prologue.

Again who was the original owner of the suitcase? The Foundation wanting to test it in Book 4 shows they did not necessarily create it. If Vertin was given it then the Foundation at least knew the role of Timekeeper needed this suitcase for whatever reason. Was it her mother? The incantation is in Esperanto so maybe?

(You think sometimes Vertin spins the wheel in hope someone reversed may show up?)

(Its also interesting she is the only one immune to the water's effects, and the water is implied to have properties of the Storm - probably the only true place Vertin can be alone in)

Im running with the assumption its her mother's and maybe it was agreed since the Foundation probably had contact with her mother (I mean Vertin was found there) that Vertin when she was "ready" (Breakaway Incident "ready") she would receive the suitcase and be given the incantation.

so I finally read the Adam and Eve story for myself and I have some SHIT TO SAY.

So I finally read the Adam and Eve story for myself and I have some SHIT TO SAY. I stumbled upon it while researching the Greek creation myth, you can read it for yourself here.

First off, I feel the story of Adam and Eve, aka Genesis 3, is less about the consequences of disobedience and more about challenging authority and the risks that come with it. God told Adam and Eve that they would die if they ate from the Tree of Knowledge, but we know that wasn't necessarily true, showing fear-mongering in order to threaten believers into doing things. The serpent encouraged Eve to eat from the tree anyways, to which she was hesitant.

She was hesitant because the only thing she KNEW was God's word. Eve knew nothing but what God had told her, and she mainly didn't really have a choice in the matter. The serpent was trying to tell her that yes, she DOES have a choice, and she doesn't have to follow God's word all the time. It even said: 'For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.' God was lying to them, and the serpent was only giving her the glory of choice.

So Eve took the serpent's word and ate from the Tree of Knowledge. She even encouraged Adam to eat the fruit as well- on his own coalition and will! Both of them gained knowledge and feeling and the ability to distinguish right from wrong on their own. they grew as people; they no longer needed God to make choices for them, which should be an advancement.

When God saw that they knew more than HE thought they should, he immediately got mad and punished them. and how did God punish Eve, who was the first human in the world to realize her will? He stripped her of her free will, making her a slave to a man and bringing her pain. the serpent, the one who brought upon these lights, was put to death, and Adam, who should've gotten a punishment just as fitting as Eve's, was actually rewarded with the gift of agriculture. It's used to teach me that rebellion is an evil thing but in actuality I've learned how society punishes the ones who know they are corrupt.

I talked with my friend about this, and they also brought up some good points:

"[Eve] was a woman who was sheltered by care and love and when she finally rebelled and decided to think for herself, she was punished for it. Didn't help that she was lied to."

"HE TOLD ADAM 'HEY THAT'S THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL DON'T EAT THE FRUIT' AND HE JUST TOLD EVE 'HEY YOU SEE THAT TREE THERE? YEAH DON'T EAT FROM IT.' DIDN'T TELL HER WHY!!!!" [in all caps because we were getting heated on this topic]

"It's a perfect model of the lack of respect we've had for women since the dawn of creation."

To be honest, I find it quite ironic that the story of Adam and Eve, the third story of the Bible, tells us just how the Roman Catholic Church (and how some churches still) treat the people who saw through their lies and wanted to know more about the world, away from God. And yet they still pass it around as a warning about the pursuit of hidden knowledge when they are the ones hiding this knowledge themselves.

This has been a rant.

You Will Be Okay.

You will be okay.

I see a lot of people talking about the Mad Men finale in a cynical sense. They see it as the punch-line culminating from seven years of build-up; one of the longest, cruelest shaggy dog jokes ever told. Without sounding too stand-offish, I think this is absolutely the wrong way to view the finale and that is does a great disservice not so much to the writers or the show itself, but to Don.

The ending is one that is immediately a little polarising, but once given time to digest most people agree that it really does just click. The reading I’m so opposed to is the idea that “after all that Don just made an ad! Haha! People never change” in regards to the series ending with the iconic Hilltop Coke ad, after Don has a huge emotional breakthrough.

The thing is, to take this view (like many people have, from random tumblr users to Wired), you have to completely ignore the kind of man Don is. The question of Don’s character has been at the centre of the show since it’s very first season, and has been examined in so many ways that it makes the conversation hard to ever really finish, and harder still to begin. However, there is one thing about Don that I will always believe, that has been supported by the show since the very beginning;

Don is a man who believes in a pure ideology. He wants to connect with people and he wants the best for them.

Now, does this mean Don is morally sound? No, he’s actually anything but. He cheats on his spouses, he’s not really a great Dad and he is prone to being unreliable. Despite all that, Don beliefs have always been idealistic, lofty and sincere. That is what makes the character so wonderful to talk about, and at the same time makes him so incredibly tragic: he is a man whose weaknesses constantly betray his own morality.

Don may be cynical, but he really, really doesn’t want to be. Rachel calls him on this way, way back in season one, when he gives his “born alone, die alone” speech. She see’s through it immediately, and it catches him off guard. One of the things I’ve always adored about the show is its incredible level of humanity, and even seemingly casual interactions can be incredibly powerful character moments when this is properly utilised.

This lack of cynicism goes doubly for advertising. Think about it; how many times has he brow-beaten Peggy (and everyone else who works under him) for being phony in her work? For not being sincere?

Don doesn’t want to sell you a product; he wants to sell you a feeling that he associates with a product. Why is Don so passionate about this? Why is this what Don wants to sell? Simply put, it’s because it’s a way to connect. Connection has always been what Don has ached for.

Why did Don leave his new place of employment? Well, because he didn’t belong there. That was a place where Ivy League ad gurus sat around a table and talked about the demographic they were after while taking notes like they were studying for an exam. It was a place where the product they were selling was their ability to sell a product.

This not the place for Don. Don, who used his own life and pain to demonstrate the value of the carousel. This is the man whose first experience with love was being given a Hershey bar, which he would eat alone in his room and pretend to be normal. Maybe this is sad to you, but to Don it’s real.

With this in mind; think about what the Coke ad Don apparently creates is about; a collection of people, of all genders, races and ages, united together by a common product. This is the image Don envisions for a product that, hand to God, used to have vending machines that said “White Customers Only” (that’s right, Coke had honour-based racist vending machines). A product that isn’t even mentioned until 20 seconds into the commercial. What Don wants to sell you is the feeling that when you sit down and drink a Coke, you’re drinking it with a million other people all over the world. There’s a reason it’s the most successful commercial of all time. It may look schmaltzy, cheap or silly today, but at the time it was something people genuinely wanted to hear. Don doesn’t want you to know how great this sugar water tastes, he doesn’t want you to know that it’s better than a competing brand, or even cheaper; he wants you to feel what he feels.

And what did he feel? Well, his epiphany in that episode came when Leonard, seemingly the opposite of Don, gave a speech that rocked Don to his core. He told a story of loneliness, or worthlessness and of the desire to be loved. And Don understood. So much so that he hugged this man, who he had never met, and wept. He knew the answer to the question he repeatedly asked Peggy only a few episodes ago. Don wants to sit down with the world and buy it a Coke. It’s really what he’s always wanted.

Mad Men was always a show about introspection. To think that the show’s final moments wouldn’t reflect this is an incredible oversight, and to think that Don changes for the worse in the very last moments of the show is doing him a huge disservice.

The Hilltop ad is about empathy. It is Don, realising that not only is he not special, but neither are his worries. The way Jon Hamm played the scene supports this; he realises who he is. He is an ad man, he is a human being, who wants to connect to other human beings, and that want is ubiquitous. Don does not just “come up with a great ad”, because ads were never that cheap to him. He finds a way to communicate the feeling of profound empathy he felt the previous day, when he and Leonard were both people, together, in the only way he knows how; an ad.

Advertising is based on one thing: happiness. And do you know what happiness is? Happiness is the smell of a new car. It's freedom from fear. It's a billboard on the side of a road that screams with reassurance that whatever you're doing is Okay. You are Okay.

Goodbye to one of the greatest shows of all time, and thank you for the beautiful send-off. You are not alone. You will be okay.

there’s something about this scene in murder drones that really fucks with me when I think about it

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

—long post and murder drones ep 7 spoilers below—

So for a short recap of what happened up till this point, Tessa told N that Earth imploded, to keep the former a secret from Uzi, escaped from whatever the fuck happened in Ep 6 and V sacrificed herself so the rest of them could continue exploring Cabin Fever Labs and not be brutally torn apart by the sentinels.

N’s not having a good time to put it lightly.

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

He’s in the aftermath of V’s sacrifice and N’s look of just pure despair here says more than I could ever try to put into words.

He’s in shock, he’s concerned and scared and his mind must be working overtime trying to process what just happened.

V may be dead.

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

Denial or anger or maybe even both comes over him. Even if V and N’s relationship has been messy recently, he still CARES about her and having V sacrifice herself for both his and Uzi’s sake… He just can’t take it.

Impulse takes over as he begins firing at the ruble. V can’t be dead. SHE CAN’T BE DEAD.

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

He yells at Uzi to use her solver so they can get back V. He starts slashing at the ruble with claws because he needs V with him. He isn’t thinking, he’s just blindly attacking because he NEEDS V.

As he continues acting purely on his emotions, Tessa yells at him to watch it and he turns around to see…

“I… don’t think I s-should. I’m sorry, N…”

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

N must feel terrible in this moment. In his inconsideration, he hurt Uzi, one of the people he cares the most about. He might already have lost one of his friends and he doesn’t want lose another. He must feel awful.

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

He tries apologizing, tries deescalating the situation. You can see in his body language here that he’s trying get down to her level, trying to make her feel not uncomfortable with him. He wants to tell her it isn’t her fault, that he lost control of his emotions for a moment and feels deeply sorry for what he just did and-

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

Tessa interrupts him.

Tessa stops him from trying to talk it out with Uzi. Now, I feel like we all know at this point that this isn’t Tessa. This is Cyn wearing Tessa’s skin pretending to be Tessa and on rewatch this scene hits even harder. At this point in the story, Cyn is trying to regain control of N, either by manipulating him or hacking into his software (as seen by a this).

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

And to do that, Cyn has to get N alone and isolated from anyone who might try to intervene.

What Cyn is trying to do by not letting N speak to Uzi is that she’s trying to drive a wrench between the two, and if she succeeds, she can have an obedient murder pet that will eat planets with her. Seeing as neither of her plans worked out, she settled on just killing N, thus the whole “why is Cyn after her own murder pet” thing.

I’m getting ahead of myself, back to the scene itself.

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

This single frame adds so much in such little time its shown. Uzi sees herself bleeding in the reflection of Tessa’s sword, not oil, but blood. As anyone would be in this situation, she’s visibly shocked. Not only does this add another parallel between Doll and Uzi, but it also adds a level of discomfort to Tessa on Uzi’s behalf.

Tessa goes “Uzi, let’s have you sit this one out, eh? Box over there. Robots like boxes, right?” Which is (1. Insensitive and emotionally immature of her. And (2. Cyn trying to get alone with N.

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

Uzi doesn't want anymore of Tessa’s cryptic bullshit and tries to speak up and is yet again, interrupted by Tessa. This time, she’s speaking solely to N. She wants him to speak.

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

As you can see, N does not like being abruptly put on the spot. Taking everything prior into account, we can tell that N doesn’t know what to say. Cyn, FOR THE THIRD TIME THIS SCENE, is forcing that wrench harder down into N and Uzi’s relationship.

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

N is visibly nervous when speaking here. He’s trying to pick his words as carefully as he can under this much stress. He manages to get out “Uzi, there, um, might be some things down here that you don’t want to see.”

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

Uzi isn’t getting the full picture here. N is hiding something from her, which is terrifying for her. What reason would N have to hide anything from her? And Cabin Fever Labs, possibly the only place where Uzi can get answers, “might have things she doesn’t want to see”? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?

N is definitely freaking out because Uzi is freaking out and N doesn’t want to be responsible for anybody freaking out, especially if it’s Uzi.

N isn’t getting the full picture either because “Tessa” is purposefully not giving it to him.

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

N tries assuring Uzi that everything’s going to be alright, that they’re not going to hurt her.

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It
There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

“…Hurt me?”

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

Uzi’s solver activates and it summons a null void. The corridor starts caving in. N reaches a hand out for Uzi to take. She backs away.

There’s Something About This Scene In Murder Drones That Really Fucks With Me When I Think About It

And that ends one of the most emotional one minute and forty two seconds of my life. Yeah, that’s right, everything mentioned here happened in the span of one minute and forty two seconds!

Kuromi And Her Relationship With My Melo Analysis. (◍•ᴗ•◍)

Kuromi and her relationship with My Melo analysis. (◍•ᴗ•◍)

In the show, it's clearly obvious Kuromi despises Melo which is shown with her Kuromi notes. Which is notes of a series of events that Melo has best her.

One of the first ones that we are shown is My melody taking the pickled onion from Kuromi plate because she thought she didn't like them. However, she didn't know Kuromi was actually saving it for last.

So as an audience we can obviously see that they are both at fault.

*:..。o○ ○o。..:*

My Mel for taking the pickled onion without asking for permission and Kuromi for not stating that she was actually saving it. If Kuromi stated that she was saving it for later, a similar situation like this would be avoided.

Whilst you watch the majority of Kuromi flashbacks through the notes, you can see a clear pattern which is My Melody's oblivious.

However there is one Kuromi note flashback that stands out from me (and another one).

*:..。o○ ○o。..:*

This happens in Kuru Shuffle (season 2, I think ep 10).

They are playing a mini version of football (soccer). And Kuromi needs to score a goal to make her team and Melody's team a draw so it would go over time.

However when she was about to score, my melody screamed (she's the goalkeeper) thus left Kuromi in shock and stopped trying to score but to just stare at Melo helping an ant who was about to get hit.

This scene to me illustrates that Kuromi actually cared for Melo and stopped trying to score but she believes that My melody planned this. Because at the end her team kind of blamed her for losing.

Another one is Kuromi is on a class trip to the woods, they were about to leave but she notices that Melo is missing and starts to look for her in the woods. She didn't know my Mel was actually sleeping on the bus and the bus left her whilst she searched for my Melo throughout the night in the woods.

That Kuromi note made me angry that they just left her but it proved that Kuromi does care for My Melody.

˚。⋆୨୧˚ ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆

This made me ponder about Kuromi's character more and her rivalry with My melody. This is because to me, I don't think she actually hates My melody.

If Kuromi really hated my melody she would try to ruin her life, make her feel the same suffering that she feels but most of the time she just shouts at her whilst ranting.

This is most likely to release her frustration on everyone through my melody.

Because most of the time it's the people in Mari land who compares them and state kuromi's flaws (like when she was a main lead in a play and everyone kept gushing on my Melody's character and wondering why my Mel wasn't the lead) and show My melody as pure hearted.

The season finale scene when Kuromi frees herself from dar-chan when Mel was going to lock herself in the wardrobe (which Kuromi wants to do to her) portrays her feelings to My melody.

Kuromi's relationship with my Mel is a never ending cycle, she will keep hating on my melody but won't lock her up. If my Mel is locked away, or dead who's Kuromi going to hate on.

That's why she didn't want my melody to lock herself in the wardrobe bc Kuromi has no one to hate on.

Kuromi is nothing without my melody, her main fact about her is that she hates my melo.

And to shorten it down, Kuromi cares about her but she knows she should hate my Melo bc of her ruining her life (due to the Mari land people keeping on adoring my Mel).

blairbuttercup5 - Sweets

𝐌𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬!

This is onegai my melody universe not hello kitty supercute adventures.

My melody (or often known as My melo) is a cute little bunny from Mariland who is told to stop Kuromi's dark magic.

But how can I describe her personality hmmm

"𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘢 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯' 𝘨𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘵𝘦?"

"𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘧𝘧 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦, 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯' 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨. " ~~~𝘌𝘱𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘥𝘦 28, 𝘪𝘯 𝘒𝘶𝘳𝘶 𝘒𝘶𝘳𝘶 𝘴𝘩𝘶𝘧𝘧𝘭𝘦

Thank you Kuromi:) This doesn't describe her personality a lot but it does convey that she can get anything she wants with her cuteness. However, this could be biased due to Kuromi's long grudge with the latter.

There's moments in the show where My Melo ignores the situation and simply having tea, it's numerous times.

In my opinion, she doesn't even realise the damage it causes people (friends/family) around her. She's basically an air-head.

This can be proved towards Kuromi's notes such as the time when she kept taking off the plaster on Kuromi's bruise. I wont say she completely ruined Kuromi's life though. But it can be shown when she forgets a dream door has been opened.

Although I said My Melody's bad quality, she's really soft and gentle towards practically everyone. Such as screaming when she saw an ant in the middle of the field (when playing that mini football).

Even though she can be clueless, Melody has shown to care deeply for Uta and all of her friends.

𝘌𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘴=

• 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘜𝘵𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢 𝘵𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘳.

•𝘣𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘣𝘪𝘨 𝘣𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘒𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘪

•𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘠𝘶𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘰 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺

𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘺 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘐 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘸.

This is all I gathered after nearly completing the 2 seasons of My Melody.

My opinion of her: She's my favorite character, I can relate with easily forgetting stuff but I do get annoyed when she just drink tea in intense situations but it could be her coping mechanism. I would love to see more angry My melo.

This was my first analysis, sorry if it's bad but thanks for reading!

catradora and the perfect victim complex

(i literally fucking think about this all the time so this just gonna be a rant lol)

i really, truly think that people in general don’t put the effort into understanding characters who are imperfect victims. for them, it destroys the appeal of victimhood. victimhood (especially when the victims in question are girls, women, femme presenting people, etc.) needs to be beautiful and tragic. think characters like ophelia, snow white, odette, juliet, the lisbon sisters. otherwise, their victimhood is no longer attractive.

catra is an imperfect victim. shadow weaver’s abuse did not make her soft, weak, timid, or fragile. it made her bitter, angry, and resentful.

i once saw a catra anti saying some bullshit about how they might’ve liked catra more if the writers had spent more screen time showing shadow weaver abusing her, specifically her when she was a kid.

this person wanted to see catra’s pain as beautiful. they wanted to see her ONLY as a child to be pitied, the little kid who cowered in fear instead of fighting back, and not have to acknowledge catra’s more complicated character traits.

i also think this is why these same people often talk like they love adora, like “adora deserves better than catra” and all that shit. adora (to them) is easier to see as a perfect victim. shadow weaver’s abuse made her obedient and self-sacrificing. it made her put others before herself, even to the point of fucking death. adora is selfless and brave. she’s so determined to be a perfect hero, to protect people, to care for people, to love people. these traits are easier to romanticize. it makes her seem beautiful.

if you ask me, this is a really fucked up way of viewing adora. i don’t love adora bc she’s a “perfect victim”, i love adora bc she, like catra, is also flawed. adora’s determination to be perfect leads her to abandoning catra. her inability to empathize with catra leads her to behaving the way she did in taking control. adora isn’t fucking perfect.

(for context i do also think that catra was in the wrong in that episode too, but i feel like we don’t talk enough about how badly adora was handling the situation. like seriously girl catra is here basically telling her “i don’t trust you bc i don’t believe that you could ever love me bc i’m inherently fucked up and unlovable” and adora’s immediate reaction is to blow up at her. it makes sense given what adora has just done for her, but it’s another example of adora being incapable of empathizing with catra. also calling her a stubborn brat? yeah uh that wasn’t funny adora, especially not with the ways that shadow weaver talked about catra.)

but i love that adora is flawed, and i love that catra is flawed. they’re not archetypes. no real person experiences abuse like they did and comes out perfect. catra’s intense fear of abandonment and resentment issues are a very fucking real response to the way she was traumatized. regardless of how ugly it is.

at the end of the day, i think that people can’t wrap their brains around this concept and refuse to empathize with imperfect victims bc they don’t want to admit that they, too, are imperfect victims. the perfect victim isn’t real. it’s a fucking myth.

in real life, people are messy and complicated, like catra and adora. it’s why i love them :)

ugh i could literally go on about this FOREVER i swear.

this. this right fucking here.

Once more, for the people in the back:

CATRA AND ADORA ARE NOT SISTERS.

Not "Adopted" or "related by blood", they were NEVER sisters, Period. They grew-up together as best friends in a military-school/orphanage. Plus, Shadow Weaver was their mentor, NOT their "mother".

"Oh but that page from the show bible-"

-Was made before the show ever went into production and was written either by Dreamworks or Netflix higher-ups, without ND Stevenson's consent. So it makes perfect sense that Stevenson fought long and hard, with all of his strength, against these ideas being forced upon the story so that Catra and Adora could fully consummate their love for each other and make cartoon history. Sadly, these bad-faith actors are so desperate to turn Stevenson into this disgusting "incest-abuse fetishist", not because they care about "wanting good writing" or "better representation" but because they want less competition. It's what they tried to do with Rebecca Sugar and others, lie about a genuine, honest-to-goodness LGBTQ+ creator fighting for diversity being the most depraved, most vile monster imaginable just so they can chase them out of the industry and take their place as "the better creator".

Because they believe the animation industry works like some high-school popularity contest where the only way upwards is to tear others down.

i know i'm a bit of a purist when it comes to books in that i don't want to mark or write in them, but flip i really should get into annotating books cause i don't remember half of what i read anymore. like i remember the vibes, and if there are certain moments that i've re read a bunch i'll remember those, but lots of the events and lines that end up being important or that people bring up i'm like "that happened??? that occurred?? i don't remember that lol." even if i just read the book.

seriously i should just start annotating cause i don't remember nothin. ug. what to do.

Idiot devices spasming and reacting without reasonable analysis should not be trusted, should not be emulated, and should not be followed after in actions.

Cascade effects related to chains of devices spasming and reacting to the tiniest frown or negative perception relate to criminal strategies and effects these times.

Do not reduce appropriate analysis time, effort, expenditures or resources. And do not act if more analysis is needed.

I have been protected, like this whole globe, since birth, by transporter inhibitors, as well as temporal change inhibitors erected by my robots who resurrected me after having been killed in the womb and having been dead for 250000 years. There is no more criminal time travel (time travel the duplicates living or dead beings) possible, and there never will be.

Ok so rant time i love love Hozier he’s literally a lyrical genius, especially with one of his MOST UNDERRATED SONGS EVER, son of Nyx. Ok so Son of Nyx is one of his songs on his newest Album, Unreal Unearth. The whole premise of the album absolutely AMAZING and so so creative. If y’all don’t know, unreal unearth is an album representing the 7 circles of hell. Every song fits into a different ring and ajanbddj the way he represents this concept is so new and cool. So Son if Nyx is such an interesting song if you reslly look into it. The song is super different than the rest of his songs, it’s more of a classical whimsical piece with no almost no words than some echos of other songs on the album. The concept however makes sense for this. Nyx is such a highly stigmatized entity due to her being associated with the dark and monsters, so it would make sense that a son of such a goddess would be different than his peers so such a different fits perfectly!!! Not only is that so creative but the ring of hell that this song falls into is Heretics. Heretics is when a person disagrees or doesn’t fit in with generally acceptable ideals WHICH MAKES SO MUCH SENSE FOR A SON OF NYX, A PERSON WHOS VERY EXISTANCE WOULD GO AGAINST ACCEPTED NORMS OF THE WORLD. Also the song being so different than the rest of his songs ALSO IS THEREFORE NOT FITTING IN AND REPRESENTS HERETIC SO WELL

Thinking About How Laios Is So Outwardly Kind And Agreeable Even Though He Can Be Judgmental In His Head.

and i know its to keep the peace, and as party leader he has more responsibility to withhold scathing remarks that could damage morale. BUT i can't help the nagging feeling its also because he just doesn't want to hurt his friend's feelings, even in the moment

like the one time he verbalizes his "negative" thoughts, he immediately goes back

Thinking About How Laios Is So Outwardly Kind And Agreeable Even Though He Can Be Judgmental In His Head.

he doesn't actually get it, he still thinks it's strange nobody wants to eat the fish man but can eat other animals, but he lets it go for chilchuck's sake.

laios spent his entire life feeling ostracized and scrutinized by others, the last thing he wants to do is make his friends feel that way.

and it sucks so hard we don't get more of this in the anime because i feel like it adds so much with so little.

doing questionable things like rewatching a bard’s lament for “fun” and scanlan and vex you will always be famous. the fact that scanlan brings up that they’ve travelled across planes to fix vex’s daddy issues but then it’s vex’s daddy issues that ground her rebuttal to scanlan when she tells him to stop treating kaylie like an object. and god. vex’s “fuck him! fuck him for not saying anything sooner. and fuck us for not asking.” in the immediate aftermath, and then once she has time to put her walls back up, vex’s “my take-away from scanlan is that we all talk too much.”

the fact that vex was the one who made that comment that without his magic scanlan is just some guy but he’s also the some guy that vex spends the campaign looking up to (even if she does it through barbs and snark), the fact that when vex was fighting against saundor hearing things like “unproven ally” scanlan was all jokes until he realized how much vex believed what was being said to her. the fact that when scanlan comes back, it’s vex who literally sees through his disguise.

what do you mean scanlan was a deadbeat father who discovered a daughter that he did love but loved only as an object until vex called him out on it? what do you mean vex was a woman who struggled to forgive in part due to her crapshoot father and she was the first to forgive scanlan when he came back?

vex and scanlan also have such interesting interactions in terms of the balance of snark, silliness, and sincerity. it’s not uncommon from any characters of sam or laura’s since they are both silly little guys who also love drama and roasting each other especially when it comes to character rp, but as always it’s so dynamic when it’s the two of them bouncing off each other, especially when they’re doing so through scanlan and vex who are already bitchy characters (affectionate) with humour as a deflection method. but it’s a silly and deeply sincere moment when vex finally puts the witch hat scanlan gave her back on with his promise that he won’t run away from the final battle. it is one of my favourite laughable moments in c1 but it also reeks of sincerity when scanlan asks vex if she prefers planetar scanlan or normal scanlan and vex tells him he is fucking hot as a planetar, but she loves him like he was and he’s her favourite when he’s just himself.

like. they’re insane do you understand. the dawnfather asks vex to prove herself and scanlan turns her into a dragon to help her succeed, pelor asks vox machina what vex means to them and scanlan says she’s greedy and mean and the most perfect of them all. the knowing mistress asks scanlan to prove himself and vex escorts him on a broom he unlocked for her and then she picks an impossible lock for him, ioun tries to remind scanlan that his strength is the joy he provides to his friends and he makes a deflective quip that he’s really powerful and vex undercuts his deflection with a sincere assertion that he is. scanlan cast his last wish spell letting her see her brother on her wedding day. vex sent herself across the continent alone with her worry and grief while scanlan’s corpse lay awaiting resurrection to ensure that his daughter could be there to either bring him back or say goodbye.

they are the platonic chosen soulmates of all time to me. i make a post like this like once a year minimum and it’s because they Haunt me. both sam and laura said what if we made high charisma characters using their charisma as a shield and humour as a weapon and they saw through each other’s masks but they never explicitly talked about it to one another. good riddance to talks machina but i will never forget the episode post bard’s lament with laura and sam where sam revealed that vex was the only one who said anything that actually got through to scanlan and another episode where laura revealed that the reason vex was so angry and sad when scanlan left was that vex felt like her and scanlan had a unique bond where they were the only two who really saw one another’s masks for what they were. also laura providing the insight that while vex was actively working on being more forgiving, another reason she was so open and happy with scanlan when he came back was that vex didn’t want to scare him away again.

what am i supposed to do with all that? be normal about scanlan and vex? literally impossible

saw a video that said ‘when a found family’s motto gains a different meaning at the end of the series’ and like. dare i say ninja never quit.

at the beginning of the series it was motivating. they were little kids pushing themselves to be brave, trying to encourage each other that they can do this.

but now it’s borderline self destructive. they never quit, they never get a break, no matter what happens they have to push through, regardless of the cost.

zane holds onto the golden armor even as it starts breaking him apart, because he has to protect his friends, he can’t quit until the overlord is gone

jay holds out in season 6 even while being tortured, trying to convince himself that things would be okay if he just keeps going a little longer, that he can save everyone he just has to not quit

lloyd nearly and does get himself killed trying to defeat garmadon/the oni in s8-10, because ninja never quit.

nya sees the city get entirely destroyed, and realizes her only option is to give herself over to the sea. doesn’t matter the consequences, ninja never quit so if there’s a way to save everyone she has to do it even if it will kill her physical body

i’m sure there are tons more examples this is just off the top of my head, but like. it’s so heartbreaking to see them push themselves further and further as the show goes on, no matter the consequences. because ninja never quit right?
