Alexander: alright, bye
John: bye
[somewhere else]
Lafayette: *spidey senses*
Lafayette: *falls out of a tree and lands on Alex*
Lafayette: sTOP RIGHT THERE
I heard somewhere that whe Lafayette got captured in Austria, it was Angelica Schuyler and her husband John Barker Church to save him.
What do you think the conversation would have been?
“Lafayette! What are you doing in there?”
“Why, I am in jail, of course.”
long, deep, frustrated sigh
“I am sorry, madame, but that man was just asking for it!”
I HAVE A FEELING THAT EXPRESS IS SECRETLY IN LOVE WITH THE SCHUYLER SISTERS
Eliza loved Valentine's Day.
Well, at least from what Momma said about it, it sounded amazing. Momma had said that Valentine's Day was full of hearts and love and ap-pre-ci-ation. A few days before the grand day, Mr. Washington told everyone that they could bring in valentines for the other kids, Eliza was ecstatic. When she got home, she started making valentines right away, grabbing a large stack of construction paper and a couple sheets of stickers.
For her sisters, she made a yellow card for Peggy and an orange one for Angelica. She drew hearts and smiley faces and flowers. For John, she drew lots of turtles and apple juice. For Lafayette, she found a sticker sheet full of France related things and plastered his valentine with them. She made everyone else’s to correspond to their likes. In total she made 12 cards- including one for Mr. Washington. But for Alex, her very best friend, she made a special valentine. It was the biggest and of all the cards- with all the glitter stickers and special rainbow writing. The best thing was that she taped a lollipop she’d been saving all the way from Halloween- A special edition caramel pop that she held dear to her heart.
Eliza smiled after completing Alexander’s card. “There,” she said softly, “All done,” She planted a kiss on top of the valentine and put it back into the bag where all the other cards lay.
------------------------------------
The next day, she jumped out of bed as soon as Momma woke her up and raced down to grab her bag of valentines. After Momma dropped her off- she sprinted right past Mr. Washington, who was holding the door, and stopped right in the middle of the room. The walls were covered into heart streamers and tiny cupids. She breathed in, inhaling all the happiness in the air.
She couldn’t wait for the party before lunchtime. All throughout morning playtime, she daydreamed of Alex and all the joy to come.
When it was finally time to pass out valentines, she was the first to volunteer.
“Alright, it’s time to pass out your valentines, kids! Who wants to go fir-”
“ME!” Eliza shot her hand up so fast Mr. Washington didn’t have time to finish.
“Eliza! Please raise your hand quietly! But yes, you can go,”
Eliza stood up and gave out her valentines. The other kids were amazed by them- Eliza’s were much better than theirs. As she gave her valentine to Alex, A chorus of wows went up from their classmates.
“Woah... T-thank you, Eliza,” a surprised Alex marveled at the wonderful card.
The little girl blushed. “You’re welcome,”
Everyone else passed out theirs, and finally, they could open them.
John gave everyone turtle cards. Hercules had sewn beanies for the boys and little dolls for the girls. Alexander wrote poems, and so on.
They were all given time to play with or eat the items they were given. Eliza was just about to give her brand new doll a name when Alex came up to her. He was holding her giant card.
“Oh! Hi, Alex!” Eliza turned to smile at her best friend.
“Thank you a lot for the card! It’s really awesome!” The boy beamed, grateful to have a friend like Eliza.
“But... How did you get that lollipop? I’ve never seen it before,” He asked.
“I saved it all the way from Halloween. It’s a special e-di-tion lollipop.” Eliza answered.
“Do... Do you want to sleep next to me during nap time?” Alex asked shyly.
The girl smiled brilliantly. “Of course,”
Now, this was a big deal, since the girls and boys never slept together because of “cooties”. But nevertheless, Alex and Eliza didn’t care.
So sleep togther during nap time they did.
(A/N oops was that crappy? Anyway, this is for hamil-tots! If you’re not hamil-tots, then go check 'em out.)
